Close up
Morning Glories 2009 #16
I'm saving my pink streaked seeds to plant when I get to Cocoa Beach. I just love them, they're so cheerful.
Oops, thought I closed this one with a link to the new thread.
Guess not, just tired last night.

Mona, love the Carnival of Venice blooms
Yours very nice too Mittsy
Oh my! I turn my back and go to work and look what happens to this thread! LOL! Looks like we had a posting frenzy today! LOL!
Debra - I love your Fuji Shibori (first post after my last post)!!! One of my faves of the freckled I. nils! Your blue and pink blooms are very pretty too! And ya know I love that Setosa! I am definitely growing that one again next year! I've not grown the lavender Moonvine yet. I have seeds, so may grow that one next season too. So many seeds and so little room ... what's a person to do????!!! LOL! Seriously though ... this is one of the reasons I wished I had several acres of land. I could do what Dany did and grow out a couple hundred vines! :-) I still can't get over his photo of the vines making a lush maze! So cool!!!
Colin - I about fell outta my chair when I saw the vine of your I sepacutiensis !!! How wonderful a vine! Seriously ... way cool looking thorny stems! I, too, would love a couple of seeds. Is it an annual or a perennial? And I just love your Purple Flaked hige blooms! Wow! I would love to trade you for a few of those seeds too! Very beautiful!
Mona - Is this photo: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7098951 a Setosa bloom? Or is it the lavender moonvine? It looks like setosa, but I can't be sure! Great shot, btw! I also like your purple flaked photos! VERY NICE!!!
Helena - Nice rich colors on your blooms in the photos! Some of my blooms are like yours, not fully opened. I wonder what is going on? Too much rain or sun or fertilizer? I can't figure it out ...
Mittsy - Oh my! The minute I saw your chewed up vines, I had to laugh. Not at you, but the situation. I had some fruit rats that were doing the same thing to my vines last year. Too bad you can't mount that planter to the top railing of your fence so the woodchucks couldn't reach the vines. Then just let the vines grow along the top of the railing. Poor vines! :-( I am sorry you didn't get to see them grow and thrive and bloom. What a real bummer!
I have to tell you that your mailbox planter looks fabulous! BEAUTIFUL!!! Those Purple Flaked I. purpureas are still my favorite I. purpurea vine! It looks stunning surrounding the base of your mailbox! Love it! Be sure to post some photos of the Pink Flaked when you grow them out! When are you coming back to Cocoa? Nice photos of the blooms, too!
Sorry to post on a closed thread, but just had to comment on all the lovely photos! What a treat to behold! :-)
