Thought for the Day: (Part Deaux)

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Here is one: "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." --Chinese Proverb.

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 9b)

That was a favorite of my Gramp's, Blooms' father.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

TGIF!! The weekend's almost here and so's our Southern CA R.U.

Friday Thought for the Day:

It was impossible to get a conversation going,
everybody was talking too much.

Sounds like the RU!!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Yup, that's us! See you all tomorrow!

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Been busy yesterday and today. I had to make an emergency appearance as last-minute "granddaughter sitter" yesterday. I told KaperC I'd bring her a Canna yesterday to save from both of us transporting it all the way to the RU and back, but I got caught having to do that "tough" duty as grandpa. (grin)

I may make it up your way today though Kathleen. I tentatively rescheduled the viewing of the rental for this afternoon late. We'll see what happens. Baking muffins right now. Gotta go.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

I bet your house smells yummy!!

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

It does! I love the smell of any kind of sweets baking that contain pecans. Something about that roasted nutty fragrance that makes me forget all about the butter and sugar content.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

If muffin tops are so good that they can sell just the muffin top, why not make the whole muffin that way?

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Actually these do taste like that!!

Stanford, CA(Zone 9b)

REcipe please?

Gilroy (Sunset Z14), CA(Zone 9a)

Yes, PLEASE!

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

We get to taste them tomorrow?!!??

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

I'll bring the recipe to the R.U. and send to those not there. They're really easy and they're more like candy than muffins. I've almost made myself sick sampling each batch. LOL

Gilroy (Sunset Z14), CA(Zone 9a)

Sounds like MY kinda recipe....LOL!

Round Up Today!!!! Yipee!

Saturday Thought for the Day:

Gardening is about enjoying the smell of things growing in the soil, getting dirty without feeling guilty, and generally taking the time to soak up a little peace and serenity.

Gilroy (Sunset Z14), CA(Zone 9a)

I thought this one was especially appropriate for us DGers!

To know someone here or there with whom you can feel there is understanding in spite of distances or thoughts expressed ~ That can make life a garden.
Goethe

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Very nice Janet. And so much more appropriate for the day of a Round Up when we actually get to sit around eating visiting and talking about plants, kids, grandkids, pets etc. What a wonderful group and what a great time had by all.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

We really enjoyed the day in Rancho Cucamonga, great friends, good food and lots of plants. We did miss the ones who couldn't make it, they missed a great Saturday afternoon.

Sunday Thought for the Day:

If the pursuit and the anticipation are the joy of the hunt, then tending a garden is the ultimate source of joy....filled with pursuit of the next plant and anticipation of what blooms the next day brings.--dp

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Ooooh, I like that!

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

It's monday again..................weekend too short.

Monday Thought for the Day:

Opportunity is missed by most people because
it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

I can see your minds are all rested up, you're posting some good ones this morning!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

This one has always puzzled me: Why do they call it your "rear end" when techically it's your MIDDLE ???
Think about it...

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

LOL good one Mike!!!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Marie,
Your quote above 'A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be' ....is how I have tried to live my life.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

I think it is a great way to live your life!!

Ok I lied one more, I have to make up for not posting for a few days.

A friend is someone who, when you've made a complete fool of yourself, doesn't think that you've done a permanent job.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Yup, that's a friend alright, Doss.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.
