DD Ruth just arrived home from school. she says "great news Mom, no soccer practice!" yup, it's coming down medium hard and steady. plants are loving it.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

yup, yup..
Sure hope mosquitoes quit breeding ... as long as it's a slow drizzle, no fear of being flooded.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well enjoy that raing ladies, it is 100 here today. For the first day of fall it is a scorcher.

LOL, received an email form Harold. This man likes to do everything that I do has a big boat, is trying to quit smoking, likes to eat, very open and honest (even said he's too honest sometimes and tends to hurt feelings needs to think before he speaks). He keeps fresh flowers in his house everyday. Said his neice told him to put bleach in the water and the flowers last another 4 to 5 days longer. Is very anxious to meet me. Need to get my pix sent to him, and then see what he says.
So hey do any of you ladies want some Grape Hyacinth bulbs. I've got thousands of them. Digging them up and spread them around other areas of the yard.

So I will let ya all know what Harlod says after he sees my pix.
Oh and BTW Synda says to say "HI" and that she'll be back soon. Going through some bad stuff and is MAD!!!!!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Sugar in the water will make them last a long time, never heard of bleach.

Cindy way cool. Are you and Steve still talking? I'll take some bulbs! Thanks!
It's always hot there this time of year, until about 2 weeks before Halloween. Halloween is Always cold and windy, then in November everyone is sick.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh yes, Steve and I are still talking may even go camping this weekend. But he has a lot of problems that get in the way of us spending alot of time together. He said last night that his feelings for me are growing. You see I want to do things, go places see things and with Steve I don't see that happening very often. I'm thinking we may end up just being friends and nothing else. He hasn't had any work since last Wednesday and has huge bills to pay $5,500 a month yikes. So you can see what I mean. Plus he has a lot of women friends that are always calling him in the middle of the night saying they need help. That I can't handle. He did say that he is trying to get away from all that so that his future will be with his partner for life.
Ok I'll get the bulbs to you in the next couple of days.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, looks like you will find the right one yet? Harold sounds interesting, but watch the truthfullness! It can hurt!
Wish I could grow the hyacinths here. Just don't have enough ground worked up for them.

Just read this on the news. Please don't go to places like stadiums, and mass transit, unless you have too! New terrorism warning out!

Take care.

Checking in to read through quick.

Jaye glad to see you are back and feeling better...I was worried abut you. Between Laura needing to do some clothes shopping, and getting everything lined up for Bill and Shawn's trip to Vegas I haven't had a lot of time the past few days. Tomorrow is Laura and Sean's 3rd Anniversary and they are going to Seattle...Sean has a doctor's appointment then they going to enjoy the sights and then go out to dinner. I keeping Sage over night and taking her to school Thursday.

We spent the entire day shopping for clothes....she finally got a blouse and some undies....I got her a pair of jeans that actually fit and look really good on her. She spent more on new stuff for Sage than for herself. I as so tired I may not do anything but sit for the next two days...LOL...like I could actually force myself to do that.

Antonio and his brother in law are here weeding out my jungle...will be so nice to get the blackberries and bindweed out of everything, and get the raspberries pruned and tied back properly.

Cindy, they sound like interesting guys....take care...

Hope every one is out of flood areas....be safe.

Will check back later if I don't fall asleep.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

oh Cindy sounds interesting never hurts to give it a try and see where things go you don't have to rush into anything that's for sure

mmm love the smell of hyacinths..dmail me and we'll talk postage price.

Oh and SS was suppose to be here starting last sat and has yet to show up
I am wondering why he would drive all the way here and have to drive back to kilgore/ longview everyday to work and how that would save for an apartment and getting the car in his name and insurance.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Phyllis, maybe he found another solution? Like sharing an apt. with a buddy?

Cindy, no thanks on the grape hyacinths. Somehow they don't come back the following year for me.
Take your time gf. Seems like Steve has some issues that he need to take care of before being serious with you. Just be careful when you're out with a stranger. No matter how often you talk.. text.. or stay online with someone.. he is still a stranger.
Good to see you Trisha. And no, you won't be resting.. you'll be either looking for something to do, or someone will call you for help :D

Didn't know about bleach, but heard of sugar and also aspirin, Crissy

I'll bid you all good night here. My left side, below the breast bone, is hurting. It's when I fought with a hose a few days back.. paying for it now.
Thank God, I didn't have to water the plants today.
So, I'll see you all tomorrow.

.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Cindy seems more like the brotherly type, I hate that! I hope he knows he will never find a life partner as long as women are calling him in the middle of the night, I don't care if these women calling all sisters of his. I think that's weird, why would someone call in the middle of the night asking for help with something. I completely understand what you mean, no way Jose! And that amount owing with no work for a week, that's not good. Yikes is right!

Huh, didn't know about aspirin either Jaye.

I'm going to visit some other posts and put myself to bed, after getting to bed late two nights in a row I am tired tired tired. Tiga doesn't seem to be feeling very good, kinda got me worried.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I know what I wanted to show you before I go to bed! I'm looking for sconces to put on each side of that picture above the end tables and I can't find anything that would look decent, but then again I am horrible at imagining things like that.

Here's the ceiling fan in the room.

Here's the light almost directly above where the sconce on the left is going to be, this light is above the front door.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Here's another light just to the left of the light over the door. I have this problem with too many lights in the same room and none of them match. This is the same light that's in the dining area so we put a small bar table under it.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I have a picture of the room before we put furniture in it, I'll have to find it tomorrow and post it so you see what I mean.

Any ideas of what type and design of sconces I should get would be much help!

Night night!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

good night everyone....

Just wanted to let you all know that I talked to Stacey (e-mail) today and she asked me to say hi to everyone, that she loves you all and she will be back eventually.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Trisha, thanks for the message from Stacey! Tell her we all say hello, and send her a few hugs also.
Good night everyone!

Morning Glory! How are my sistahs this morning? Randall is putting the coffee on, and I've got some hot spiced tea here.

tried something new last night. Had a glass of wine with spaghetti dinner and tried to go to sleep with him last night. spent most of the night looking at the ceiling, but at least I'm up at a decent hour.

now got to read what y'all have posted.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

g'mornin' all
Well, my week is going to slow down a bit, I hope (HA!!)
This will probably be my only post today......
Monday - had a meeting with people who have set me up, with a team of 5, to do teleconference setup for 2 buildings. I'm to do admin of it, and others will set up, so I'm led to believe. Busy day otherwise, but too much to go into
Tuesday - Organized and hosted a Retirement Party for a wonderful Dr (74 yr old) with 60 people (mine & another's antique teacups, tablecloths, cake with his pic on it, candlelight, veggie platters etc - I was told this is the nicest Retirement Tea people had ever seen ^_^
I also set up meeting with 5 (tried a couple of dates & had trouble with that!), only to find out one will be in Bali and wants to meet after I start up the program....another 2 think I will be doing ALL the setup, and they will "help a couple times a month, or when I'm sick/vacation". Apparently HR thinks the same...... I'm doing 2 people's jobs - mine and a lady doing her job point 2 hours of the month (means I support 8 physicians);
learning admin of teleconferences, AND supposed to setup equipment 5 times a week?!?!?! I minute 8 meetings a month and that's a huge time away from my desk and doing the minutes takes another chunk.
Admin = creation/maintenance of spreadsheet of all teleconferences from 7 med companies, certificates, communiques from same companies, burning CD's, Lending Library of all their material (about 500 teleconferences worth for previous & current year) and "chasing down" the physicians etc who have CD's reference material and other teleconference material.
This is a huge project and I look after both buildings. Good thing the other building's people don't expect me to setup There!
From the sounds of it, I'll need to leave a recorder for MY (2) division's meetings, in order to do the setup for the teleconferences..... I'm being told that's not fair, but geeze louise! If I'm to be responsible for this project, then when other people aren't doing the work, guess who is to do it? ME, of course. I don't want this transition from one person & her hubby (who do this as a major part of their job now) to fail. All eyes are now looking at me to do it right the first time.
And me being a perfectionist - this doesn't help me sleep at night........

So, back to...... won't be on much for awhile...
I'm baking for the church fall dinner this Saturday; getting ready to go camping again this w/e (back to Waterton ^_^) so will be packing up tonight, and my house has been sadly neglected lately so have a big job of cleanup before someone comes to look after my cat while we're gone (no one should see my house the way it is......)

Well, as you can see, I'm busy..... oh ya - have to get the Sig Blocks out today!

Love, hugs, and blessings to all
Susan

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Wow Susan, your busier than I am at work! That's great though, you have job security! Have a great day and good luck getting through all of that, but I know you'll be fine.

Hi Stacey! I'm glad she emailed you Trisha.

Well I might be back sometime today and I might not be. I'm leaving for my conference in 1 week this afternoon.

I knew Ms. Cheerful's niceness couldn't last forever, I was walking to my desk and she was in the kitchen, she looked up from watching the microwave to see who was coming and rolled her eyes as she looked back down. She's said good morning to everyone but me. Here we go again, except this time I'll go work at my workstation in someone else private office and tell her to kmr.

Morning everyone! How about some hot oatmeal for brakfast. Nice and cool, and raining today.
I will be doing more cleaning house, so I will be in and out today as well.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Wow Crissy,

If I had that wall to decorate I'd go broke!! I used to go to a lot of home decorating parties all the time. The way to decorate a wall is like reading a book. Start with a few small things work to the right and add bigger. Stagger pictures and sconces and other items to make it an intresting display. Don't center that pix over your sofa and put sconces on each side. That kind of decorating went out years ago.

Here's an example of what I did in my bedroom. (not the greatest arrangement)This is over my headboard. I have a black metal canopy bed. Gotta get rid of that raspberry color. Going to paint it purple and sage green.

.......... be fine...........
yes, job security, and love my job(s)! People are relying on me, and it's great - makes me happy. just office politics makes me annoyed, but it will all come out in the wash ......... (yawn) tired..........

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Here's a picture of the room standing in the dining area before the furniture was bought. This isn't a very good picture of the wall but it shows the lights in the entry way and where we put the bar table.

So my options are endless? So that confuses me even more lol! Should I go black, brown, silver, curly q, straight, flowers, it seems my options are endless!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm tired too, don't want to do anything. Go figure.

I have a question, are reading glasses bifocal?

Raleigh, NC

anyone know what would cause a mid size hosta not to take in a 3 gal pot? been spitting rain here, so I can't really go out to play in the dirt. Noticed it on my way in the door.

We're back. Took Randall to doc. Have had him soaking his finger in epsom salt or salt and hot water since Saturday. He cracked a cuticle starting the mower. I didn't know it until he told the doc, but it was 24 hours before he showed me his finger - no wonder it got infected, it had closed! the whole side of his finger was an ugly white this morning. Doc lanced, really fast, it just exploded goo. that boy of mine was so surprised. gotta do better teaching him about sanitation of wounds.
[he had to get tetanus^_^ shot]

Susan, neglected house? you mean dirty? i.e., is normal....

Crissy - have only one golden rule for decorating: if it has to be dusted, NO.

this time of year, for decor ideas I either go to the Parade of Homes, model homes, or furniture stores. Take my camera and take snaps of anything I really like, including detail shots. found out by taking the photos what I did and don't like. Great thing about model homes - they ususally have the latest colors. if a color scheme is on the way out the door, it'll show up there first. I'm still back about 15 years ago, on jewel tones....LOL

the curse of an educated mind, though - after an Art History class, have never wanted to settle for anything less than beautiful artwork. it has to speak to me or enchant me for me to hang it. but..I have NO talent...

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I know nothing about decorating, just wanted to say I really like you hanging lights. I have an awful one in my small dining area and I like the light above the front door. So many other things I would like to do so I haven't given the light much thought lately. I do like the molding around the top of the walls. I have a sister who really has an eye for decorating, and she does it often in her home. Friends ask her to go shopping with them when they decorate.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm back!
Hmmm Susan, as long as you think you could handle all these jobs without crashing, then I'd say, you are one superwoman!
Will be praying for you not to lose your sanity.. and for Bob to have both ears intact!!

Crissy, looks like you have the advice of the pros here. My style is eclectic. Nothing matchy-matchy and stands to stay put for years!!

Reading glasses are just that.. for reading. Bringing printed words closer to you.
Bifocals are glasses with the regular glasses (bringing far object closer) plus the reading glasses.

Hey Bonnie. Do you think that hosta is sitting in a soggy pot? If it's outside, that's what I think.

Time to feed the rescues..

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Susan, Crissy, I am so tired after reading what you two are up to at work........waving to everyone...

Did not sleep well last night, DH's alarm went off at 4a.m......son called at 8 to ask if I could go up and check on Lisa...she is sick.....went by and had Terry put the car window up, I may go out to the wrecking yard later and see if they have a window switch for this car....
I pick Sage up at 3:30....take her to visitation at 5:30....pick her up at 7:30.....dinner and homework......tomorrow I may come home and lock the doors, turn off the phone and go play in the yard.

Never got a chance for breakfast so am going to try and grab some lunch before the afternoon madness starts....hope you all are having a good day.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I know, that's why I asked ya'll about the decorating and I am so glad I did! I might go visit some model homes and look at their walls :) Have to find some first, maybe some open houses Saturday if Dave's working :p

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

...... superwoman......... not.........
however, if they think so @ work, MAYBE I'll get a raise within the next year lol
btw - they are looking for more people to set up... they know I can't do it all.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I keep saying I have CRS bad, and today is just a regular day with my CRS :(

Happy 3rd Anniversary Laura and Sean. May today invoke happy memories.
I know times are very challenging for you both, but your love for each other will overcome anything.

Trisha, I hope Lisa's not catching the bug :( Sending her positive thoughts for a quick recovery.

Yeah.. at least you're being acknowledged that you can't be wearing 3-4 hats and not turn into a madhatter!
Susan, hope they send you the best help.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my, I guess I missed that. Most definately have a great day for your 3rd Anniversary Laura and Sean! You are both just beginning a great life together, and I pray there are many more years together.
