Sound's like JJ. has the old fashion type to me as well. I have plenty of seedling's if you would like some of that type of Lilac. They are the best smelling Lilac you will find out there;-)

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I'll try to see if I can one Tomorrow. I have a meeting I have to go to in the afternoon.

Oh my friend (from the house of weeds) just called her DH got the mower stuck again. At least he's not in the pond!!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I have had these for a few years now and never had them rebloom. Its not full of blooms but there are a couple starting.
Rachel I am working on making a line of lilac tree across the back of my property to hide the field behind me. I let the seedlings grow under the plant for awhile then I dig them up when they are big enough that DH won't mow em over.

Hi there!
Fires going...

LOL, we had to go for more miller! So while they are doing that...

My DH and I went out for a very romantic and fun 1st year anniversary.
We loved to camp at the time...So we went to a beautiful Stated Park, called
Chain-o-lakes. Colors were just starting to change, and it was really Indian Summer.
So We rented a row boat, loaded it up with our few items...lol, cheap drink Johnny Walkers and Water, ROFLOL, premade.
styrophome cooler...So we tool around the little island, find a quiet place to land...Tall grasses dancing in the breeze.
There was only one tree amongst all the grass, with a tiny path. We were not the first to land. So chose our spot, and started unloading. Collectied a bit of fire wood and just had a ball watchiong nature in the middle of nowhere...Got a nice little fire going and decide then it was time to start the lunch. Duh, we forgot the little cooker, so went about to search for a cooking stick.
While my honey went one way I went the other, found a really nice stick and came back to Steve. He was crouched down with a hotdog already roasting over the fire. So I continued to do the same. All the while we chattered on about how beautiful our little islands was surrounded by water, close enough to hear but be kind of hidden. well As I rolled my hot dog over the fire, Steve had his in way to far...
I tried to hint it was too far in and well, dh being dh...just gave me one of his looks that distintcly told me he knows how to cook! Just then, his stick burned off and fell into the fire! ROFLOL, busted out in laughter, I did and listened to him moan about how that shouldn't have happened...Trying very hard not to continue laughing, he kept saying it isn't funny, it isn't funny.hahaha, so i tried not to laugh and suggested a different stick. Mine was ready so, plopped it on a bun and ate! smacking delicious i said...Finally, he comes another stick and begin to roast it. LOL...Kept saying it wasn't on right, but he just looked at me again with the I know what I'm doing looks. Continues to his roasting and Kerplop!! It falls to the fire again!! While i laughed so hard...He was totally bewildered that a second dog was sizzling in the fire...I couldn't even eat anymore because i was laughing so hard...Asked him if wanted me to roast the next one, lolol can't beleive he married after that!

Transferred my cousin to LSU Medical in Shreveport. His hometown. Heard today that there was a slight improvement.

Your bee hive looks like a hornet nest to me. Bad boogers. If you want it for a science class, wait until a really cold morning and slip a heavy black plastic bag over it and nip off the limb it is attached to. Drop in a couple of no pest strips and tie it up good and tight. Put it somewhere out of the way for a couple of weeks.

Another view.

Good Morning. Sorry I missed the party!

I have a funny dacquiri story... this was about 10 years ago, my friend & I went to Friday's and started drinking before dinner. We were trying all the different flavors and getting chatty with our waiter, STEVE. He came over at some point and asked if we wanted another one, we said "no, we've had enough". He said "there's only one more left to try" so we said "sure!". Then he said "well, I don't want to twist your rubbery little arms" and we had a good laugh.

So to this day we still use that line - "go ahead, twist my rubbery little arm".

That's my story. JJs, my lilac is doing a really weird thing - it's sprouting tiny clusters of flowers on the end of the branch, growing about an inch, then sprouting again. i posted something on the pest & disease forum, but no one answered.

You up, Lynnie?

Everyone have a good day!

(Zone 5b)

Jim! Good to see you! I have one piece of cake left :) Thanks for the advice on the bees nest. It's my neighbor's, though, I'll pass it on to them. I was wondering about your cousin, sounds like some improvement, so that's good. It will be a long road.

Hi Smileymom, I must have been tired, slept late today ;)

Dave I love coconut & dark chocolate...that would make some good s'mores!

(Zone 5b)

Trina what will you do with all that seed? Holy moly.

Seedtosser that's a good story....

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

mmmm coconut & dark chocolate..... like a homemade almond joy....

when my kids were little, on Halloween they had to pay a "candy toll" after we checked their haul. always gave us the almond joy's because they didn't like them.

(Zone 5b)

almonds are good for you....I'll eat them wrapped in dark chocolate.
aaaahhh....a quiet cup of coffee....

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sounds like everyone had quite a grand time at the bonfire....great stories, all. And JJs, I thought PJ was female also.....grin.
Dave, you always manage to show up with something to keep us drooling....chocolate, vanilla, orchids....oh my.

My GS was not feeling well on Friday so I kept him home, been a few cases of H1N1 at his school.....turned out to be ragweed allergy stuff, no fever, but he forgot....that's his story, grin......that he had 30 Alg2 problems due today. Getting him to focus on a Sunday evening is like pulling hen's teeth.....lol

Good morning Lynn, Julie, how are my favorite early birds, today?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Kids out the door......yea! I agree, a quiet cup of coffee....grin
More rain today...be clunking around squeaking OIL ME if this keeps up....grin

(Zone 5b)

my nephew's college has over 300 cases, I heard....nothing in my town yet....
Moon I hear ya on the Sunday night thing....my kids do their homework right after school...then they can play (easier to bribe 'em when they're little).
