Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends...come inside come inside.....(EL&P...Brain salad surgery)
Kassy, I have a little cutie to show you....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring-tailed_Cat I know Simba would probably not be impressed, but it sure is cute
Why do we garden? What draws us to the outside in the most inhospitable weather? Are gardeners the true optimists in this world or is it a primal need to stay connected to the earth? And, why do we fight so hard to grow things from other climates? What do you think?
GYPSY LIVES, GARDEN STORIES and FOOTLESS CHICKENS
I have an obsession...i literally feel sick if I can't play with my plants...indoors or out...so I think primal need to stay connected to the earth
It is my relaxation. And I love to stop & smell the flowers.
Hey Pam/JJ -- Are you there?
I wasn't around for the footless chicken thing. What is it?
me either smiley, so yeah Moon what's with the chicken?
Pam,
I just got my flowers a little while ago. I unpacked them and they look great!
That little columbine was still green! I have put them all in a little water, room temperature and no clorine, and put them outside in the shade. I love my surprise! So now I have yellow, red, AND purple daylilies! The roots are sooo healthy.
Thank you, thank you sooo much! I will take good care of them.

Kassy's BF has a chicken who lost his feet due to an infection of some sort...he is our mascot, Footless the Ghost Rider Chicken and his faithful companion Yammy the jew's harp playing potato(courtesy of Dave).
your telling me the darned chicken lost its feet and Kassy's BF kept it alive?
Venice, better to plant them than to soak them. Once you have thoroughly wet the roots, they need to be in damp soil rather than water.
Yes. Why wouldn't he?
As Jim said, Trina, you don't eat a chicken like that all once ;)
What Lynnie said....grin
So, Lynn, what puts you in the garden in 90 degree weather?
I can see it now..the suicidal chicken...how does it get around does he carry it everywhere?
Did you hear about the chicken without a head? They kept it alive for a long time!
Ok, Moon, I will get busy with planting later this afternoon. First, I have to get some soil for them and those trees.
Did we ever see a photo of that chicken?
Trina, you will have to get the lowdown on the chicken from Kassy.....we just think he needs wheels that spit fire as he flies around the garden.
Trina, what kind of plant jumped in your cart?
Yes, Venice, Kassy posted a picture in one of the Threads gone by. You may get her to repost it.
To quote another older gentleman, it helps in "getting the bad out."
It's healing.
I have to tell you guys this...I had my husband digging through a kitchen cabinet for a pan I haven't been able to find....it's way deep & he's in there with a flashlight..."what is THIS doing in there??" he pulled out a freezer bag full of rocks! Told me I have a problem and I need help *grin*
Trina, very pretty roses.
If you want some of those marigold next year, you have some good seed heads there that need picking.
Venice that must have been one tasty chicken to keep it going so long.
LOL So your husband told you that you have a problem with your rocks. Should we call you -- Rockpertrator!!!
If you don't believe me about the living chicken without a head, see this!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_the_Headless_Chicken
he called me a Rockaholic....
so we got the Rockpertrator and the Plantpertrator
If you want to see something funny but kind of sick, look at this!!! LOL

eeew..ok I believe you lol
venice! that was gross I already have meat issues thaks
post that chupacabra thing again
Venice glad your flowers made it ok. The purple one is one I just got off freecycle so I have no idea what it looks like. The person giving them away said they were pretty purple and yellow daylilies, that was enough for me. :)
That is one sick chicken. yuck
OK I'm out the door.
Slow down, relax gypsies,so I don't have hours of catching up to do later. lol
Probably be new thread by then!!
Its a beautiful day here today think I will enjoy it.
Later
bye JJ
I am sorry, I thought it was so funny and I can't help but laugh when I think about it.
Chicken without feet, chicken without a head, and just a chicken with a head!
lol venice!
darn me and this stupid "condition" well I'm down 2 plants cause I just landed in them. falling down the front steps while trying to go up them
i'm not the "plantpertrator" just call me "Walks With Borrowed Feet" that's what my grandad said my indian name was
Oh my gosh!!! What are you going to do to your self next?! Hope you didn't hurt yourself too bad. Please be careful!
today is just a bad day...I hate being "broken"...first thing this morning I ran into the door jamb of the bathroom then I walked into the bedroom door....then I shut my fingers in the front screen door...and now I tried to play twister on the front stairs...I think its best I just sit in one place and not move around today...the Human Pinball is loose today!
I can't tell you ladies some of the things I've been called. Explains why my nose looks so funny.
Jim it just sucks cause all outward appearances I look perfectly healthy and I get snide comments because I'm on disability...but in the mean time I am slowly loosing the ability to control any all functions of my body
lol Jim do tell.....
