Lilies are probably my favourite flowers in my mixed perennial gardens. They are not difficult to grow and add so much colour. I garden in Canada in zone 2b or 3. The Lilium genus has hybrids and species to extend bloom for a few months of the gardening season. I will share some of my photos of lilies with you here so that all members can see them and add their own pics of lilies that they grow.
This first one is a LA lily called Aladdin Sun. LA lilies are a cross between longiflorum and Asiatic lilies.
I get my lilies now from reputable growers, to be sure that I get healthy and true to name bulbs. This one comes from Valley K Lily Ranch, formerly Valley K Greenhouse or plantlilies.com
Lilies in your garden
Well thank you Pirl. You're not doing so bad there yourself.
I adore 'Morden Butterfly' echoes, it is a must and for me it is so tough to capture just how beautiful it really is! Enjoying those pictures as the garden is near rest here. Thanks.
Oh echoes I'm wiping the drool off of my keyboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Order form for Valley K is now on my toolbar! :D :D :D
Lynette is a gem, the owner of Valley K Lily Ranch. I love the selection of both the older, nearly lost from the garden varieties, to the newest lilies around. Then there is her website, with some of the most amazing lilies currently undergoing trials. It's just a real pick me, especially in the middle of winter.
Have fun shopping lilypon ;)
http://valleyk.com/ I was so caught up in there it took me awhile to get back! ;D
I will and thank you magnolialover and echoes! :D
Just one more for tonight, an Asiatic that just keeps getting better for me, Sally Jo Ann.
You better hurry Pam, I just notice her catalogue keeps getting smaller as she sells out, Looks like Sally Jo Ann is gone now.

Very nice Echoes
I have on order: Royal Oak,Raspberries and Cream, Hello Dolly and Royal Perfume.
There were a couple others I wanted but ordered too late and sold out.
What colour is Royal Oak? Don't worry, there's always next year. What were you looking for? maybe I have.
I'm afraid to list what I ordered (echoes I'm going to have to avoid your links for a long, long time). :
Forgot to mention those are all Asiatic, I need to order some Orientals.
Red Velvet is amazing. It definitely goes on my list.
