Bonnie - your DD is lucky to have so many. Many, many times I moved on my own - no help. The first time my ex & I moved, our 18 yo neighbour and his dad watched us struggling, and never helped. Other times we had people say they'd come, but then no one did. Another time my ex hurt his back, shovelling snow, so I moved the two of us and our kids........ on my birthday. yeeeeeee hawwwww.
Ah well, enuff venting.
Bonnie - I hope you get some time to relax, and it's great that your DD is in a beautiful home now, instead of a tiny place!! and 8 min away!! wow - doubly nice! It's a good thing you both shopped around ^_^

Good evening everyone!
LOL Jaye, you are too funny!
Bon moving book flat out sucks. That's amazing how many people showed up! I'm with Susan, people will promise the moon. Great that she has a nice place now, and be glad she's into books, it could be a lot worse.
Dang, just choked on my cereal.
Uh, my house is a mess! I've been shopping entirely too much on crafty stuff and now I've all this in my floor and on my dining table aaggghhhh!! I'll clean it tomorrow.
Me and Diana next door went to a couple antique malls, oh they have some cute cute stuff and I bought, so much for saving money. I'll take pics tomorrow and show ya'll.
I've got to go to bed, got up at 6 yesterday morning, Biker Rally in Hot Springs this weekend so went to that last night after Dave got home from work at 11:00pm, got home at 3am, I was up at 8am and been up ever since.
Bon lets go find a hot tub!
Susan, hope you're able to get your brand new machine fixed.
Why can't we see money as cute, and thus must be kept??? Okay Crissy, will be looking forward to see what you can't resist at those antique stores.
Meant to comment on that lovely fuschia Trisha. I love them, but they don't love this weather here.
Gosh, it's bedtime and I feel a migraine coming :(
Good night ladies.
ewwwww migraines........... yikers! Take care, hon, and hope it's gone by am.
hahahaha Jaye - $$ as "cute"? hmmmmmmm ya might have something there!! lol
well, I'm going right now to buy some thread (I got a hint from a friend that Coates is absolutely the Wrong thread to use.........and that's mostly what I have lol), and other stuff....... I love it when WalMart is open 24/7 cuz then I can shop when it's not "family time" and all the kids straddle the aisleways lol It's nice and quiet then.........
~Susan~
Morning everyone! Coffee, and pancakes are on!
Jaye, hope your headache is all better!
Susan, hope that sewing machine is working better now. Was it the thread, or the needle? They can be sooo frustrating sometimes...
Crissy, sounds like yover did it this week-end. Hope you got some sleep?
Bon you over did it too, but glad to hear she is in a new and bigger place!
Crissy, when you find the hot tub, let me know please. Oh I think Cindy said she had one, I will meet you in California! LOL
Don't leave home without me, LK! California here we come.. oh boy!!
Didn't sleep till 3 in the morning. Migraine defeated Excedrin :(
So, I'm late for church. Will miss bible class again.
See you all later. Thanks for the coffee LK, that might help wake me up!
Oh yeah Susan, are you using 50 wt. thread?
Adios!
Morning Ladies,
Will be going on 2nd date with Steve today. He has been busy working which is really good as work was really slow. As for the hot tub...................it's in Marysville with that jerk of a Rick. I didn't have any place to put it here. But hey go here and check this one out, I'll be getting one of these soon.
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/search/search.asp?r=Page%3A%2FDefault.asp+KW+Box&s=SEARCH&a=search&k=hot+tub.
Meet ya'll in CA. CINDY HERE WE COME!!!!!
Jaye have a good time at church, migraines are horrible. I have a headache this morning, slept wrong again. I'm just going to have to have a discussion with this neck of mine...
It's raining here so I'm doing nothing but chatting with anyone here. I need to put snow on my project but I need a palette knife and I don't know what that is.
Oh ok, thank you Cindy! I need to go get one of those, but I bet I have something around the house I can use. I wanted to put glitter on the whole thing but don't want to spray it in the house and you can't use it in humidity and yesterday it was about 80% and today it's raining, so glitter is out.
So here are the things I got at the antique malls yesterday. My computer is real slow at loading pics so please be patient.
The Halloween stuff:
Black Cat
Haunted Tea light Candle Castle
Ghost Sign
Ah me. how are my sisters today?
woke up a bit stiff, but surprisingly happy with the worked muscles. Crissy, where's that hot tub? I'm so THERE. You're photos are so great. y'all are so crafty, I'm always ashamed of my meager efforts.
Jaye, thought $ was a tool, to use. as long as it works, I'm happy.
Thanks for kind comments. She is blessed, but in past her self esteem was so low, she thought no one really liked her and was certain she wasn't smart. Darn kid scored 1410 on SATs and she thinks she's not smart. Shhhesh! she is a natural leader. her fiance tells us she comes home from garage sales with newly made friends! (I could cream her ex bfriend.)
to install her dryer, they needed to change out the plug for 3 prong. one fella she's known since HS is coming back over today to do that. by 8pm yesterday they'd installed the washer, assembled her new (used) queen canopy bed, placed all the furniture, reassembled the bookshelves and had the patio all set up I'm going over to pick up leftover boxes later and take them a cooler so they can transfer food from frig. will get some photos when I go. they are at old place today cleaning. it hasn't been painted in over 12 years, since he moved in as a freshman in college!
Bonnie I didn't make those, bought them yesterday when me and Diana went out antique mall shopping yesterday. For my first craft, other than Betty's Santa workshop last year, I'm making a bbb house for the swap, I guess it's ok to start with a house as your first real project on your own... LOL I'll post pics when I'm done, but at this rate it's going to be a few more days :(
Wow, sounds like my house I moved from a couple years ago when we moved here to Arkansas. It had been my grandparents house and over 20 years since anything had been done (exterior and interior paint, carpets, drapery, everything.) It got a complete overhaul then I sold it.
Good Day, ev1!! Hope it's going great! ^_^
I have a hot tub!! ^_^ ^_^ I plan on using it today, before starting on our 1st night of Bowling league ^_^
Jaye - I don't know what wt the thread is, but I went and got some Singer Mercerized Cotton thread, and it seems to be doing the trick! I didn't change the needle, tho. I'm XX my fingers that I'm not rushing the saying of it doing the trick lol
Well, just popped in for a few - between choir practice, church, shopping, quilt blocks and 1st night of bowling, I'm just a liiiiiiiiiiitle bit on the run today lol
Hope eve1 has a wonderful day.
~Susan~
Okay Cindy.. which one are you interested in? The Spa-2-Go or the Portable one?
And do fill in the juicy details on your second date! Maid Marion wants to know :D
Crissy, I'm in love with the window frame birdhouse collage. You have a keen eye, and do like the couple free standing birdhouses. Will you be adding character to your yard with more? Bring me along on your next trip.
Yes Bonnie, money is a necessary tool. The time of bartering is over.
Your daughter, I pray, will be in this happy place forever. Seems that is all she needs to get her self esteem back.. of course, a man who really appreciates her.
Susan, hope you've finished your blocks. Don't know Wallyworld carries Singer mercerized thread. Hmm..
I slept after church this afternoon. Now I got this giant headache from sleeping too much!!!! Sheesh...
Guess I'll watch Design Star, read a little to tire my eyes and maybe treat myself to a warm glass of milk.
Oh.. sistah Judy... if you're lurking.. I think that talk was waaaaaaaaay
overdue!!!
Hope you my sistahs have had a restful Sunday.
ROFLOL!! Jaye, hope you are feeling much, much better tomorrow. Been a busy weekend with running around and putting a few hours in outside between the rain storms.
Jaye hope your headache gets better.......
Hi, Marion.....hope you had a good weekend.
Everyone have a good night!
now, see, Jaye, the Lord says we should rest on the Sabbath. you're just following the commandments here. ;o)
am soooo bad. when I played, I used to tell folks that suggested I use a quiet meditative prelude, "it's my job to wake 'em up and get 'em ready to listen. It's the preacher's job to put them back to sleep!"
Morning Ladies
Sorry I havent been on much but this darn cold, flu or whatever it is isnt going away without a fight. Spent all day yesterday resting and woke up last night twice sweating, now this morning I have a fever.. Uggghhh I called the boss and told him I was gonna burn this outta me today and would be in tomorrow.. Hes so sweet and said just to get better no need freaking people out working with a fever in the shop. I figure if I cant reak it by lunch Ill climb into a bottle of firewater and burn it out that way.. Never fails I get a day of feeling better then boom Im back where I was to start with. Cant go get flu shot because Im already sick so that has to wait too..

Donna
Good morning! Cofffee is on!
Donna hope your feeling better, but please rememeber that tha fluis going around too. Go get your self checked out if it does not go away! And don't go out and contaminate everyone! Stay home and get rid of that crud.
Trisha, has Laura hear anything from her interview?
Nice and cool here this morning. All of 60 degrees. I have some brugs that are bout to open. They just love this cooler weather!
I will be sewing most of today, I need to clear the table. Todd Sister is comeing to visit in a few weeks, and I need to clean house.
Hope everyone has a great Monday1
LK
Morning Ladies,
We are getting RAIN!!! Yippie!!! Jaye, I think I'm going to be getting the "Bubble Hot Tub" but not for awhile yet. Will need to make a platform for it in the back yard first.
Well my second date with Steve didn't happen, something came up with his mother. But this coming Saturday we are planning a fishing trip and it's suppose to be 96 that day.
Ug, 96 on a fishing trip, that's too hot for me to fish, I'm a fair weather fisherman lol! Yay for the rain though! Did you show us a picture of Steve, I think you did. I'm going to go look on the previous thread.
Susan I'll be over after work to enjoy your hot tub :)
I had a wardrobe malfunction this morning, realized I bought all of those goodies this weekend and forgot to buy nylons.
Hello Sistah's all!
how are you doing? Enjoying this spectacular day? I know I sure am.
Feeling better today (have a wicked cold) So excited got my HW swap, must have been Sat!
Anyhow, It's a wooden Witch for my door! Arms and legs are adjustable...a n d it was our favorite artist Betty, yippeee.
Jaye and Kel, you two are awsom. Thank you, I so enjoyed our chat. You are right, way too long since last time.
...seriously thinking about the apron swap, hahah think you talked me into the next one, and guess what?
forgot to tell you, Liz brought me an apron pattern . Now I have to go searching for it again. I put it away so it doesn’t get ruined. It’s a very old pattern, never been used., told her I’ll copy the pattern pieces and use those, I want to keep the original, Original! Lol. Anyway, I just love it, guess how much the it cost, printed in bold 35 cents!! So, that should be fun.
LOL, then I got side tracked trying to locate that letter, I was telling you about.
You are so sweet, thank you for your support, will d-mail you when I find it.
Any, yes, Sistahs, I am keeping up with reading about all of your days. .
The good, the sad and so forth. Prayers and Armwraps to everyone.
Had a nice fire last night, wow haven’t had one in ages. So that was really a nice way to end the weekend.
My, gosh hard to believe all the leaves that are already falling. Today, I guess I will do some clean up, my yard is starting to look scarey again!
Oh, Bon..I hope your back and feet and everything is better, I can feel your sore muscles, Used to toss around 65 pound boxes of books on a regualr basis! LOL, now I am lucky to pick up a single book!
Cindy, I hope you will enjoy the fishing trip. Your man is a cutie, but then so are you.
There is tons I would love to comment on, however, It would take me an entire day. So I will try and jump in on conversation better…
Hows about a cup of coffee.?
Enjoy the morning.
Hey Ladies, I have not posted a pix of Steve. But here is one but he looks a little different now. His hair is real long down to the middle of his back. He keeps it in a ponytail. He is such a sweetheart, and funny. I really need "Depends" when I'm with him, lol. A hard worker too. Not lazy like Rick. He's always happy nothing gets him down.
You didn't? Could swear you posted him, OK, who's cutie was on a motorcyle??
Thanks for the coffee, Judy!
Jaye - Wallworld DOESN'T sell Singer - had to go to a small grocery store (Co-op - just down the street) to get some LOL
All Wallyworld sells is Coates......
Maybe I'll use Coates for hand sewing....
Crissy - come on over & enjoy the hot tub. A week ago I emptied it and cleaned it out well - good ole vinegar will clean anything well lol The water sure was good for my back lawn! We're so dry here that Everything loves water - It's an 8-person hot tub, so you can imagine how much water there was lol
Well, work is calling me, so gonna head out of the room, and wish you all a wonderful day! :-)
~Susan~
Good character traits Cindy! Steve is a cutie. Love the smiling eyes!!!
Ok Susan! Dang I wish all of DG friends lived together in one neighborhood called the DG Association, no fees because we like to do our own gardening, unless you're not a DG member, and once you become a member, no more fees! LOL
Cindy he's cute!
Judy, the guy on the motorcycle is Doug we never got to meet. I'm a totally open and honest person. So I told him about living with my mom and being deaf and I guess that turned him off, same thing with Larry. Steve said they were jerks and he was glad that I didn't meet them because then he would have not got to meet me. We are chatting IM now. He is sick has swollen glands and aching joints. But still is cracking jokes. He keeps me laughing all the time. I had a great work out at Curves this morning, burned 588 calories and did 100% on all but 2 machines. WHOOO!!
Yay Cindy! Some men just are looking for the perfect person. They're going to be shocked when they finally figure out there is no such thing as a perfect person.
WHAT? Crissy you have burst my bubble I have lived with all these years. My late hubby told me I was the perfect person and am I to start doubting that? ROFLOL
Morning all! ok, so my morning is already passed. taking it a bit easy today. doing some laundry. waiting for Dee to email me a list of irises for sale. can't wait!
for any sister that wants some cheap irises, Nicky has an ad in the Classifieds on here. her shipping rate is so low she's going to lose money on it, too. I met her at the AIS national conference and she's a hoot and then some. knows her stuff, and she has an extensive iris collection she's thinning. she also has quite a camera and took some fabulous shots on the garden tours. but everytime I turned my camera her way, she shot me a look that could kill! but if you could see her, she'd fit right in with that crew that was at BJ's on Memorial Day! I'd recommend her irises. I just put in an order yesterday for a few.
I know, I know, I don't have anywhere to put them. did I tell y'all I found 3 gal black nursery pots used on craigslist? bought over 1,000!
$80. so, yeah, I can pot them up!
Donna, this be bootleg country, where all the Nascar drivers got their start! wish I could send you some white lightening! get better girl. I've already had that crud and it's nasty.
Cindy, that fella reminds me of Randall. if he treats you well, give him a hug from me!
Marion, we all KNOW you're perfect^_^
cooked a roast beef a few days ago and thin sliced the leftovers. y'all come around for lunch, ya hear? your choice, for the ones in hot weather, I've got fancy bread and sliced swiss cheese to add. for the ones too cold already (leaves falling? already??!!) we've got leftover brown gravy and can make mashed potatos, so open faced sandwiches of them. fresh salads on the side. the beef was on sale, so I've got enough for everyone! Donna, unless you're upchucking, this is good comfort food.
A quick wave to everyone...got Sage off to school and now to get on with the day...mom needs to go grocery shopping so that is first on the list.
Donna sure hope you get over this soon..not fun being sick.
Cindy he is good looking...sounds like a real nice guy.
LK, no, she is still looking....I always look at it to mean there is something better waiting for her....her brother thinks she should apply at Alpine....the store he and Bill work for...and I think that would be a good place for her.
Have to run, will catch up with everyone later........
Wow, everyone is up, and so busy already!
Leaves are trying to fall here too, what little bit we h ave. Just Arizona ash trees. I hate those little propeller things, they always fall on the car.
Trisha, I agree, on the job for Laura, maybe it just wasn't meant to be, there will be a better one for her. Hope she applies for the one Alpine! I wish her luck!
Once I lived where there were no jobs for me. there were also few service type folks around (read "minorities" here). I made a job for myself as a maid. got together with two friends from church and let a few friends know we would work as a maid service. we'd pick up folks' keys, go by their place, where they'd leave out $$ and a list of things they'd want done that day (extras, I mean). we could clean the average house in 2 hours, leave the key behind. This was back in 1970s-80s, and we'd get $10/hr ea for the crew, so $40 or $50 to clean a house, extras cost extra. we were reliable church ladies, so trustable. before we knew it, we had more work than we could do, mostly doctors' homes, homes of widowers and such, a small business or two, a few handicapped folks. I had a college degree, but the best other work I could get was an entry level job at $4/hr. with my degree, so I loved it. we'd set our hours around my kids' daycare's hours. folks loved it, because if they couldn't speak Spanish, the only other maid workers available were wetback Mexicans. and we did such careful work (they supplied the cleaning supplies or paid us for them if they didn't have them), we'd even run the vacuum cleaners so as to leave no footprints anywhere!
One house we never quite got clean no matter how hard we worked: a cattle ranch/potato farm (this was Idaho), with a widower, his widower FIL and four sons ages 8-18. A BIG house, and his dead wife was a dear friend of my partners. that man was a sweetie, but no one else did anything except the dishes (sons) and cook (FIL). It would take one of us (ususally me) 4 hours a week just to clean the kitchen!! yuck!! but that man kept me in free fresh russet potatos while I worked for him, even let me bring my newborn along and nurse him on the job! everyone let us play their stereos as we worked, too. doing it with friends, it hard work, and a ton of fun!
