OK thanks JJ, I have blue columbines. I try to dead head them when they end blossoming, unless I plan on collecting the seeds.
STORIES OF BASIL,LAMBIC AND CORN
JJ I did extra reps yesterday! And I am feeling it today! Now I gotta do extra tomorrow.. and extra cardio too reading that list... boy I could go for a chocolate cream donut! Well at least you got SOME veggies in there....or are those for the kids & husband? lol
Kassy do those puffballs taste anything like portabellas?
(Yes I'm hungry lol...had lunch at noon and just now got home....)
Moon I'm glad you started a new thread, I fell asleep last night trying to think what to call it so everybody would find it...
Hello Dave, Venice, Trina...
No Venise, I ate almost half of that big mushroom.................BF wonders why I'm not real interested in dessert................LOL
Luckly all we had other then that was a burger and beans from the garden. He had some chips.
They taste like sauted mushrooms, but very big ones. Walked out of the house and came back in and could smell mushroom, butter and garlic.
I have to send those picture to my son, he loves mushrooms.................Maybe him and I will have to have a stirfry with them, if any are ok when I go back home yet.
Kassy, you ate 1/2 of that big thing? I can't imagine eating much mushrooms.
Did it taste like a white mushroom or more like a portabella?
Corn looks great!
Kassy I deadheaded them this year. (when it wasn't raining). I don't collect seeds cause I can't make em grow. Tried it once waste of my time.
I have minature hollyhocks I let reseed themself.
Sauted mushrooms MMMMM
Lynnie now we know why I never have to worry about being to thin. I don't like carrots.LOL
Have to justify myself here. Some of it is for others. We don't have a store here so when there is a good sale I buy alot and freeze it.
You know, I have never had a portabella. We usually get just the white ones.
And actually I didn't eat half of it, I still have 2 slices of it waiting in the dish for me, but I'm more then full.............
1 hamburger
green beans from the garden
and the mushroom
FULL!!!!!
I though Lynn would like the corn ^_^
This is what I found on them, because I have to figure out what I am going to do with the rest of them yet......
Cooking
Puffballs have a rich, penetrating, earthy flavor. These gourmet mushrooms won't get lost in a recipe, even when there are lots of other ingredients or strong seasonings. I've baked pear-shaped puffballs into an intense wild sourdough bread, the mushroom flavor emerges strong and clear.
Puffballs stand up to virtually every form of cooking. You can sauté them, simmer them in soups, cook them with grains, and even bread and bake them in a casserole if they're large enough. They generally cook in about 7-15 minutes. The smaller species dehydrate well. To store the larger ones long-range, cook and freeze them.
so did I miss anything good?
I think they are all taking a nap!
figures I come back and everyone leaves..
I feel so unloved!
booohooo
very nice JJ, I have double hollyhocks in the front but the neighbors evil mutts knocked them all down right when they were getting ready to bloom....ripped 3 of them completely out of the ground
oh I like the red sedum...i'd be satisfied for now with some columbine....
In about an hour I will be in heaven
I LOVE roses! if you check out the avocado thread you can see all my plants pretty much
Nah kids go to bed...I'll be all by myself...silence oh sweet silence
How do you get teenagers in bed by 9? I can't get a 9 yr old to go without a fight.
My DH pulled up that hibiscus and it came back and bloomed. Happy dance!!
I haven't had a japanese bettle problem
Kassy I'm pretty sure they're hiding in there! Look at JJ that corn has gone clear up to her neighbor's porch!
Jim I still need you to tell me about dormant oil.
Trina & JJ all your pictures are so pretty.
kassy I do wish you would try a portabella for comparison & let us know. That puffball sure looks beefy.
Dave that chocolate looks yummy. Any of those cocoa plants grow well as houseplants?
Moon where are you? Venice, Ican, Rachel....Smileymom.....??
