So Mary (tillysrat) has Shelly's number and has given her a call. Mary got an answering machine and left a message. We'll see -- lots of people have dmailed Shelly.
I emailed a guy on the Internet after doing a search - said he new her from the Forest Service. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
I'm hoping it's just that her computer is down . . .
Old photos part 2
Maria, I think Vienna is the most civilized city in the world! But when I was on the subway there in late June, people didn't use a good deodorant!! Americans may be less civilized but they worry about smelling bad. Must be all the advertising for those products. I think there are different values and many ways to live.
Boojum, you could be right about people on the subway since I have noticed that too in Boston, New York and other cities I have visited
Stereotypes are the first step toward misunderstanding.
People are people 'Wherever'.
Great photo! Your mom is beautiful! You stand out, as usual, Victor! LOL!
Thanks, Phoebe! Sadly my uncle in that shot passed away last fall. One of so many tobacco deaths in my family. In ten years I have lost six aunts and uncles to it.
I'm so sorry...That's an awful lot of sadness. If we had only known sooner.....My mom died of lung CA too. I remember walking to the corner store for her when I was in grade school and buying her cigs for 28 cents a pack. She did not quit smoking til after her diagnosis.
Thanks. I bought them for my mom too. Luckily she stopped a long time ago and, so far, so good.
Love the look on your sister's face, Victor. Sorry to hear about the tobacco victims in your family.
Maria, true about the subways in US cities, too! Enough said!
Thanks, Kathy. That's my cousin. Sis wasn't born yet at that point.
Cute picture of your family, Victor. Everybody looks so optimistic and happy. And precious shot of your grandson and of a precious (quiet) moment.
Victor, Very pretty Mom & cute you! Although I didn't recognize youin the Frosty picture.
booj, beautiful shot. They are just so perfect when sleeping like that.
He's a hellion when awake! Victor, you're the tallboy in the pic, right?
Thanks, Dave. No, I'm on the right with the blond hair , booj.
Ah!
do you sleep with frosty?
Depends on her mood.
very quick!
CUte victor! Brings back memories of the new pajamas we always got for Christmas much like in your photo. My sister and I still send each other PJs for Christmas as a tradition. Every year it gets harder to find flannel ones, much less ones with feet :-))
Adorable grandson boo! He looks so huggable:-)
^_^
Thanks, Joyce.
Thanks, jadajoy!
I agree, Kathy--he's a doll---just came back home from sitting my 3---I had to read Purplicious to the girls----Grant is into Baby Einstein books---for about 3 seconds!
Go an email from Shelly today. Whew!! She's fine. Her computer broke and Precious has needed veterinary care, so she couldn't buy another.
It sounds like Precious is okay. But in addition to those things, she was sent to a fire in California (no phone, no computer) and she ruptured a tendon in her finger, an injury that may require surgery.
So she apologizes for worrying anyone and says she'll be back as soon as she can.
Yippee!!
i just recieved the same email katie - glad to know she is ok.
;-) As I used to say to my boyfriends, "Whatever you tell me will be infinitely better than what I will imagine if you don't say anything . . ." Guess that works the same for me in this situation, as well.
Yes, me too. Good news overall, but bummer on the finger, kitty and computer.
Yeah, and they don't really know what's wrong with Precious, either, so that's screwy.
How old is she?
I think she's 19 . . .
Wow - already a ripe old age for a cat.
Thanks for the update on Shelly.
You're welcome.
If you talk to her again, let her know she's missed, & we're praying for her 2 bad situations.
Yes, thanks for the update and say Hi!!!
