Table??? I do seem to remember one being put in our house........... oh, you mean the round wood thingie in the (what do you call it where you feed guests? oh yeah.........) dining area. But our guest usually do the same thing, unless it's Christmas or Thanksgiving....
We juggle on our laps LOL
The round thingie is for mail, mostly junk mail, and receipts and such............it's re-purposed lol

Susan, Kel's a Redneck as you know. And he has this wondrous gift of standing against the wall eating out of a hubcap :*(
Sigh....

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Thanks for the prayers everyone. The interview is next Tues.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Hahahahaha Kel - "you know you're a redneck when.................you eat out of a hubcab, pressed up against the wall" LOL LOL LOL roflmfbo!!!
I'm picturing it................

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

TA DA.......yeah its only 4 in the picture but here they are fudge monkeys

Raleigh, NC

And he has this wondrous gift of standing against the wall eating out of a hubcap ROTFLMAO yup, that qualifies as a good SOUTHERN redneck. them yankee rednecks insist on using the wheel hubs.

Phyllis, you reminded me that we stopped in Hershey PA and bought chocolates fresh from the factory. Oh my, they are very very creamy that way. now where is my stash - got to pass some around. and the red Twizzlers were so soft....

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

ohhhh Hershey PA a great place to stop ...was there years ago when the kids were lil ...am thinking it had something to do with someones wedding to but heck If I remember for sure just remember touring the place and got some chocolate too

Cindy, Randall says that when a man says he doesn't want a woman with "baggage" he means no kids, and no ex husbands or crazy ex boyfriends. told him you are our age, so that's not an issue, but he reminded me with grown kids there are grandkids, and kids whoe never stop needing help. come to think of it, at our age, it could even mean a parent you're caring for. from asking him, I get a sense he means anything that takes your time away from being with the man.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Phyllis, love the fudge monkeys! They look yummy!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That's exactly what baggage is, and he's ridiculous! He doesn't want a woman very bad then, does he? Everyone has family, maybe like me and not much, but I still have my parents alive and they're only in their 60's. Shoot, Dave still has both parents, a slew of siblings, nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, talk about baggage! He better plan on being alone for awhile longer. How old is he? And you're going to tell me he doesn't have baggage of some sort? Good Grief. That makes me mad...

Love the Fudge Monkeys!!! Way way cute! I'm so glad you found a mold Phyllis!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Love the monkeys!!!!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

thanks girls knew ya would like them ...my son is hounding me to let him have one already LOL

Morning Ladies

I have fresh coffee and cinamon rolls ready if anyone would like some..

Today is my day off well if you can call it that.. I have a bathroom Im halping Max with painting then at noon a haircolor - haircut & style.. Slow last couple of weeks at the barbershop so we are working doing whatever we can to try to make the rent by sunday..

Someone put a BB through our trucks front window sitting out front of the house.. ughhh Luckily it didnt shatter but I have a nice lil circle now on the passenger side..
we have had two houses broken into on our street and a few thugs have been seen wandering through our area which is NOT normal.. This is a very redneck neighborhood and we know everyone who comes and goes even cars that belong so everyone is on the watch out.. I figure we are safe between Bell and the 2 guns we own if someone comes in here they will not be leaving on foot..

Found out my dad was married before my mom and I have asister somewhere.. That threw me for a loop.. Heck my mom didnt even know he was married before let along I have a half sister.. Very strange that my dad never told me until now. Apparently he says he was married while in teh service in Cali and he doesnt know for sure if the girl is for sure his or not but her other turned up here in town and his current wife ran into her..

My BIL hand is doing better. Th esurgery went very well but its going to be a long road for recovery.. Thank you all for your prayers..

My grandmothers issues are getting worse. Shes acusing my sister of wiping out her bank account (she doesnt even have acess too) . She says my mom stole her jewery box when the moved her (mom has plenty of her own)and is just downright being very mean. She got into the car with someone she didnt know then tried to jump out when the lady told her she was taking her home .. Poor grandma really is losing it.. My mom is a mess trying to help deal with her but she (grandma) only wants my sisters attention since she has always been the "chosen one" as far as the family oes.. Never had any use for any of us but her lil miss lyndell... O well now I suppose my sister is getting what she deserved for taking advantage of grandmas help while she ws able..

Sorry I havent been able to keep up lately just alot happening.. I will check in later today fter I get my running/work done..

Aw top posted.. lol well add my morning goodies to breakfast okay...

By the way BonJon I Havent forgotten about you.. I started to look up teh first frost date but havent found it yet.. Ican say by the 11th of october sometimes there is snow or frost by the fair.. On teh same hand I have a tree on my street that has lready started flashing fall color so It may be earlier,.. I dunno

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hi Donna. Was just wondering what you're up to.
Wow! Some serious family info your dad left out huh? Wouldn't you like to meet her? There's always DNA tests if your dad needs proof.
Good to know your BIL is doing better.
It's gonna be a battle with your grandma's Alzheimer. Only advice I can share is to make sure she's not a danger to herself or to anyone.
My late MIL (ex) almost blew up the house when she turns on the gas stove. Don't be upset if she chose to 'recognise' only one member of your family. You know her memory's gone.

Hate to read you get some stupid idiots shooting at your truck! I'd have called the police if you see the thugs again.

I think crime's on the increase everywhere. Here in this little county, there are so many that had chosen to be career criminals. Sad thing is the local jail just keep releasing them on bail.. after bail.. after bail.
Don't keep any firearms in this house. Perhaps Kel can be persuaded into owning one.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I don't have any weapons at all either Jaye, and it's really unsafe even though I am out in the woods. Dave's eyesight isn't all that great in his right eye, and he's right handed so that doesn't work, and I hate shooting guns because of the kickback from them.

I do have a pellet gun...

Iey yey yey gonna take some cold medicine and it smells like dog poo in the office, has everyone cracking up.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

This is the beautiful prayer that LK's pic has.

Good Morning Lord,
through my time of sleep, if it's a peaceful sleep, or if I tossed and turned, I know that You were with me.
Thank You Lord.
As I awake, if the sun is shining brightly or if the skies look ominous, with dark, threatening clouds, I know that You are with me.
Thank You Lord.

As I prepare to face the challenges and opportunities of the day,
I know that You will be with me and guide me through both the struggles and the joys.
Thank You Lord.

I pray not only for myself but also for my family, and those I come into contact with in the coming hours.
I know that You will be with them.
Thank You Lord.

Now I ask Your presence in my life, that Your will be done through me.
I know that You will guide me.
Thank You Lord.

Lord, what do You want me to do today? I know that You will tell me.
I pray for the strength and courage to follow as You lead.
Thank You Lord,
Amen

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

That's a lovely prayer that I think I'll keep saying every day! There are parts of it that I always say - such as the last part, cuz I know that I don't always know his will.......

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Well, after prayers each morning, we sing the Doxology. Then when things sometimes go sour during the course of the day... I'll sing that again. So comforting. Can't believe it's written in the 1600's.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

That is a long time ago............just thinking about how hard times were then makes me glad I'm alive now. The hardships they had to go through.............

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi Jaye .. I swear Im here even if Im just lurking from time to time.. lol

Well we got the bathroom painted and my color appointment done along with the promise of more buisiness becaus ehse LOVED her hair.. Max even has an upgrade to the bathroom and he will be installing a new floor too..

As for my dad I really dont know what to say. He says he claomed her because he was married to her mother and that was it. He wont tell me anything more,, Heck my mom didnt even know he was married before her so its all a mystery..

Grandma will be a whole other story as it goes along. Just hard as you all understand..

Th enieghbors spotte dthe thugss again.. Ugghhh But they have been warned that if they wanna walk through so be it but the first time they are caught messing around by any of our nieghbors that we dont expect them to see the cops comming. I grew up hunting froma young age and fortunatel yI was always very handy with a gun. We have a Rossi 38 special (ia issue) and a 22 rifle.. Im hoping for a 12 guage for my birthday this year so I can go deer hunting with my uncles and with any luck my dad.. I figure between shooting an intruder or Bella jumping them we should be just fine.. She has gotten very protective of the house and backyard..

Well I need to check a few thing s and go gather some seeds before Tony gets outta school

Good afternoon everyone. It is an Aleve kind of day....hip and legs aching, we have a weather front coming in, clouds and rain with a light wind, just enough to upset the dog...she is pacing and "talking".......so once the Aleve kicks in, looks like a house cleaning kind of day.

Have a great afternoon....

My feathered friends stocking up this morning.....

Aw look at those Trisha, way cute!

Donna, your situation reminds me of a situation I had one time in my life. I was working as a graveyard dispatcher for a community college and we hired a new security guard, also on graveyard, he might have been on swing, I don't remember. Anyway, we got to talking and my dad was a gigolo of sorts and it's always been told that I'm an only child. I look, walk, and act like my dad, big time, This new security guard, Kevin, looked like a male version of me, everything was the same and I think we were 2 years apart or something. We never noticed anything and other co-workers started mentioning that we looked A LOT alike. There were pictures of all of the employees hanging on the wall, so we started sizing each other up. Turns out he had no idea who his dad was, so we were wondering if we were half siblings. He eventually got a girlfriend so I just let it go and not interfere with the relationship, but always wondered what happened to him and what's going on. That was back in the mid 1990's.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Donna, can you eat them? Never heard of a buckeye! I knew Ohio, was the buckeye state, but never knew it was a nut? Guess we learn something everyday!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'll be taking pictures of those thugs Donna.

Don't think buckeyes are edible? Are they?

Take care Trisha. We're of that age where our joints can predict the weather for us :D

Crissy, there's this Filipina lady that looks just like me, back in Louisiana. But I know my dad couldn't have done something illicit as he's never left the country till I was 12.
Somewhere, we'll have a twin I guess.

Well, Kel just called. Chemo takes longer than usual. So, he decided we'll eat out again tonight. Might stop at Michael's if we have time.

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

No Buckeyes are not edible..

Although .. The peanut butter and chocolate buckeyes I make are VERY edible.. Better thana reeses PB Cup.. Yummmm

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Jaye you asked about watercolors....these are some, in various stages of completion, that I was working on six or eight years ago........

As I have said before, I am out of practice and it may take a bit to get back to this point, much less improve on it..

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Your watercolors are lovely, please get back to them and let us see more of your work. I would love to be able to paint like that.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Pegi,You can if you really want to.....I got a whole stack of books ( bought some, others from the library), a pad of watercolor paper and an inexpensive set of paints and just started reading and trying to follow the instruction.....most of the things in that collage are just projects out of the books......Depression and Life got in the way for awhile, but I would seriously like to get back to playing with my paints again.........may even look into some classes.

Raleigh, NC

oh blast. that's what I get for waking up again and reading all night. missed breakfast. sausage gravy and biscuits my fav -

afternoon sisters!

One quick comment - I'm still getting confidential email routings every now and then from my old security job. one I read was from local police. They were expecting, and are getting, a substantial increase in property crimes and thefts, due to economy. I shop craigslist a lot, and I've been seeing a lot of ads for "new" merchandise with photos of it in someone's back yard. These types of ads I don't trust at all - I suspect I'd be buying stolen merchandise. barely used is one thing. Who buys tools and then sells them without using them for the job they were bought for and then dumps them at 1/3 or 1/4 the price of new? it's too easy to return them! with a receipt, of course....

Donna, don't feel too bad. we have a great neighborhood, but the word went out in June that someone was breaking into cars. Not caught yet. would you please come bowhunt deer in my backyard? those pesky critters keep uprooting and tossing irises about. And hang in there - whether it's senior dementia or worse, the symptoms are all the same, and what your gran is doing is 100% normal for that disease, especially the cracks about folks stealing.

feeling still better today, so we just got back from running errands: credit union, pay the Visa, pay the car payment, pick up Subway foot longs for lunch. That's our every other Thursday routine.

LK, I'm going to print out that poem and stick it to my bathroom mirror. Loved it.

Phyllis, I want a fudge monkey, too...maybe trade you some Hersheys?

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Trisha your watercolors are great! I havent done any of that type in a long time.. School I think..

Bon I dont have a bow.. lol would love to get some fresh venison though..

Sorry just had to pop back in.. Finally just about have my to do list for the day done...

O anyone else have fndraisers comming home yet? Seems ur school (tristen) finally smartened up and are selling bulbs and earth friendly stuff as well as the old stand by goodies.. I even saw frog ice cube trays.. how cute..

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Just don't have that much confidence in myself, at least I can recgonize that in myself. Found a book I had on painting birdhouses and a lot of patterns in it. Now am wondering why I bought that book and never tried any of that. I am so close to a library and still don't go over there and look for things I'm interested in. I think the computer has taken over my life. How do you break that addiction????
