Great news Bon!!!

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Hello all my Sistahs, Thank every one for your continued prayers for me...God is good..I had the MRI today and my Dr. called to tell me THERE IS NO CANCER!
The places on my leg are just what some of you said, fatted tumors.
Bon, I don't know the story involving the IRS, but sure glad you are free of them. Just the name is enough to make me panic.
Sure hope everyone is safe from the fire. Has to be the most devastating thing to fear your home going up in smoke.
You ladies sure have beautiful blooms in your gardens, and as usual, I want everything I see.
Stay well all, you are all loved and needed.

Raleigh, NC

thanks y'all. I've asked Jaye to add my sinus illness to the prayer list. I'm just not kicking it.

But I've felt well enough earlier that I met with someone from Craigslist to buy a burn barrel. Have needed one to burn the leaf spotted leaves on roses and irises - that's a fungus infection and they needed to be burned to prevent spore spreading. got tired of waiting for my neighbor to do a burn in his burnpile. Randall didn't want us to have a burnpile.

In about 30 mins. I leave to drive to Clayton to buy a garden cart on craigslist. on my way home I plan to stop at a Smithfield barbeque for pork barbeque. Can't taste anything not super salty or spicy.

that Netti Pot really has helped a ton. It feels so clean and refreshed inside my poor always messed up sinuses!

have read this room through. feel like I've missed a lot, and boy have I missed y'all my sistahs.

Alhziemers (sp?) and dementia patients are the worst for being quarrelsome, paranoid and difficult. my prayers to any and all caregivers. Been through it with Nana. it's very very common. I think of it as parental revenge on children for their putting up with their adolescense.

Cindy, oh, I have so many thoughts on dating after year 30.....just make sure he's a friend first, before romance. Randall just kept being there for me until I noticed....after everyone else had put an elbow in my ribs and said "pay attention to this guy." LOL if your friends and family like him, that's a key detail.

Donna, now that I've got the burn barrel and temps have dropped, it's time to dig. but like I warned, it'll be a slow process for me. Find out for me when your average first frost date is, will you? I need to get these to you before then.

BJ, do you want me to look around Raleigh for a shop that might take them for you? I'm right here, and while we aren't Atlanta, there are many artsy shops around about, and a fair population with money (not me). Then I could monitor them for you. I would be willing to do that for a sistah, I've seen your bottles and they will sell here. as for watching out - try to find an attorney of your own, too. whoever writes the contract skews it in favor of their client. It usually takes two sets of legal eyes to get a fair one. There should be a clause that says once the merchandise is in their hands, they are responsible for it, and must return it in good order (you'll have to pay the shipping) or submit payment, I should think. If they allow customers to handle it and break it, or allow it to be shoplifted, or repack it poorly so that it comes back broken, that's their loss, not yours. It's their shop, you have no control over the way they run their store. And don't kid yourself, over half of all shoplifting in a small store is the staff doing it or a lazy, inattentive clerk.

Happy Birthday Kim!

Raleigh, NC

oh, and one last comment BJ - the contract will only insure compliance from an essentially honest business partner. A crooked one is going to be naughty no matter what. That's my business experience for you in a nutshell.

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

See Faye..I knew it was going to be OK :))

I am so sorry for everyone's difficulties here. Makes me realize that my life is pretty good. I hate having to be reminded though at someone else's expense.

Got this picture yesterday of my baby Carolina Wrens getting ready to leave the nest.

Thanks ladies for all the advice. I am taking my time. Besides Doug works full time and only has weekends off which he spends working on his house. It is a fixer upper and in many stages of remodel. And I have a lot on my plate too.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Wonderful news indeed Faye!! We'll be dancing in church for sure!!
PTL! AND we need you too!! (((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))

You got it Bon! I've been taking apple cider vinegar lately... and the pungency of the vinegar forced my nostrils to open!! Lol!!! Yes flushing out the sinuses do help too.

Juanita, you'll be sad to see your guests leaving. Now, don't Mama birds push their babies off the nests, and hence forcing the birds to fly? If they nest on ground.. how can they instinctively spread their wings?

Tonight is????? Yes you got it!! Catfish night!!!
Come on Trisha.. plenty for you too!!!
So, I'll see you all in a bit.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy, you're one smart, beautiful woman.
One day at a time, sistah ;)

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Aw Jaye, you are so sweet. BTW here's my new hair style. It has relaxed alot.

Praise the Lord for all the good news!
I went to my knee Dr, today, for a 6 week follow up, and she said so far all is well. I just need to find, and refine the thigh muscles! Then she laid me on the table and gave me 4 shots in my right hip, to try and control that pain!
Ladies, you all get a good nights sleep.
First one up, makes the coffee please?
LK

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Bon - fabulous news (we haven't met - my name is Susan)

Faye - so Great that it's NOT cancer ♫♪♪♫ ^_^ ^_^

I've twisted my hip, or something, cuz it's sure painful! I can't sit down, or stand up, or move properly! (turning or bending is what I'd have to do to move, and That's not gonna happen!)
I called my DH & he's bringing home 2 seafood dinners from Joey's Only Seafood (I don't know if this is only a Canadian restaurant, but they have specials on Tues!)
I'm in pain enuff that I'm gonna play "Diva" for a bit and go into the hot tub...

cya later!

I GOT A JOB INTERVIEW! It’s working in a grocery deli, cooking food and making sandwiches part-time, but it’s a foot in the door. Please I really need this, so any one who wanted to send out good wishes or prayers would be hardily thanked!

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

You got them zhinu..
Ladies, I have had the most romantic evening with the most wonderful man. After I finished with the chairs (Trash to Treasure) added new cushions on the free swing, Ray and I spent the evening just being together. We were on the swing, he was sitting, not me, my head was, (almost said in his lap, but lap he doesn't have) on his belly. Ray spent a lot of the time stroking my head and face and telling me just how much he loves me. And he said for our Anniv. in Oct. we are going to take a trip to PA. We mentioned putting a fire in the fire pit but just didn't want to move. Finally came to the house and got an afghan (very cool outside) so we could stay out longer. LOL...no, no strings attached, nothing expected!
Good night all.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy you ARE beautiful!!! Even Stevie Wonder can see that!!!
Then along with that physical beauty, you have a wonderful personality.
Just look out for the alligators ;)

Trisha, this year, there are hardly any birds around. Miss the pigeons and doves from last year, even the fighting mockingbirds are gone.
Wonder if they grew tired of the feed.

Ouch LK!! So you need pain management for your hip too? Poor you.. hope those shots last a long, long, time.

So sorry to read you twisted your hip, Susan. Perhaps a few more nights of take-out food will bring some relief! Yah, soaking in a hot tub with epsom salt might help too....
Or off to the doctor's!

That is good news Laura. We have nothing but positive thoughts for you and will pray that all goes well for your interview.

Have to beat the sunrise tomorrow.. so I'll bid you all a good night.
Thank you Lord for good news this day.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

How wonderful Faye!!! God bless Ray for loving a precious woman like you ;) Smart man :D
Got to see those chairs.. send us a link.
Good night, sistah!

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Jaye, I do not know how to send the link. Go to : Trash to Treasure: "The Impossible" Or tell me where to find the link. Thanks.

Faye

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Between hot tub, Ibuprophin, motrin, and my DH lending an arm/hand/PULL to get me up, I'm doin' OK

Laura, as I said in the other thread - GOOD LUCK!!^_^ ^_^ ^_^
♪♫♪♫ (hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work you go....)

~Susan~

Raleigh, NC

thanks so much for the well wishes, y'all. I'm too bushed from my first day up on my feet and out the door to read everything.

hello to Faye and Susan. for those that don't know it, Henderson NC area is gorgeous, peaceful and lakelike. great fishing area. so you can picture how nice that swing must be. And Susan, sorry about that hip twist.

Jaye, darn, I loved my barbeque, but catfish, girl, you break my heart.

Laura - fingers crossed on the interview. prayers, too on the way

and before I crash into the bed, Juanita is right. that girl down Clayton way that I bought the garden cart from, that cart wasn't in good shape, and didn't have a handle, it was a pull behind which I didn't need. but she's been out of work for a year and is a recent widow, with a teen at home. she said she's selling everything not nailed down. I was going to walk away, but knew no one else would give her the $ for it. what the heck, a elbow grease, grease, WD40, Rustoleum, and bolts - it'll be a good gift for my old classmate that's giving me garden space. he has a lawn tractor. I was going to offer her $20, but I just couldn't. Gave her $40. I'm just too soft for my own good and for a sad tale....Juanita hit it right on the head. All I could think of was, what if it was my Randall that had died two years ago and I was out of work? I am so blessed.

Raleigh, NC

sweet dreams sweet sisters. these eyse are not moving with these fingers soooo gooood.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LK Hope that pain shot works well, I hate getting shots, they hurt too bad for me.

Susan be careful of that hip, wonder if you pulled something or just have it in a charlie horse.

Faye that is so sweet, you laying on your man and him 'whispering sweet nothings' in your ear. I wish Dave could get a day off to do that, of course we would need to invest in a swing...hhhhmmmm LOL
And those chairs!! That's a lot of work, can't wait to see them with the darker paint!

Laura YAY!!!! Good Luck Girl, just praying you get that job!

Best of Today: Got one of two speakers booked for my conference, confirmation letter mailed too!
Worst of Today: Looking at and learning about the destruction from all of those fires in CA.
Learned: Laura got a job interview and hoping and praying she gets it!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Crissy - never thought about it being a charlie horse, but that sounds about right actually!
hahahaha I have a neighbour who says that I have arthritis, and will require a hip replacement in a couple of years........... siiiiiiiiiigh some people just LOVE to borrow trouble, but I don't!!! I'll be just fine in a couple of days. It happens too often (every 3 - 4 mo or so), and gets better with babying, care, and good meds lol

~Susan~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is on! Susan, take care fo that hip. Go see a chiropractor, they can help.
Laura, good luck on the job interview. Please let us know what ou hear?
Faye, great jobs on the chairs! Lots of work, and love went into them. No wonder you two got romantic in them!

Hope you all have a great day!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Morning girls
I may be mia but after this wedding hopefully I'll be back more often but I am keepin all y'all in my prayers and thoughts

any tips for molding fudge into monkeys LOL...that is the only major thing I have left to do and starting them today

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning! Morning!!
So sorry LK. We're running late and you're stuck with making coffee again. Thank you dear sistah.
Hope you got to enjoy your hummingbirds today. For 2 years now I haven't seen one around :(

So, Susan... you're feeling better today? Got to stay off that Tango and maybe stick to a less strenous waltz? Now try not to overdo yourself at the office and I do hope you get your box today.

Waving to all ~~~~

Need another cup to keep this engine running ;)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hello Phyllis.
Sorry dear, no experience with fudge monkeys.. Maybe your local baker can give you some tips?

Laura, wishing you the best of luck for your interview today.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

fudge monkeys? hmmmmm sounds like a barrel of chocolate monkeys - I can just SEE them LOL

Thanks, Jaye hon........ I'll watch for it ^_^

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Fudge monkeys sound really fudgey LOL!! I would go to dollar stores, thrift stores, grocery stores and see if anyone has any molds. I've never made candy in my life, nor mold anything.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I wish Cathy was still around. She was our fudge lady, and she had all kinds of ideas!

Raleigh, NC

Morning sisters - yeah, it's after noon. I drank tea with my barbeque and a free cola yesterday knowing full well I shouldn't. woke up at 1am, read until 3am, took TylenolPM, opened the patio door in the bedroom because the night air was so mild and fresh - and woke up after 11~somewhere around 8 Randall came in kissing on me, gave me the first pill of the morning, but must have just drifted back off when he left.

been puttering around the kitchen with more energy, Praise God, and pray it lasts. feeling better. any of y'all ever have the main eating table fill up with so much clutter that you can't find a place to eat? Randall is bad for this, I'm not much better. I mislaid a novel and a banana when I came home last night and tore through the house four times looking for my novel to read last night. Found them at my "place" at the table, where there was no space left to eat....spent 45 mins. putting everything back in its place, and I've still not quite cleared it all. found some daffodil bulbs in there....

It does sound like you'd do best with a mold for the fudge, Phyllis. Fudge at a wedding - sounds yummy.

no hummer feeders here. Randall's Yankee birdfeeder is very active and set where we can see the action at the table. he only buys sunflower seeds. They love it. In fact, the birds sort of have a "holding pattern" as they await their turns. Part of that is perching on my truck's side mirror where it's a quick flit up to the feeder. that mirror's going to lose its paint at the rate they poop on it. The deck is on the 2nd floor, with a Zephrine Drourin rose beneath. get a lot of volunteer sunflowers sprouting around it. ;o)

oh my the air is clean and cool out today! I've got to go see if I have enough umph to dig something....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Monkey candy molds:
http://www.sugarcraft.com/catalog/candymolds/M-animals/M-animals.htm#mon

There are 3 - one is a sitting monkey, and contains 3 different monkeys LOL so cute!

Phyllis my only suggestion if you are using actual Fudge, is to make it on the thin side....we made ours per the recipe and it set up really fast making it very difficult to mold....next time he is getting plain old pourable chocolate.

Suppose to have rain showers through the weekend....have a bit of sun right now....all the bird talk reminds me I need to clean and refill the hummer feeder today....I only see the one pair and they appear to stay through the winter.........

Stretched some watercolor paper yesterday, got part of the scene masked off...need to finish masking the water.....haven't done any water scenes in years....will see what happens...

Waving to all, have a good afternoon....the dog thinks we need to go out, and I need another cup of coffee...........

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I do put out sunflower seeds, and still no takers. Can't explain this mysterious disappearance of my feathered friends. Perhaps too many cats in the yard?
Bonnie, what's the purpose of a dining table if you can't utilize it for those "throw it over there till..." !!!!!
We learnt to juggle our plates on our laps and our drinks compete for space with the side table lamps!!!

Crissy, it must be a good day today at the office. Not much chatter about Ms. Wonderful, and you're not looking for distractions!

How did the luncheon go, Susan? Hope the food's palatable, if the atmosphere isn't pleasant...

Trisha, please, please, I beg you, show some of your finished work here. I love watercolors.
If only I live closer to you, would certainly love to take art lessons from you.
You are an incredible artist, crafts person... you should have your own studio!

Well I took a short nap and my body's revigorated. Ready to do something heavy as lifting a fork at the local Mexican restaurant :D
