Morning, Sistahs!

What a time we had babysitting with the two grandsons on Saturday night! They brought them about 7:15 and stayed until almost 8:00. Trouble is, the 2 year old didn't understand that he was supposed to stay the night and he thought they forgot them and kept crying for Daddy. Well, whenever the 7 mo. old one heard his big brother crying, he cried, too. Only time the two year old stopped was when Papaw took him for a ride on the Kubota. As soon as the ride was over, he started crying again. Anyway, long story short, Mom and Dad called to see how they were doing and could hear Kyle screaming so they offered to come back until they went to bed. Soon as they showed up, everything was fine. They put them to bed after a little bit and they both slept fine all night long. They were both a joy yesterday morning when they got up.

Mom and I went to a wedding shower for my future Great Niece-in-law and had a great time. I bet there were at least 25 people at that shower and she's having another one, too. They're already living together in a house, so it's not easy to find something they need. She did register at Bed, Bath and Beyond, so that's were I got the gift from DM and me. The shower was to last from 2-4, but at 4:15 they still had two games to play (luckily, they already ate and opened gifts) so Mom and I decided it was time to start back home. We had a good time together.

My mother is concerned my dad is getting the starts of Alzheimers. She said a couple of times they have been somewhere in the car, and Dad doesn't remember how to get out of the parking lot. She has to tell him. She says she's so afraid that when he goes out by himself to get a haircut that he'll forget how to get home. I hope that she's blowing it up a little, but still it does concern me, too.

I talked with Kathy (Jordankittyjo) on Saturday and she was back in the hospital last week. She had another lump in her breast, other one this time, and at first they thought it was cancer, but after testing, it wasn't. They think this one was caused by the Hurricane Pamela by jumping on her. They have had such a rotten year. I just feel so bad for them.

It is really cool this morning. I could see my breath when I walked the kingdom. I am really not ready for that. I have a sweater on and it's only the end of August...worries me about what kind of winter we'll be having!

Shelly & Bret come home friday afternoon so we could do a fitting on the the dries that finally showed up last Monday...all I had to do on it was re hem it ...why they made the sides loner then the rest is beyond me but you could sure tell the difference and it looked funny so I fixed that and Shelly had gotten another dress as a back up so I hemmed the front of it so she now has to decide which one she will wear.
Then she called me on their way home Saturday and asked me to take pictures fo them as she forgot when we were trying them on...went to use the digital and it was dead so used my cell and sent them straight to her that way but they never showed up in her email so took new ones last night.
My Son and his GF and lil one got to Longview by train yesterday morning a lil before 9 but Millie and I were there ready and waiting for them. The shop super loaned me a car seat for the week since Callie is only 2
They were glad to be off the train got home ate some breakfast relaxed a lil then the kids and I went to Caldwell Zoo and waked around to see the animals.,,,callie did great too she walked pretty much the whole time.
they are still asleep which is fine it was a long 2 days for them and this is their mini vacation LOL

Well bet get out and get the wedding done by the pond Shelly has said they are having pictures taken around the yard *sigh* LOL

This is my baby ...ok so he's 20 and not a baby but y'all know what I mean LOL

OMG Cindy, glad everything is ok for now. Hope your guy friend is ok too, he sounds like a good one!

Donna praying for your BIL and my grandmother (mom's mom) had Alzheimer's, she got mean like that too, refused to bathe because she 'had just took one' and if anyone tried to get her in the shower she would throw a tantrum. Extremely difficult, sad disease.

Jaye glad to see you're feeling better. I was watching The Weather Channel while I was getting ready this morning, they said the truck was engulfed with flames, nothing about rolling down a hill. Wonder which story is the right story????? LOL

Prayers are going out for Cody too, Be Strong Girl!!

Joyce I'd be very concerned about that. I've been thinking about Kathy and how she's doing with Hurricane Pam and family. They have gone through a tough time, that's for sure. Very very glad she doesn't have cancer!

It was 78 yesterday!! I just couldn't stay inside and do housework! I've got to make a lot of phone calls today to get some speakers for my conference in 1 month!! aaaagggghhhhh!! It'll be alright, I hope. Ya'll have a great day and I'll yak at ya soon!

If you go to kcra.com you can see pictures from yesterday's fire. Haven't heard an update yet probably will at noon. Our street is very busy because they have the main highway closed so that fire equipment can get to the scene. A spotter plane flew over for awhile then left so things may be getting under control.

Afternoon all....it is up to 63* ....they are saying 78* by the end of the day. Fall is in the air...the first of the maple trees at Maple Park has started to turn....it is so beautiful when that entire street of trees turn into a blaze of yellow red and orange!!

My monthly Chiropractic Appointment this morning.....it always amazes what they can do.

Thanks for the update on Kathy....I think of her often and keep them all in my prayers.

Going to see if Bill has some time off today....maybe go for a drive or a hike and get some pictures taken for painting references.....want to look in to taking some classes again also.

Hey Ladies,

This is Doug. He's at work right now so I have to wait until tomarrow to talk with him. Too many things happened today and we weren't able to get in touch with each other.
He's kinda cute isn't he? Only thing that bothers me.....he smokes. So we will have to see what happens. We seem to like alot of the same things so there might be a chance.

You know Cindy, Dave smokes but keeps it outside as he can't stand the smell (lol) and I have never smelled it on him or in the house. Try to not make a deal out of it unless he smokes in the house. He's cute!!

Yup, I sure do! You should meet him. My dad met his girlfriend online a few years ago, they met at my wedding! I'm going home, I'll see ya this evening!

Good luck Cindy with your "new man". I sure do hope things work out for you. Yep, he is kind of cute! My nephew met his wife on line too. He went to New York to meet her and everything worked out fine from there. He got a great job there and have a nice home and two beautiful children, boy & girl. They are both such great parents. We all get pictures all the time. Just wish he was living here as he is a computer whiz and I sure do need help at times.

It's been a very, very tiring day that somehow stretched into a cumbersome evening.
Cookie, I truly hope it's just a rare occurence for your dad. If not, then you must prepare for the inevitable. I had looked after my late ex's DM with Alzheimer, and it's truly a 24 hour job. Thanks for the news on Kathy. Somehow, when I tell myself, I should call... I failed :(

Phyllis, wish I had some good looking baby pictures like that to share!! He's a heartbreaker I bet. You'll be so relieved when the wedding's finally over, and all the preps have been worth it. Can't wait to see Shelley in her dress and the pond all 'dressed'.

Hi Trisha. Hmm... that's one thing I can at least do. Twist my body a certain way while I'm sitting flat out in bed, and my spine will 'crack'. A chiropractor had taught me that once. Sometimes my triple large bosoms get in the way!!!
Btw, how's the paintings coming along? Is Sage excited about school yet?

Cindy, he is cute. Take your time sistah, and don't set prejudices yet till you've met him! Now if he swears, cusses or lies.. then I'll worry.. but smoking.. that's not a personal trait to worry about. Just bad for his health.

Pegi, are you somewhere close to the fires? I haven't checked the news since I got in, do hope that it's somehow under control.

juggle work and wedding stuff ...hahahahah I took this whole week off from work to make sure everything is ready and in order and to spend time with my son and his GF and lil one...haven't seen him in a year so I deserve a week off from work to be here with them...hehehehe

The fires aren't near me, thank God. I feel so bad for those that are in path of the m. I just heard that one firefighter and wife were expecting first baby and now she has to bury him. It is so sad. So many animals have to be taken away and put in shelters. I hate this fire season with a passion, and each year there are so many.

Praying for Cindy out in CA. Just watched the news and her area is really getting hit hard. Please check in when you can. I'm worried about you....

I'm here, yes so many people have lost their homes. And they are still dealing with hot spots. An elderly couple whom I used to clean their house are now homeless. Alot of the traffic was rerouted and going past our house making it really dangerous for us to pull out of the drive way so we stayed home. I didn't even go to Curves for fear of getting hit coming out of the driveway.

My morning has started out good ^_^. I was up at 4:30 and noticed Doug was online. He had gotten home from work at 1 am and couldn't sleep. We talked for 1 1/2 hours. We have a lot in common. He loves doing crafts, he makes tiffany glass things. That is something that I have always wanted to try. He comes from a big family 4 sisters and 2 brothers, his mom just pass a year ago May. He has two kids 30 and 21 no grandkids. But he still hasn't asked to meet yet :( He says we will chat again, so we'll see what happens.

Bowling leagues start today. I will be bowling on mom's team today, then tonight I bowl with some friends. Thank God getting out of the house and doing somthing, lol.

Cindy, glad to hear you are safe, but sorry to hear about the lder couple. So sad!
Take your time with meeting him. Get to know him, before you jump off the cliff please! Ask lots of questions. I did not know till I was married to my 2nd hubby for 8 months, that his first marriage was to his first cousin! SICK!

Cindy, looks like Doug's taking his time. So, take your sweet time to know him better. That's what he is doing too. A player will rush you into getting together sooner before the interest wanes. A serious person will study you longer to make sure there are no mistakes.

Hey Y'all. Great News.

we received a certified letter today addressed to me from the IRS. Releasing me personally from their quest for "reparations".

It only took them 48 hrs. to give me a phone call saying this same thing. It has taken 1 year 2 months and 4 days to get it in writing, into two sentences.

We arrived home from our trip with me having a very bad cold, and despite having my 'puter back up and going, too under the weather to care. Doc says it's not flu, just very bad sinus infection. we picked up the Netti Pot y'all recommended and I've had much relief from it.

So I've got a ton of catch up reading to do. But just had to let my sistahs that gave me the courage to stand up to these bureaucrats know our great news.
