Jaye we will keep you in our prayers.
GET WELL JAYE !!! QUICK !!!
Just an update on the car situation... we went to pick up the Tuscon yesterday, and sat down with the service manager to go over our bill. He saw where the sales guy wrote down the wrong price on a lot of the items they did to the car, and therefore, quoted us the wrong price on the phone for the additional repairs. He also was shy on the original price for the repairs we signed for. They also were charging us for an oil change, which we had just had done before taking in to them. So, the manager made good on the price we were quoted, within about $25. We accepted that. Whew !!! Then, Don took it down to get new tires and alignment. So, now... all our vehicles are running right, well maintenanced, and legal again (but now, we're broke again)... FINALLY.
Someone happened across my Etsy store, and emailed me with a proposal. Her and a partner are about to open a "Re Invented Store" in Atlanta, and has invited me to consider putting some of my repurposed jars in their store. They don't open until November, and say they'll have their attorney to draw up a legal agreement with me. Sounds good so far, but I may only send a few things at a time if I choose to do this.
It's Friday... and that means that it's Football Day... Ina's first pep rally... she's planning on staying after school for the volleyball game, then will hang out until the football game. Don and I are talking about going to the football game tonight too... but we haven't decided yet for sure. I haven't been to a high school football game since my oldest was in high school... uh, that's been almost 20 years.
They haven't changed the rules, have they?
Better get going... groceries to buy, and some cleaning to do before the weekend. Ina needs to go to the mall Saturday, and Eve gets here on Sunday.
Oh Goodnes,
Jaye, feel better, so sorry you are not well.
Big hugs(((((((((Jaye)))))))))
Was nice to hear Cody is doing well, glad the lil man is excited about school.
Susan have fun camping!
BJ, Sounds like a funa and very busy Weekend...OH Congratulations, what a great deal for you!
See you in a Bit.
Wow BJ - it sure pays to Check these things about cars, eh? Great news and the re-vamping of your bill ^_^ ^_^
Keeping my fingers crossed XX XX re: the repurposed tins/ART LOL
I'm sure it will work out to your satisfaction.
Buy some camping groceries for me too, k? lol My DH decided he had to buy Something new for our camping excursion. Not that we didn't have all the bases covered already (tent for sleeping, and a pup-tent for supplies, Mummy sleeping bags and all the food, dishes, and anything else to make our Roughing It easier lol), but he decided we Had To Have some enamel metal dishes with coffee pot, fry pan, lidded pot, and plates/cups........... ah well, now that he has summers free-er, we may be able to do some camping and validate buying More Stuff lol
~Susan~
Great news about the car BJ. Even better news regarding your repurposed items. I would say go for it for sure!! BTW, need us to save any containers for you? Would be more than happy to save and send them to us--let me know.
We are talking about going to a football game this year and taking the girls. Their Dad said it souded like a good itea--to expensive to take them to a college game!!!
Well break if over.
Great news BJ on both counts. Good luck with the business venture.
So sorry to hear the Jaye is not feeling well. Sure hope you are better soon.
LK I was in tears listening to your post. Had to pass it along to dear friends. That should sure help Jaye a lot too.
Be safe everyone in Danny's path.
LOL... silly Maid M... it would cost more to mail me your jars and cans than it would be worth... but thank you so much for offering. I'm having my kids save them right now, and if I get really really busy, I'll hit my neighbors up for theirs. BTW... we've decided we like smoked oysters now, because I like the shape of that can too...
PUMPS... I do need pumps... so, when your soft soap bottles are empty, or your hand lotion... I could use your pumps.
Put your refurbished jar you made into a butterfly feeder. That's an excellent and unique sell for sure, BJ/.
Jaye take care and get better soon.!!
BJ, great news on the car and on the repurposed jars!
Bill is due home, need to get lunch going.....spent the entire morning at mom's Doctors appointment....think we finally are going to get some issues dealt with for a change...I really like the guy they scheduled her with today.
Be Back Later...
Jaye sorry you are under the weather. We miss you.
Susan have a restful camping trip. My camping days are done. I'm more of a 4 star hotel kind of girl now. :))
Trisha sometimes it just takes getting to the right Dr. to get some satisfaction. It's a shame that for some people that never happens until it is too late. Hopefully your Mom's issues will resolve soon.
BJ...be very leery of your business op. Years ago when I did jewelry, I entered into similar situations. Every one of them was a dud. They all cost me mucho money in the end. One venture cost me over 500.00 in "misplaced" inventory. I was so excited for these chances and was heartbroken when they were over. I hate to alway be the one raining on everyone's parade. :0) Just be cautious. Consignment arrangements don't work out either. Stuff gets stolen and no one is responsible except the artist. BJ you can get the pumps through a ceramic supply if you get desperate. That's where I get mine for the ceramic soap dispensers that I do.
Juanita
BJ, that is good news all around!
Good luck on the re purposed jars!
Jaye, hope your feeling better!
Ladies, it is Friday afternoon, hubby will be home soon, and I think we are going out for asian food! See you all Monday sometime, if not sooner!
LK
Deborah... how's the butter feeder I made you? Mine faded in the sun to where it has almost no color at all... it's true that polymer clay isn't suppose to be used outside... so, I decided not to make any more of them.
Juanita... thank you... my mom had gotten into a mess when she did the same thing in a lady's shop. It's a risk you take. I'll be double cautious with the agreement I get from the attorney. I'm also thinking that if I do something like that, I'd rather deal with someone more local so I can drop by the shop and see for myself what the set up looks like... and keep an eye on the inventory. Atlanta is way too far away to drop in now and then.
There's two shops near me that take things on consignment, and both of them are very nice shops... and busy. So, I might look into that should I decide someday to go that direction.
Oh, and Juanita... those pumps through the ceramic supply are more expensive than just buying a "Soft Soap" dispenser at Dollar Tree, and just taking the pump off... I pour the soap in a jar, and use it later... but I've got way more than I can use in a very long time now.
Gotcha BJ!
Hello Ladies,
Very emotional day for me today. We atttended a service for Rusty. It was one of the most beautiful celebration of life services I had ever attended. There were hundreds of people and the biggest part of them were PG&E workers. There was a dvd of pictures of Rusty's life. There were some pictures that showed him working on a power pole, that I could not bring myself to watch as that is what he was doing when he died. A few of the guys he worked with got up and said things about him, and they could not do it without tears. Rusty was very well loved by many, many people. I've got tears now just trying to write this. His father told of some of the funniest things Rusty did, it was good to laugh and to picture him as a young boy doing these things. I will miss him dearly.
(((((Cindy))))) Sounds like a really wonderful service. You and all of his family are in our prayers during this difficult transition.
I just thought I'd drop in and say HEY ~~~~ and seen Jaye is not feeling well......
Jaye prayers for you and wanting you to get to feeling better real soon!!!!!!!!!!
Hope all the rest of you are doing good !!!!!!!!!
Hughes Net Satellite is to be installed ....well I guess I can say today between 1pm and 4pm.......CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No more Danged Old Dial up !!!!!!!!!! One of my prayers have been answered thanks to my wonderful momma and my birthday.
Love and Hugs to ya all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to post some of my blooms for you all to see.......
My tiny baby Sedum Plugs I got from the Co-op.They are soooooooo cute,I planted them in an old aquarium til they can get bigger.
Morning Ladies,
I need someone or all of you to give a detailed definition of when a man says "has no baggage". I'm pretty sure what it means, but just want it clarified.
Cindy don't believe it. Never met a man yet that didn't "have baggage." :0)
Synda I love what you did with those sedum in the aquarium. I have a lot of the same ones in a rock garden here and they are great. Once they take off, they are reall low maintenence.
Juanita
I meant when he says he's looking for a woman with no baggage.
Hubby says it mean he wants them free and clear nothing to hold them down, no huge bills...
Thanks, LK
I have been chatting with a guy and I told him about my living arrangements and about my hearing problem. Haven't heard back so I guess he's not interested anymore. Oh well too bad for him, lol. But there is another one that I think will work out. He worked late last night, so I may hear from him later today. He asked me when my birthday was. His is 09/27/55, mine 05/25/55, lol. So will see what he has to say. TTYL
Grrrrrrrrrrrreaaaaaaaaaat morning ladies!!
It's a beautiful day in the neighbourhood, in the neighbourhood............
Thank you for the well wishes and LK, thanks for the new room.
Trying to feel better today. I was down with cramps and the "D" word.
Kel says it's psychosomatic.
Now, show me a woman who's never had stress effects, and I bet she's Hitler reincarnate ;) Even Hitler killed himself when he can't handle the pressure!
Anyway, I got to get better as it's Saturday today right? Moreover Kel said he'll treat me to a fabric fest.. now, that's the magic picker upper for fabricaholics like me!!!
You are so right Barb. I got emotionally charged when I saw the video.
On FB a few days ago I had posted on my page "Why worry about anthills when you got a mountain to conquer". These words came to my mind when I was shifting through the "whys" and "whens".
And yes, LK, thanks. I need to be reminded that I am a wretch, and without His saving Grace, I'll be in those 'anthills'.
Yes, if the mountain was smooth, we won't be able to scale it.
Glad to read that you got your vehicle back the 'sane' way BJ!!! You're not robbed with high repair bills. Amen!!
I sure hope you find a store that will get your beautiful pieces exposed.
Especially one in your area.
Ehem.. hope you get a certain envelope today..
Hey Juanita! I wonder what else can you do! Besides landscaping, you do beautiful candlesticks, make your own candles and cards... I bet you can practically do anything you set your mind to! Perhaps there is a quilter in you?
It takes an illness for Synda to show up :D
(((((((((((((((((((((((Synda))))))))))))))))))))))) We've been missing you.
Hardly see you around on DG... and I can't really compete with you on FB as I'm on dial up. So, once that high speed connection is there, you'll practically live on FB!!!!! Ahhhh.. the bane of us here on DG.
Don't have those games to keep our missing sistahs.
Thank you for the beautiful pictures. Your wrap-around porch is already so pretty, and it will be made more spectacular with that fountain.
I thank you for taking your time to grace us with your beautiful presence ;)
Sistah Cindy.. if a man wants a woman with no baggage, that means 2 things.. either he has enough he can't handle himself OR he is a player.
Very likely he's a player.. stay away from that!
Continue to pray for us that need, including Cody.
Thanks Trisha. Alex must either be thrilled to make new friends or miss his mummy bad.
Got to get ready for fabric fest!
