Sorry on the earlier post I was "talking" to hope43, duh I didn't make myself very clear. LOL Since I have never tried seeds and the ones he was sending to hope43 last year he said were fast and easy I just wondering if they really were.

Kim, looks like you have the touch. How beautiful! If I ever get any seeds I will be happy to pass them on. Right now I would be happy with some blooms.....

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

I guess I shoulda read a bit more lol!!! Ithnk the seeds are easy...but some do take there time. I can send you some if you like!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Exotic Sistah Kim.. I might take up the offer! Will look for some European seeds and have you germinate them :D

Love that Cherub Jaye!!! I had a huge flush not long ago on mines : ) Now where do you find European seeds??? They sound difficult =D

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sometimes this German guy will place them on eBay. Darn, forgot his name. Matter of looking out for him.
Yah, I remember envying your flush, Kim. Seems that this year everyone of them that are in the ground are late :(
Yep.. yep.. must be the snow..

Very pretty pretty pretty! Let me know when you remember : )Your Lovie was my first double! I have a Wretched Mess which put out a few trips lost a gazillion buds and the blooms where...mmm a wretched mess lol! I heard she gets really pretty

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I do have Wretched Mess which put out so beautiful blooms last year.
But this year, another that did not Y'd. It's 5 ft. tall in the pot!
Comical to look at, but we're all like that right... wretched messes, yet He makes sure we're still beautiful in our shortcomings!!

(Kim) Philadelphi, PA(Zone 6a)

How true Jaye! Well it is that time again..off to bed for me. Work in the morning.....*sigh*
Nite all!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

This was last year's Wretched Mess blooming in the makeshift GH in the middle of December. A trip.. and I love the so light pinkish hue. I was expecting the edges of the petals to be 'torn' most of the time.. not so.
It will even throw quads, but flower will drop before the the fourth drops.

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Jaye and Kim, I have thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful bloom show. You are making me want them all. Wish mine would make a big show like those.Jaye, when you cut them, I would love being on your share list.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

OMG you guys are killing me with pictures of all these blooms....LOL We have been overcast for days, I think if the sun would come out for one day I think I would of a field of dreams in brug blooms....right now they are just buds hanging there. I love all the pics you all posted.

I have a triple, that I got in a swap. I have only had one bloom last year and it is white. I think all the rest of mine are singles, except I bought two in a coop this year that are suppose to be doubles. Doozie and Naughty Nick, they came potted but started going downhill quickly, so I cut them and laid them in soil and Naughty Nick is doing wonderful. Doozie has grown roots and leaves but the leaves keep curling under like it has mites or bugs or something. I can't see anything and I keep washing it but it just isn't doing well. I spent alot of money (or alot to me) and will not be happy if I lose it. I should post a pic and see if you guys would be nice enough to let me know what you think.

Here is hoping to post pics of blooms in the very near future.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Huggs Happ.. You got Brugititis baaaaaaad!!!

Naughty Nick bloomed only once for me last year. The unexpected (Chorus here) 3 days snow killed it.

But here's Painted Lady for your eyes. She's a beauty.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

How do you grow hardy hibiscus? you know , the big dinner plate ones?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I had a big pink one bloom like crazy last year, and it came back this year, but has not bloomed. I think it is too hot. The only hibiscus that has bloomed this year is my double orange one!

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Sounds like a nice trip Debra. Have fun and hurry back here.
I've never had a Hibiscus bloom as large as a dinner plate, never even seen one. And, i've never seen a orange hibiscus before either. Night all...see you tomorrow.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Wish Bonnie had taken a picture of her huge dinner plate hibs, I hope she either gets me a cutting or some seeds.. Faye, they are all over the place at home, and here in Buffalo, too.. the dinner plate hibiscus that is.. I have some double orange hibs I can try to set a cutting for you.. ( they are really a dark peach tho)

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Yes Debra, please do. I love it. Do you save the seeds?

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Morning all, sitting here with my pepsi getting all caffinated up....LOL I would start coffee for you all but I am not a good coffee maker....how about tea?

That tropical is beautiful. I have managed to collect 5 tropical hibs, 3 standards and 2 bushy ones......how does this happen? LOL

I have huge hardy dinner plate size hibs. I think I took a picture with my hand to the size. Will have to look and see if I can find it. That plant has dark burgandy leaves, can't think of the name but the foliage is beautiful and the blooms are beautiful. I will look for it today.

I wondered where Debra was, hadn't heard from her in a long time.....NY and the gardens that will be beautiful! Wish I was there! Going to a car show this morning and then I have a ton of stuff to get in the ground today!

Ordered spuria iris and got them and want to get them in the ground for sure. Anyone have those?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

mornin Joyce, no ,not me .. I hardly have any iris.. just those dutch iris of my Aunt Effies... that took 8 yrs to bloom for me..
I love tea.. Pass the tea pot plz..
I don't have seeds from Hibs, Faye, but I can try starting cuttings fro you .. ( Faye wants a Peach one)
I have the dark one, Joyce like you.. but it is sitting in a basket waiting for me to get home.. Hope it is still alive, I just got t a few weeks ago to put in.. I want one of those Dark Green Leaved ones that the flowers are about the size of my granmas' navy plates ...( those are old, but good sized)
We leave today. I am going for one last walk around the neighborhood..
Here is a nice hib from the Gardens yesterday..

An orange double just for you Faye. :o). Bought this tree hibby at Costco a few years back. I was going to let it go this year because it is getting pretty big to bring in. It must have known, because it has bloomed non stop since Spring. Dh says it has earned the right to stay.

Pleaseeeeeeeee don't let any of the beauties go without taking cuttings. I love and want all I see. LOL...if you follow the other threads, you will find that I want ALL blooms I see. Guess you could call me "The Blooming Nut"
Love to all....Love all those blooms.
Faye

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Faye I can send you some cuttings of that hibiscus if you want. I never really tried to start one like that. I don't have a ton of luck with woody cuttings. Let me know and I can shoot some down your way next week.
