HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRISSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

THANK YOU PEPPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

(Zone 7a)

I must say, Crissy and I had our toast earlier tonight.

Crissy? I meant every word I said.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Celia I have been wanting to tell ya last night but my computer at home downloaded corrupt internet files from Microsoft Updates, that was the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me and I want to say it right back at ya! I feel the same way but suck at saying it LOL Anyway, Dell is going to call me this evening at 6:30pm and we're going to re-install the internet software. I'd just do it myself but not sure which software they're talking about, plus I've paid $50.00 for them to help me, so they can walk me through it.

I started moving all of my files and folders to my thumb drive and like a nerd and being too tired, by this time it was 9:30pm and had been working on computers all day, I was tired and thought I was copying all of the folders in my Start Menu to the thumb drive, but it turns out I was moving them so went to move them back to the computer and they won't move! LOL I'm sure they can tell me how to get those back on the computer too but may have to pay again Oops!! Those are the Accessories, Dell, Microsoft Office, etc. folders.

(Zone 7a)

Aw, thanks, Crissy!

This is why our next computer is going to be a Mac.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

This is the first time I've ever had a problem. I want both a PC and Mac but don't have any room to put two computers. Maybe a laptop Mac...hhhhmmmmmm

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

A laptop Mac would be my dream too!! LOL. I need a laptop so I can take pics with my telescope camera.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm back online at home!! Had to reformat my hard drive :( :( Oh well, paid $50.00 instead of $200.00 and the computer is now brand new once again!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Glad you're back up and running!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yay Thanks Pep! Now tonight I get to spend the evening re-installing the software and drivers Oh goodie goodie!!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL!! Better you than me!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I realized while doing this that I only have my printer and camera to download and install, so that's no biggie, plus tomorrow's Saturday Yay!!

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Crissy happy birthday to you did you think you would ever reach 82

(Zone 7a)

heh heh heh

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh now that's funny eweed! ROFLMBO!!!!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Shakes head. LOL

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Crissy, I don't mean to crack you up. I try and read the way the "kids" type today and it doesn't quite dawn on me. It actually annoys me...lol Here's an example, I don't text. Well, I hadn't till yesterday. I decided to text Tony, my carpenter, to ask him about my window. He had just asked me the other day if I still had my cell phone. He's got a different one, so he doesn't have my number any longer in his. I think to myself, if somebody with the 815 area code is texting him and asking about a window, then it would be pretty darn dumb to not know who it was. Right? I decide to be funny in the Terry way (!), so I text him a spin off of the "got milk?" and text "got window?". He first just says what? I got that one. Then he starts on the b 4 and the u r and it takes me forever to read and I just can't type that back to him. It looks silly in these eyes of mine. Good grief, Tony wasn't getting who it was at all and finally said he was done. I finally told him for pete's sake, it's Terry!!!! Doh. And my phone is an older model, pay as I go, have to hit however many times to get the right letter per key.

pepper, loose anything seems to find its way into my eyes. Hence I could never wear contact lenses.

Celia, I was going to look into a Mac before I bought the last desktop I bought. The starting prices don't thrill me though, so I didn't. Krista wanted a MacBook instead of a laptop, but again, the prices are too steep. My mom has a desktop Mac that's pretty cool (not that they'll let me on it). I have to find or figure out how to get the Windows 7 update. We have 2 that will get the update free. I haven't taken the time to figure it out though. It's either that or take them over to Best Buy and have them do it.

Speaking of corrupt files, this laptop is doing weird things. I think I did it. Now to just remember what it was I did.

Happy Belated birthday Crissy!!!

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Crissy belated happy happy birthday. You are a good sport. I just had to do that because Crissy is my daughters nick name. She is the mother of my one year old grandson. Who I saw for the second time today for his one year old birthday. They live a ways away. Enjoy the week. Ernie

(Zone 7a)

Pretty pic, Ernie. What's the weather like in WA these days? My DB in OR says they've had some wild weather lately.

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Mild and wet about normal for this time of year

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thank you Terry and Ernie!

Ernie, my name is Christine, Crissy for short. This is going to crack you up:

My mom found out she was pregnant with me unexpectedly and had in her mind she was having a boy and named me James Robert, after my dad who is Robert James. Well I obviously came out a girl and she was stumped on girl names, so my dad came up with Christine as a middle name and she came up with Michelle as my first name, but she didn't want me to be called Shelley. So they reversed the names to Christine Michelle and she has always called me Crissy.

Oh a one year old grandson, I bet you had a blast! Pretty pic!

Terry it takes awhile to get used to the texting language. I still have never used b 4. I do use u and r a lot. It just takes practice.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

I don't think I'll ever get used to the texting language because it's not normal!!! Not that I'm normal by any stretch of anyone's imagination....lol

Oh hey Crissy, I keep forgetting. I've been paying attention on The Food Network to how the chefs cut meat...on their wood cutting board or what. They all have a plastic or whatever material board that they use. Then I saw a commercial the other day and they were saying to make sure you used differing boards for cutting meats and veggies and don't use a wood board for meat. So I don't know. I guess I'll stay with my plastic board for meats and wood for veggies.

I have a question for all. Ernie's post is in bold print, which I get and know how to do. But how did the print under the picture come out in bold also? Where it says "click the image for an enlarged view"? Weird. I haven't seen that before.

I don't know if we did or not, but the town that the weather channel uses for this towns almanac on the local on the 8's broke a record day before yesterday. It was 75. We haven't seen rain in awhile, which is also unusual. Farmers are finally getting out into their fields. They have most all the beans in, but corn isn't. We had to go down to Peoria on Fri. and driving down, we saw farmer after farmer out in their fields. Coming home, I told my husband that in so many fields along the way, I could see corn as far as my eye could see. It's still too wet. As long as it doesn't rain, it'll dry. The weather people are calling for rain tonight into tomorrow, so I'd bet the farmers are out in full force today.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Terry. All I know about like Iron Chef is there stuff is top of the line expensive stuff! Never paid attention to what they cut on, but do try to pick up on how to fillet a fish! LOL

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Farmers here are cutting corn and beans also. We have rain coming tonight and this weekend so they are out there in full force getting as much done as possible.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh yes, I was listening to the percentages of crops lost here in AR because of all of the rain and they're really high. Cotton was real bad. The cost for these veggies are going to go sky high next year because of this.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

The only reason we have crops is because we finally got some dry spells so the seeds could sprout and take root. For some of our farmers it took 3 plantings before they either gave up or finally got some to stay put. That then made the harvest alot later than normal. By now our fields would normally be empty and done for the year.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Ours are all messed up from all of the rain we got, we're 200% above normal right now. Everything got flooded after it had started growing.

(Zone 7a)

Suddenly, I feel stupid. I don't know how our crops are doing this year. How bad is that?

We have snow and rain coming tonight or tomorrow. I can feel it. Plus, the little people on the TV told me.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

LOL Celia!! Don't feel bad. I only know because I live in the country and some of our friends are farmers also.

Did you say SNOW???? I want snow!!!!

(Zone 7a)

You can have the snow. I'm sick of it.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Celia you've gotten snow a couple times this year already, haven't you? We get ice and I am Not looking forward to that.

Rushville, IN(Zone 5b)

hey girl how are things going

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

We have a glass stove top and use cast iron on it but it is the painted kind if it makes a difference. I know it cost quite a bit. Linda found a cheaper but still pricey one thats works as well.

Anyone liking snow needs to commute a hundred miles a day in it. I di for 19 years and found it tiresome.

(Zone 7a)

We like our glass cooktop stove. It came with the house.

Yes, drive in snow several miles a day and you'll change your mind about liking it. Yes, we had snow a couple of times. I look forward to moving where snow isn't a routine event. South Carolina and Oregon are on our list of places to go.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

You like the ceramic stove top? It looks really nice but I can't stand cleaning the thing, and mine takes forever to cool off. I like coils better, but gas is always the best in my book.

South Carolina would be the best bet for D's job, maybe Dave needs to get a job there. The private jet company he works for is laying off 150 people today, that's for every 3 people one is getting laid off. I'm stressing a tad bit, I've been spending money like it's water.

(Zone 7a)

I prefer gas cooking, too, but you work with what you have. Our next appliance purchase will be the stove. Gas with the controls in front and the microwave over the stove with a fan/light.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That's what I have, that's the first built in microwave I've ever owned, kinda like it... Man I'm grumpy today, Ms. Cheerful went to the bathroom about 15 minutes ago and hasn't came back yet, wonder if she got lost!

(Zone 7a)

She forgot what she was doing.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Probably lol!

(Zone 7a)

BTW, happy Friday the Thirteenth!!!
