Trisha - What wonderful news!

WOW - When I got to the post office Saturday...it was supposed to open at 9am...well....the line was getting longer and longer....9:05a...9:10a...folks chatting and grumbling about the door not opening.... FInally I did the "automated" postage...and put the package in the box outside....PO STILL NOT OPEN! but the box said "3pm pick up"...so I was concerned they wouldn't get to you until Wednesday...with 2 day delivery and Sunday off....

Well - I had a problem stuffing those poor plants in the mean 'ole dark box anyway. Never mind that I throw away potato vine weekly...it just seemed cruel. SO I'm so happy it made it!

I'm praying for them! I love the potato vine...but I know I did warn you...it can take over...I'll have to take a pic of "Mommy plant" tomorrow and send to you.

The variegated canna has an orange flower. Both should come back for you even if they die off in the winter.

DH didn't get to do the tuna steaks tonight...we'll do it tomorrow night..which since tomorrow is my bday...that will be nice. We had scattered rain (Claudette?) today and DH worked late...

my latest "beginner garden story". I could NOT figure out these little weeds I was getting near my oregano...they were so cute...little green weeds all in the "Path" around the pool....everywhere! I pulled as many as I could see, Last weekend ...I saw even a few more coming up! What were they? Pulled a few more...then smelled them.....

Hmmmmm.....Smells a LOT like my sweet basil ! Don't understand why ...I had planted sweet basil last year and never had babies....but this year..they are (or were before I pulled them) coming up everywhere! So letting them grow...perhaps I can transplant ...amazing how they are coming up in Rocks...in the path...

I'm sure Trisha whatever you ride is good quality, not the Canadian Tire type of bike I ride, but then I ride but a few times a year so better bike not needed...

Weather being so hot/humid guess you haven't been going out on your regular bike runs..leaving it for fall..

she says often how and what is legal so we already know she could be a problem down the road. just hate misserable people like that..

they are making up for lost time they got poor kenny working 12-14 hours geeez poor guy is exausted already.
and funny as it seems his friend called from oregon last night mark is a licenced fishing guide so we told him in the winter we would go up there for 4 days and go fishing

Liz, had the birdhouse all marked out so didn't take long to cut and put together..managed before leaving home to basecoat the main part of the house..roof and base has quite a bit of work to it so will do it tonight and paint more..it's just too cute..will d-mail you a photo..

Thought of you last night..found one of my books for halloween and it had 2 of the cutest little projects..going to make just incase I join the swap, which you know I will...

LOL Lady of Leisure, I want to be a lady of leisure. I'm losing sleep over all of this work that I'm working on, got about 3 hours night before last and 2 hours last night and I'm in a bad mood, everything is pissing me off.

Take a deep breath...don't let someone aggravate you to the point that you don't enjoy your day..a day you'll never be able to get back..just not worth it..take it from this old gal..too many lost days..regret letting someone do that to me...don't worry-be happy lol

Yes can't keep anything down. Ate a piece of dry toast and water this morning and still have it so maybe that part is over. Getting ready ti leave so will get back later.

Bev, you could very well be dehydrated. That is one of the major signs of that, and goes with the rest of your symptoms also and with that heat and humidity. Do you have any pop you can sip....like pepsi or coke...if that stays down a bit...try some gatoraide if you can.

I'm not in a bad mood over her, I have a pile of work on my desk and I don't feel comfortable with the instructions I'm getting, therefore nothing is getting done, and I'm stressing over it. I hate hate hate hate accounting, if I wanted anything to do with accounting I would have gotten a degree in that and not IT, and it ticks me off, that's all.

Crissy, couldn't you meet with supervisor and let them know that you are not comfortable doing something that you haven't fully been trained to do and would like some guidance?

Yesterday, schedual was totally turned around. Jake was slightly injured during practice. He is ok...Tackled some one with wrong tecnique and got a bruised shoulder muscle and while he was town one of the kids stepped on his hand, so some sores and swollen fingers. Grrr. good thing I wasn't there, this mom might have pounced on the kids fingers for hurting my baby! LOLOL...not really, but I feel better for saying it...He is at practice today. Anyway so We went to purchase his books. Been busy around the house and catching up in the threads, and Also did a few things for Steve...
Plans get changed in a matter of minutes around here, not sure when we will be able to do our lunch, but we will before school start.

Judy, you and I have SO much in common! We parents had to sign a "code of conduct" on how to behave at sporting events....and DH made ME sign it. Because last time someone hurt Shane, I got so upset and was going to take the kid out! ROFL Now, DH and DS give me a "you sit there and be quiet" talk before soccer games. BUT...glad to see I am not the only Mom who truly cares for her child! LOL

As for packing Shannon and moving to college....and holding back tears...ummm, not with this one. With the first two, yes. This one, can't be fast enough. I know....bad mom...but she needs this very much. Major battle with her yesterday, sent me reeling....and honestly, she needs a wake up call for life and that everything is not everyone elses fault.

Betty, yes hot and 84...storm supposed to be moving in along with a "cool front" and I am excited about that. Still slight swelling...but much better.

I can see Debbie you are much like Jan who I boated with on Sunday, said as soon as their girls are delivered to college, locksmith is changing the locks....oh happy days..also were having problems with 14 year old son, as they are getting ready to go camping with Greg and Mel on the long weekend both parents said they went to talk to his boss, said they'd pay their son's wage for the weekend if they could please just make him work the entire weekend...lol..guess a lot of parents are ready for a break..

Well I am back and the doc says that I am going to live. He doesn't think it was my kidney altho the scan shows that I have several stones in the left one. I lost three pounds in 2 days but what a way to lose it. He gave me some dizzy pills for my falling. Can't wait to get back out in the gardens. he is going to study the results from the ER that he had to send for and if he finds anything he will call. I am not doing anything for a couple days. Can you take something Bev to disolve the stones? glad you are home, you'd have fretted far too much being away from Scotty for a few days...perhaps you were doing far too much in the garden in this heat..you were trying to put together plants for a sale were you not......don't be rushing out! Inside you go and rest..still saying prayers though...

Susan the exchange is now filled..we're into month 3 - 12 participants make 12 blocks during the exchange...1 per month and send to Janice who sends to recipient in a package once all are received....at the end of the year each and every one of us will have 12 beautiful block in color and pattern of choice..I make 2 of same each month, 1 I send off to Janice and the other I keept to include into my pkgs. once received..should be able to do something eye catching with 24 blocks...

I wish we could get names for the apron swap soon. I want to have that made too. I have a great pattern and got a good buy on some lace the other day. 7 yds for $2.50!!!!! It's only about 1" wide but is very delicate and pretty.
I'll be watching Susan to see what you decide for the tote swap. That one should be fun too.....

I don't know what is going on with me the last few weeks. I have this burning to finish anything I have started!!!
I've been teaching my daughter the ins and outs of quilting too. She comes here every Monday night for two or three hours. She is making a wall hanging for her MIL who was born on Halloween!! It has eight witches on it riding brooms with the cutest dangling legs. I'm waiting for her to say"I want to make that quilt too" and then I'll know she is hooked!!!!
I started a quilt for my oldest grandson this week. It will take a while as I'm doing a queen size one. It is done with strips and they are all batiks. Keeps me busy..

How wonderful Barb for you to have someone to share your love of quilting with..bought a sewing machine for DIL a few years ago and she joined a bunch of friends and meet once a week during the fall..they've done jammies, hats/bags rag quilts..she loves it, not sure if it's the sewing or the get together...who knows, maybe they sew better after a glass of wine..lol

Goodness Barb, back about 4 years ago I was caught up in absolutely everything..house/yard/Christmas gifts probably in October..told the kids that it might be a preminition of my crossing over the other side and needed everything done...rolled eyes, shook head and did I hear about it at Christmas when I was here to enjoy with them...silly things one thinks...

Was up this morning cooking a pork tenderloin, fresh beans for office lunch..yummy...left overs for tonight..so now in the over I've low fat muffins baking (just made a few - one for coffee and one for lunch tomorrow) and more beans, rice for tomorrow's lunch..Judy's cooking efforts must be rubbing off on me...she's got me cooking..

Greg just called, wanted to know if my 'air' was still working..said yep, 68 - told me much too cold - nope..like it cool - better for sleeping right?

Barb, stopped into Bernie's tonight, he's not back yet..thought it was today or tomorrow but could be wrong...maybe he's seen what lovely countryside you have and decided to stay..sure hope so, that way I'd have him to visit from time to time and I could sneak over to your house...sounds like a plan.

Betty you and any of your family are welcome here anytime!!!! Ask him what the trip was like for me - which routes he took, etc. Maybe I can plan a trip too!!!! Norm is working full time at a golf course right now but we all know that won't last long with a New England winter on the way!!! He is sure to have some time in the late fall.

Hey Betty - DH set up this DG account probably 1-2 years before I even cared a whit about gardening....hence the "Strange" 4004 "name"....I ought to go in and change that...and I'm not sure if he would have filled out bday info...he is 8/12/64 and I am 8/18/65...so not sure where DG lists bdays...but ours would have showed up this month....NOW I am on DG waaaay more than he is...isn't that funny !

Hey Judy/Debbie - My Triplets....I would have been out there stomping on feet too! Not much a concern for DS in Band....I don't think....what kind of casualties can we have with that? LOL. Debbie I think you have the 3 girls...and my 3 kids are similar....DS is the first and I don't think I'll ever get him out of the house...but DD#3 teen ....wow - I can't wait...she can be SO negative...and she obviously thinks I am bored and looking to pick her trash up off the floor...she can't even throw away a box when she has taken the last cookie/muffin/frozen thing out of it.....I'll be glad when she has her own place...I have this vision of visiting her and NOT using the coaster sitting right by my drink...leaving my dishes out... etc. Is that just horrible?

ANYWAY....My Bday was great....Thank you All. Woke up and DH had an omelette w/ OJ ready. Boss had a Bday card at my desk when I got there... Got emails/calls from friends...made a sale...Home at 6pm...DH had called and acted like no one wanted to be home "They are all at friends"....well I walked in and he was at the table, candles lit...kids jumped out..."Surprise"! Then we had Grilled fresh Tuna Steaks, potatoes, carrots and asparagus. Kids got me a Great card and Circle E candle. DH (must have listened to my "hints"..) got me a rather large Gift Certificate for an Aveda Facial...which is what I really wanted....

Plus - I still Love My New Job! Wow - life is really good right now...I need to say some extra prayers and think of some good ways to "Pay it Forward"....
