Crissy, sounds as though you've had a busy weekend as well..if we both don't stop travelling around we'll be singing 'on the road again' lol

Glenview, IL

yayay...Crissy, I beat ya to the new room...hahah.

LOL, I almost posted on the wrong thread...Good thing i scrolled up first!

Good Morning.

Betty, what splendid day on the Georgian Bay.
Your pictures are great!! I feel as though I was right there with you.
LOL, Wish I was,hot and muggy here this weekend.
Oh my gosh, your sunset simply breathtaking.
So glad you took the time to go out and enjoy the day.

Mary, you are so cute, LOL...hope your plantings do swim their way to Trisha!
Well Kiddo, thats how ya learn, right? Oh how cool I am glad the dinner was a success, just love when everyone gets along.
How great that is, Dh Caught Tuna! Oh goodness Fresh Tuna Steaks, yikes sorry I don't know a good recipe, But I sure hope you found one and your dinner is delicious, yummy.

Oh, Liz..I hope your day is good. Going to be interesting to hear how it all goes...

Trisha, wow...That is real neat that your cook for all those people. I am glad to hear it was a success.

Debbie, how are you doing??

Bev, beautiful pictures of the Sunflower!

The kids and I had a fun weekend. Jacob had his Saturday practice. First time with full gear, LOL his only comment was it was sweaty!
Yep, Mary you remembered right his position, His first game is the 28th. Pleased as punch here, that it is a home game...He is in the B Team. With so many kids playing they have to split them in half (lol, I guess) and both teams play the same time.
The girls and I did a quick house cleaning. I have taken over "dishes" for Sabrina, while her hands heal. They are clearing up quite nicely.
And then because it was so himid, we enjoyed the rest of the day having a scrabble war. Alissa was over too so we just had lots of fun.
Woohoo, I racked up some great points and won the first game, Carol would have gotten a call, to tell, yep I was Scrabble queen...
and omg, laughter resounded the screenhouse once again, lol...who needs tv when we got neighbors!! So, my neighbor asks if i minded if she jumped the fence to yank out something she couldn't reach...I say no problem, I am still laughing at how she went about it, good heavens almost couldn't watch, I was nervous thinking she was going to fall and break something, by time she made it over she could have walked around...But she was have somewhat of a tiff with her DH, they were verbally abusing eachother, yikes...So i wasn't going to stop her, but my gosh, I almost had an accident trying to keep my laughter under control, the way back over the fence...ROFLOL, i can't even decribe the vision of that but trust me it was hysterical. Geesh, her DH walked past her three times and not even an offer of assistance! MY DH, would have caught some serious words for not helping me, but then he would never just walk on by either.
We ordered all kinds of food so we didn't have to cook, and had our own buffet, that was lots of fun to do.
Then yesterday, again hot and humid...I vegitateded on my bed watching all my shows, lol think I am caught up again.
In the evening I made couple of calls to long time friends I haven't chatted with all summer. Helen, became a first time Grandma!
I haven't Seen my Friend Marge in a very long time...So we decided it was time for a visit. So, now I am planning a re-union BBQ for the end of September, will assemble my list today, oh, how exciting an actual "project"...woohoo.

Today, The girl and I are going to a Salad bar and do a little supply shoppping, School stuff for them and Material for me, LOL.
Anyway we love building a great salad and just found out about this place, so We are excited to have an end of the summer lunch.

Glenview, IL

LOL, All that and forgot to say,
Have a wonderful day all.

Raining since yesterday!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Judy!!

OMG!! Ms. Cheerful just told me that she's never ugly to anyone except her husband, and that's not very often!!!!!!!

Betty, he's constantly tearing out my plants, constantly. Her EE are coming back, so I don't think so, just as long as he doesn't do it again.

Glenview, IL

LOL, Crissy, did your mouth drop?

OMG, Forgot to tell you, Yay, got another bud on Garden Party Rose!!
and Thankfully, a couple of the stalks on my Sedum actually survived the deer!
They are flowering! Oh happy Days!

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning Judy! Sounds like you had a good weekend.

Isn't it something how the kids keep us so busy? I woke up with a quiet week ahead....but now it is almost booked solid!

Soccer practice started this morning, twice a day for two weeks. Hair cuts (including me) and packing up Shannon for college. She has orientation on Friday...all day...and I got the priveledge to take her and three friends who don't have rides! And then Saturday is move in day for the dorms.

Did I tell you Shane stepped on not one...but two...nails on Saturday when he was helping DH with a roofing job. So this afternoon we are off to the doctors as he said he wants to see his foot....and give him a tetanus booster.

Legs are doing better...I am really trying to elevate them several times a day and stay away from soda and coffee...not easy!

Have a great day
Debbie

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I had just took a big sip of coffee, it almost ended up all over my desk. Good Lord I don't understand.

Oh Debbie I feel you, it wouldn't do anyone a bit of good if I didn't have coffee.

Lyndonville, NY

Crissy...just think how charming she must be when she is in a BAD or GRUMPY mood! And to think your seeing her good side.

Now, get some paper towels and wipe your chin and desk. LOL

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Hi all. Ambulance rushed me to hospital Sun about 12:30. One of the cysts in my left kidney burst. I didn't think they would send me home but here I am. Have to go to doc tomorrow. Lord I lost my $600.00 pr of glasses so can't read. Thank goodness for good neighbors. They went and got my meds today and are going to take me to see doc tomorrow. Ernestine is going to cook me some chicken and noodles but I haven't eaten but two pieces of toast in 30 hrs. Just don't feel good and not hungry. I just can't hardly take people waiting on me but am thankful.I will post again in a couple of days. Must go lay down. LOVE &HUGS TO ALL BEV

Lyndonville, NY

Oh Bev, no! I am so sorry to hear this.

Please take care of yourself, keep fluids in yourself....and at least little bites of the chicken and noodles.

Many hugs and millions of prayers,
Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Back for a few minutes...

OMG Bev..prayers going out to you..bet Scotty was absolutely frantic, he'd not have been able to go with you correct? From someone who suffers from kidney ailments, I can just imagine the pain you are going through...why in heaven's name have they allowed you to return home?

Amen to the good neighbors and friends! Did you have your glasses with you when they took you by ambulance..maybe call hospital or ambulance service to see if either has found them..maybe in all the rush and turmoil, they may be somewhere in the house..lordy this is NOT good...you must try and eat though Bev, need strength to fight any infection..hugs to Ernestine for helping where she can...
sending prayers

PLEASE do not go MIA, have someone post updates if the can...

Debbie, rusty nails...infection can spread so rapidly..talk about a week you have ahead of you...will be different with just Shane at home during the week won't it...I just can't remember travelling as much as you all do with the kids when they were in high school...probably because I was Rec. Director and most of the events where done while I was working and the kids came with me, so no side trips after school, just my normal routine...

If you are taking Shane to the Dr.'s this aft. couldn't you just get him to check you out as well...2 for price of 1..lol...as for Shannon, guess you have to wait almost until the day before College to bring her to her residence...

People I was boating with yesterday have 2 in college, Monday of long weekend is when they are able to bring them to their dorms..makes for busy time..Larry said that once he takes them to College he's having a locksmith change the locks on the house....I so laughed...

Crissy did she see the shocked look on your face when she said it???lol

Judy, can just imagine the antics re your neighbor..now what exactly couldn't she get from your side of the property - a weed or plant?
Way to go girl, a reunion...fantastic way to get together with all and do catch up...wanted to have my family all together before the end of summer but it's so difficult with everyone's schedule..

You are probably out shopping, playing tourist..eating at a salad bar..sure wish we had one in our area...

Still watching what I'm eating..brought a salad, yogurt, fruit for lunch...

Nieces just came in from lunch, say it's so humid outside..need that racing across open waters to cool one down...wonder if I could play sick and go boating? guess not....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Viola posted the following on our Canadian thread..thought you might enjoy...

THIS IS A NONPARTISAN JOKE THAT CAN BE ENJOYED BY All PARTIES!
NOT ONLY THAT-- it is POLITICALLY CORRECT!!

While walking down the street one day a "Member of Parliament" is tragically hit by a truck and dies.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

'Welcome to heaven,' says St. Peter. 'Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you.'

'No problem, just let me in,' says the man.

'Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.'

'Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,' says the MP.

'I'm sorry, but we have our rules.'

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.

They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly & nice guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises...

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.

'Now it's time to visit heaven.'

So, 24 hours pass with the MP joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

'Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.'

The MP reflects for a minute, then he answers: 'Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.'

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.

He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. 'I don't understand,' stammers the MP. 'Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable.
What happened?'

The devil looks at him, smiles and says, 'Yesterday we were campaigning.. ..

Today you voted.'

BEV!!!! Oh I am so sorry to hear about your kidneys!! Take care of yourself, I have had past kidney/bladder problems and there is no other pain like it.

LOL Betty, I have no idea if she noticed or not, I was looking down at my desk at the time, but my eyes got huge and I paused.

Lyndonville, NY

Now Betty....he is a pediatrician...I don't think he will do me much good! ROFL but thank you for the concern. He does his own bit of scolding me, so don't worry. His wife came out for Shannons graduation party....and I was having a bad day, so no doubt she reported back.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Debbie!! That's a scary thought. You never know about the pediatrician, he might just have the right stuff for you.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Betty, adorable kitty picture!!

Bev, very scary....do take care...keeping you in our prayers....

Waving to all, have a lot to do today while Bill is home to help with some things...will check back later...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Trisha is Bill on vacation? don't you love having a hubby you can pass on 'honey do' lists ..miss that more than you can imagine....miss working hand and hand with each other more!

Debbie, I'd be showing anyone who would look in hopes they have a solution to the swelling...

So humid, looks like a storm will shortly pass through..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hello all!
My goodness Bev! Kidney prob is nothing to think about lightly! I can't understand why they sent you home, either. Shortage of beds, perhaps? Not a good reason.......

back @ work today, and was having Thread Withdrawal. Seems some of my threads went "Unwatch" so I didn't know any were being updated! Hopefully my "link" to the outside world is back and "running" lol I missed so many of you when I was AWOL lol

~Susan~

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

It's humid here too, then again, it's always humid here :p
Oh, now it's too bright in here, I think someone has a migraine and needs to go home instead of giving us all the grief with it. What's hilarious, is there was a migraine all last week until the minute she found out she was leaving an hour early last Friday, then poof! Migraine all gone, and she was all happy! Amazing how that works. I'm thinking about taking Monday off next week, I'm going to go see my mom this next weekend and wanted to either leave work at noon Thursday to get to her house by 6pm and then take Friday off, but she has Friday off, and since Everyone in this office has made it impossible to work until 5pm any day of the week that leaves me stuck, which means I'll be getting to her house at midnight Saturday morning, and if I work Monday I'll be getting home Sunday night and going to work Monday morning, where's the weekend there? So I'm thinking about taking Monday off so I at least get a day to myself.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Vacation???? What is that???
No...Bill works for Alpine Experience Wednesday thru Saturday......his days off are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and he does his Bicycle Frame Building on those days.....if I am lucky I can get a bit of help here and there on those days.

Victoria Harbour, ON

The bikes he makes are special orders Trisha? glad he's there to help youu out from time to time...

told Greg/Jeff that I was making a 'honey do' list and know they are both busy..going to hire myself a man one weekend to do all the odds/ends...

Liz, tell Kenny I saw this project, thought of the project he's intending on doing and thought he could design this one as well...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Yes we do custom bikes, take all the measurement and information, start with a stack of tubes and turn it all into a bike...

help??? He will lift heavy stuff for me....keeps His bath cleaned and occasionally will help with dishes or floors...depending on the state of my back that day.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

So would professional bikers i.e. racers order the bikes? or individuals re height and weight? interesting....if you have an order how long approx. would it take...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

All of the above......If an order were placed right now we would probably be looking at around six months....once he is ready to start working on a frame it only takes a week or two (depending on his regular work obligations) to actually make the frame and fork......the painter we use is in Colorado and it generally takes four to six weeks to get through paint and returned to us. He only does a couple of orders a year due to his regular work schedule. We know a lot of U.S. Frame builders that build full time and many of them have five years of orders waiting for production.....I don't know how they can do that....

This is a frame in the jig, mid production....

Argh she was going to ask for Monday off to give herself a 4 day weekend, if she wants it I'll give it to her and give myself a sucky weekend of doing nothing but driving. How stupid that would be, but I have to go see mom, I don't have a choice. 6 hours there on Saturday, 6 hours home on Sunday. JOY!! Now I'm in a bad mood, *(*^&*^

Who ever said one day off doing nothing but driving was vacation??? LOLLLLLL!!!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

A new bike ready to go....wish I had a better camera for these pics...

Ooo that's nice!!

Oh this day just keeps getting better. I just got a notice from Kodak saying that their new terms and conditions state that they're charging to use their storage, and I owe them $4.99 or my photos are going to be deleted. Delete them, I've moved them all to my computer's hard drive anyway. Oh how I want to reply to that email, I'll just keep using Picasa, I'm not paying for picture storage when it's offered at no charge. How stupid.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Trisha, they must be serious bikers...remember going into a bike shop near Clearwater Florida and omg I could have purchased a car for what they were charging for some of the bikes...couldn't believe it...that really is something...quite an art I would say..now tell me, do you have one of these specialty bikes???? or are you like the shoeman's family who have no shoes..lol..

Beautiful bike..who would be some that you've taken on to build there bikes for...professional athletes? clubs?

Crissy, we'll be doing much the same this weekend...with border crossing and time to get to Pennsylvania not much time will be left for sightseeing...and from what I gather, Sharon is not sure she won't be in hospital because of her back..offered to go myself and her stay home..we'll see what happens..

YOUR mom is worth it...bite the bullet and smile...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Have to get Jeff Crissy to download in discs all my photo's from previous and present computer..imagine it uses up a lot of space..keeps saying he will then forgets about it...

Braedon just sent me photo of his weekend...

Kids now days have it in the bag don't they...summer camp, up at the cottage..too much fun..they sure won't be excited about going to school on Sept. 8th...

Can you imagine that hockey will be starting next week for them..won't get to see them much after that..

Thank goodness for computers and chat lines...

Under our personal label we have built mostly for area racers, a few on the east coast, club members etc.. In the past we worked for several of the big well know national bicycle companies....Ross Bicycles (East Coast), Fisher Mountain Bikes (California), Alpinestars (California/Italy)....during that time some of the bikes Bill designed went to some well known people, a member of the Grateful Dead got a bike and had the skull and roses from one of their albums painted on the head tube of his bike, Danielle Steele, the writer, bought a tandem bicycle, and of course these companies had Pro Bike Teams and we designed a made the bikes for the team riders.

I know what you mean about prices......but some people have more money than sense....we lost an order for a Tandem Bicycle several years ago because we didn't charge enough....we price the particular bike around $7000.....they ended up getting one from a company that charged them $14,000......they were more interested in Cost and Status than Ridability.....as Bill often says..."no accounting for folks..."

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hockey, already?? My Goodness this summer went fast! They really do Betty, they don't know how good they have it. That's a lot of space, nothing takes up more space than pictures, you'll be surprised how much faster your computer will run.

Dang, I'm hungry.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh....oh.......... hungry!! me too!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hi Susan, for you to be saying you are hungry you must be feeling better...

Birdhouse all cut out, going to have something to eat 'me hungry too' lol and then glue it, prime it and ready to paint..I'm so trying to have it done before leaving for the USA so I can mail it to my bud from there..kinda big, but that's ok...I'd show you but someone just might be lurking....
Must make myself one...

OMG/OMG twice over..earlier today I mentioned getting a 'honey do' list together and paying someone to come and do some of it on weekends.. Greg must have taken me to heart..we've not had heat/humidity yet this season, really only past few days....came home expecting house to be an oven, guess who took time to put in my air conditioner? had been permanently installed in dining room but with getting new picture window it had to be removed and never relocated...he's in heating / refrigeration..we talked a bit and this spring air will be installed..no more having him drop by and put it in...geeze he's a sweetie...

Before long I'll be looking for my flannels..lol...

Trisha that's an amazing list of clients..don't you just have to wonder though for people to NOT purchase something because they think the price is cheap..had a professional artist who lives in Naples, Florida every winter, sells his paintings and makes a good living, maybe better than good, anyway he said if you raise what you think it's worth 2 or 3 times more then it's sure to sell ..odd isn't it..

You didn't get to meet Danielle Steele now did you? Have to go back and read your post, don't remember if you said YOU had one of his treasures?

Crissy, now that Greg did the air, I should call Jeff and say I'll attempt to do so..that alone will make him do it...he knows just how computer literate I am..he's now working day and night on a special program that hits the market next month, we'll see, an afternoon with mom wouldn't hurt...

Back to the grind...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yes Betty - thank you. I'm back to normal (whatever that may be lol)
I had my appetite back by Friday night, but then I at "Steak Neptune" when my DM took us out for dinner, and that's a dish with asparagus and hollindaise sauce. Talk about Rich....... turned my tummy again, so I waited to eat anymore heavy until Sunday.
I'm totally fine now, thanks for asking ^_^

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Betty, had to laugh when you asked if we met Danielle Steele.....No......our boss back then had an ego the size of California and insisted on delivering the bike personally...he was quite insulted when the help who answered the door directed him around to the servants entrance to make a delivery.....how rude of them because HE is so well known in the bike industry, they should have known him !!!!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I just wanted to let everyone know that I was here and hadn't disappeared off the face of the earth and ask for prayers that I get a job. It's gotten to the point of critical mass and I'm overwhelmingly stressed and depressed over the whole thing.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Laura, of course you have our prayers..sometimes you just can't understand why nice people have terrible things happening in their lives... this is a difficult time to be finding employment, but the Lord is in charge of miracles .. may he grant you yours...

How is Sage doing..anxious for school season to begin, has she friends in the area you've now moved to? You are enjoying the house though and the gardens you've worked on...let's hope that at least brings you joy...

Trisha, imagine that..I'm sure he was frothing at the mouth not being brought directly to her...staff could probably sense his arrogance..should have send Bill...

Susan, you'll have to watch your tummy for awhile..p.s. are any of of normal, actually someone should tell me what normal is....lol

Calling it a night..takes me until at least Tuesday to get over the weekends..Greg just called to see if I had my snowmobile suit on yet..crazy kid!

Best of the day...grateful for all the wonderful things I've been given today..even enjoyed cutting and putting together the birdhouse..now to seal the wood and I'm ready to paint tomorrow night...

Worse of the day..nothing at all, if I HAD to pick something it would be the sawdust all over the basement from cutting wood..yuk

What did I learn today? A man came in, overwhelmed by debt, no money to even pay for services so Paul found a trustee who would put him through at a minimal cost..so did learn that although he's always busy he still has time to do good deed...

Good Lord willing we'll gab tomorrow...

Night/night...

Where's my flannels...lol

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

In answer to an earlier question Betty....I do not currently have a bike except for our Tandem...Bill gets me a bike for trainer classes during the winter, then when nice weather arrives I don't ride it as much as he thinks I should (I ride tandem with him most of the time) so he sells it....

Mary!!!! They are here and planted!!! I think they will perk up just fine!! It was warm in that box and they are happy to be planted!!! I saw the post arrive so they were only in our box here for about four minutes!
