'Mornin' everyone! Well Claudette was more hype than anything for us yesterday. Not complaining. We have received very little rain compared to other days this week but they are saying now Ana might be following in Claudette's path and this coming weekend might be soggy. Oh well, that's what happens when you live in Florida.

No baby sitting today so like Barb, it is a sewing day. Plus doing up all the towels from the freezer mess!! Thanks goodness we didn't lose very much.

Cindy, I am so happy to hear things are looking some better. I am sure the baby coming to visit will be great therapy. The doctor's encouraged our son to bring our oldest grandchild to visit Ross in the last days as it really "perked" him up. AH, the wonderment of children and their effects on people.

Linda Kay, have fun at therapy and take care of yourself, please.

Well I need to go as I have promised myself I will accomplish certain things today. Can't do it sitting at the computer.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion, what happened to your freezer? I missed something I think!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

It died Friday night. Luckily we were able to salvage most everything in it but there was a mess to be dealt with.

Hamilton, OH

Jaye, good morning & a good morning to all
I sure have missed a lot, for the last 2 days, I have been having a plant sale, now I have a chance to get caught up
my prayers are with a lot of you, having a rough time right now, I hope to be on more often

Elizabeth

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning ladies.

LK, have fun at your therapy session! Make that knee dance!

Cindy, thanks for the update. Rusty will be further 'encouraged' with his son's visit. Now those 170 calls can be turned into prayers too.
Good news indeed for your daughter's MIL.
Continue to keep us posted.

Maid M., we pray there'll be just TS and no hurricanes this year. Still, I hope you're in good supply with canned goods and drinking water.
Glad to hear you didn't lose $$$ when that freezer died.
This year has certainly been taxing on your pocket book! Poor you!

Hi Elizabeth. Was the sale a good one? Still wondering what secret recipe you have for your beautiful brugmansias.

Just drained today from yesterday evening's unexpected running around.
Didn't even cook chicken rice as I had planned. We were on the road---even missed 2nd church service--- and Fritos was what we had for supper!
When we return, my brains turned to mush.

So, like Barb and Maid M., I think today I can at least cut fabrics and sew. Don't think I can muster energy to cook nor do anything that require much moving around.

Have a fabulous Monday everyone.
Oops.. just remember that I do have to water the plants.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hi All! Went MIA for the weekend, if we even had a weekend, I think I missed it. I'm sure my farm is dead on Farm Town too.

I'll have to catch up with the thread later, I have a boatload of work to do.

I did a lot of yard work Saturday, Dave weedeated and I supervised, caught him going between plants twice, yelled at him both times and told him he needs constant supervision. I'm worried, he got a full nights sleep last night and was up by 7 this morning with nothing to do, I'm afraid I'm going to go home and find no weeds, and no plants to go with it.

I have to go see my mom next weekend since I missed this one completely, where did it go?? I'm thinking about taking half of Thursday and all of Friday off, going for Thursday night and Friday night, and come home Saturday morning, otherwise I'll take half of Friday and all of Monday, I'd rather have Sunday at home than Monday. They're retired so it really doesn't matter to them. If I wait much longer it's going to be too close to the conferences to take any time off, and I have one hour shy of 3 days.

See ya'll later!

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Howdy All,

Late getting going today. I went out to water at 7;30 and realized it was nice and cool so I trimmed all the irises and did some cleaning up. Took a few coleus cuttings and by the time I got back in it was after 9. Had to do the treadmill and then get cleaned up.

Jaye..been meaning to ask how Murdock is doing?

Cindy will continue to send positive energy for Rusty. I sincerely hope he exceeds the expectations of all the Dr.s In my astute opinion (LOL) from having been in the profession, I would submit that most of the time they don't know squat. They just like to think they do.

Boy I sound negative today don't I? Guess I better crawl back under my rock and be quiet.

Juanita

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

OMG!! Ms. Cheerful just told me that she's never ugly to anyone except her husband, and that's not very often!!!!!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Taking a break, we were missed completely by the weather. Very little rain yesterday afternoon was it. Now we watch to see if Ana hold together and what she will do. This morning she was forecast to follow the same path as Claudette--time will tell. Bill, I think has decided to turn and go out into the Atlantic--or last word I check he was.

Juanita, you are not the only one with that opinion. I think some doctors should retire way before they do. I blame one for not being as thorough as he should have been with signs of my husband's cancer. Although it was a hard one to detect he could have gone further at the beginning--wouldn't have saved him in the end but would have given him several more years. Off my soapbox!!!

How is the sewing coming Jaye?

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi Ladies,
I sent some of you an email for a link on Facebook to send Rusty a get well message. I don't know how to add friends on Facebook. So feel free to send it to others from DG, that I may not be friends with on Facebook. Did I make sense????

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

To add friends, click on their picture, it will bring up a page that asks you if you want them to be friends with you, click yes or whatever the link says, it will send them a notice that you want to be friends, if they approve, then you're friends!
If you get a friends request from someone else, just click on it.

Hi Jaye
just got back on for a minute, my secret, for healthy Brugs, in the fall, when I have to cut back, I leave a big plant, so the next season, it Blooms faster, I use Miracle grow, 3 times a week, with the sprayer that you attach to the water hose
my sale, went well the first day, then the second day it was lousy, if I could get Cookie to come over, I could send her home with a 5ft Frosty Pink, I have 4 of them, that I have to find homes for, can you come for a visit? I can send you home with one as well
has anyone heard from Cody?

Elizabeth

Beautiful out this morning....suppose to be in the eighties by the end of the day so need to get some outside stuff done before it gets too warm....and plenty I need to get done inside too while I have Bill home to help lift some things...

Hope the storms are missing everyone...

Cindy, continued prayers, thanks for keeping us posted.

Well, not getting much done sitting here....everyone have a great day...

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Anyone heard from Marilyn to know if she is OK? I don't know exactly where she is in relation to the storm.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Good Morning, all - I lost this thread for awhile - thought no one was posting!! (I lost a coule of threads, actually - musta been CRS lol)
Cindy - I'm praying for Rusty...... We'd all love to know that he's able to see his son grow up, and I know his son needs his Dad for a long time, yet ^_^
God bless you, and keep you & yours safe!!

btw - I don't know what to make of this - you know how you've been praying for my co-worker to become a person with a better disposition towards people...... well, she's quitting this job & will take another one in the same co. but I won't be working anywhere near her! I just found out this am when I returned from my vacation. God works in mysterious ways......... I hope she's happier.
AND her boss is quitting too - to go back to Seattle with his family! So there will be a new Division Head next to where I work too. Geeze, only my Division Head & I are the stable ones lol Too strange - I go on vacation, and everyone decides to move on in different directions.......

Ah well, we shall have to see what happens in my area @ work!

Glad I "found" you all again, and hope everyone's enjoying their day!

Susan, I don't know what's going on with Rusty, he's not mine. I'm too busy here at work today to catch up with the thread.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Rusty is Cindy's cousin, Susan.

Juanita, I am sure Marilyn is okay as the weather did pass much to the south of us. She may have had some rain but then again if she was like us--not much. This coming weekend we will be watching again to see what Ana does--if she is still in the loop. BTW, I live west of Marilyn and keep watching the radar.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hello All,

Just came from my aunt's, got to see my cousin Cora and her 3 handsome boys. She had come out for Auntie Bev's surprise b-day party, but then Rusty's accident happened. She was able to tell us more about Rusty as once again mom and I received the wrong information. So then I came home to read the page they have set up for get well wishes for him. So to those of you that I sent the link to if you click on his picture you it will take you to that page. But then you all know that, lol many steps ahead of me.

Cindy I am so sorry today was horrid and I think the rest of this week is going to be the same and I didn't get to catch up until now. My thoughts and prayers are going out to Rusty and all his family, what a horrible horrible accident.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

No, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth if any of you were worried. I'm just overwhelmingly stressed out and depressed over finding a job; I desperately need one, any prayer that I get one would be greatly appreciated. I'm to the point that except for a few things I don't even care what the job is as long as it pays.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yep, but if he pulls out of this, and realizes he has no arms we are all so afraid that he will not want to live. So they making a dvd of his son to play repeatedly and posting a huge picture on the ceiling over his bed. Everytime I talk to anyone about this, like right now I just break down and cry.

Laura, a year ago March, I was in the exact same position as you. Then I went to a church I'd never been to before (knew it existed, but didn't know where). I was totally depressed and crying in church. Then I left it all in the Lord's hands, and the next thing you knew I had 3 job offers, and at rates of pay I wouldn't have dreamed of, let alone the wonderful things they said about me.
I Know how hard it is for you (I still have thoughts about the nightmarish time I had then) so believe me when I say - My heart goes out to you, and my prayers are that God will find the job that's just Perfect for you!! One thing I was advised was:
Think about the perfect job, and what parts of it you Require to make you happy, then focus on those things. When you're offered more than one, go back to your list and measure which one has what you want. It worked for me - right to the park nearby where I can go for my "green-space" time..... It's unbelievable, I know.........

Cindy - My prayers are that Rusty will be able to get past this. The 1st thing is that he survives this, and the next thing is that he is mentally able to survive and thrive. It's a horrible thing to imagine what we'd do without hands, however I've seen people who have specialized keyboards that go vertical for the arm handicapped. They really have fabulous technology nowadays!

Bless you both, Laura & Cindy/Rusty.

~Susan~

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Cindy, Once he gets through this initial stage he will need some therapy but there is hope and it is amazing what they can do these days.....we have two customers that we have known since they were very small and both have no arms....they ride bikes and do all kinds of things....another customer lost her legs in a motorcycle accident...she is back riding now. It will help a lot having that little one there...it gives him a good reason to go on....one of the hardest things is going to be for the rest of the family to get to the point that they can treat him normally....for some, especially men, it is people feeling sorry for them and wanting to do everything for them that adds to the difficulty. Rusty, and all of the family, are in our prayers.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Boy, I know and that is just how his mom and grandma will be. They'll be wanting to do everything for him.My aunt is a retired LVN. But I'm thinking that they will go though some training on how best to take care of him. His dad is a retired Army Major and very stern and tough so I think he will be the rock through out this whole thing.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning all.
Thank you for the advice.
Can't believe you are all promoting alcohol!! Lolol!! Nope, no Bailey's for me LK. Hmm.. had whiskey in hot tea in the past Crissy for a bad cold.
Kel read this thread last night, and he says one can tell AA would be glad to count some SI sistahs as new members.
if they're not already are!!!

Confessed to an old preacher one day that when a cold hits, I hit JD for medicinal purpose. He raised his eyebrows, and said.. "Everything in moderation still the best will be Robitussin!" (Robitussin has some alcohol, btw)

I'm still not up to par. Think I have some urinary/bladder/kidney (UTI) infection. Anyone heard ot the wonders of Alka-Seltzer plus cranberry juice?
That's what I'll be doctoring myself with. Did that last year, and it went away, something about the amount of citric acid plus aspirin.

Susan, I don't have the Dorian Gray syndrome... geesh.. absinthe... blech back @ you!
BTW, He certainly gave you His Peace, by removing her ;) Philippians 4:6-7

No Barb and Marion, didn't touch the rotary cutter and the sewing machine. Only fabric was the one I snuggled in, and now draping across my shoulders!

Elizabeth, I haven't heard from Cody. When she's ready, I am sure she'll call one of us. Just pray for her.

Still praying for all and the urgency of Rusty fighting for his life, tugged at all our hearts, Cindy.
Cindy, go ahead and add me on Face Book.. and for that matter everyone else. It's under Jaye Blanchard.

Juanita, thank you for asking about Murdock. He has to take shots 2 days before his chemo treatment. His blood count is always low. Had advised him to take some blackstrap molasses, but that man is stubborn.

Laura, so glad to see you.
Susan just gave a wise advise.
In almost similar situation, I did the same thing. No job, ex decided to accuse me of adultery.. all the prayers led to nowhere. So, one day, coming back from church, I pulled over. At the steering wheel, I bawled my heart out, and told the Lord I quit trying to control the situation.. released everything to Him, cause He knows what's best for me. Will take whatever He willed me to have and do.
It's not too long after that He took charge ^_^

Oh coffee's ready.
Going back to bed.
Waving at Donna.. Trisha..
For those I missed waving HI.. here are my huggggs.
Will return soon.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Jaye, hope your feelin better real soon!
No alcohol in this house for more than two months now!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ok all - I am NOT an alcoholic!! I talk a big talk, but you have to know me really well to know it's ALL TALK!
I like being flippant and silly - but am an intensely loveable person lol Or should I just say Intense?!?!?
I managed to have 4 beer this summer, cuz it was hot & my mom likes to have one/day. If I have a dozen drinks/year, that's about my limit.

Jaye - Silly minister to forget that Robitussin has alky lol But he's right - everything in moderation. In our church they won't even have the sacremental wine for communion! I say, if Jesus could have it, then what's a thimble-full going to hurt?

Anyway - off my soapbox LOL

Hope everyone has a terrific day!!

~Susan~

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

When I was a kid my grandfather used to try to get me to take a shot of whiskey when I had a sore throat. YUK! I still don't like whiskey, give me a margarita and I'm a happy camper!!

Oh I can't sleep at night, I'm exhausted during the day and wide awake at night. This has got to quit, Dave even tried helping me last night and it didn't work.

I guess I should get to work, Laura glad you posted. I've been in that boat also, but Susan that's some real good advise, it's amazing what He can do.

Well, I've got to get to work here, again. I'm so burnt out on this crap, I know we're not supposed to hate anything, but I hate accounting! LOL
