Good morning all!
Not you too Maid M!!! Oh no.. we're losing more sistahs to this new online addiction!
Do drop in and grace us with whatever little time you can spare.
Psst.. you need to post pics on what you got from Trisha!

You too Synda! We may have to start a Farmtown Anonymous!
Seriously, I'm glad He's looking out for you when your brakes decided to act up. Could have been worse.
Not wishing for the cold to get here soon, Synda... but we hope you take some breaks and say hi to us at least :D
Whitney will keep you on your toes! That will speed up your losing weight!! Love you sistah!

So, LK.. how late do you stay up on Farmtown?

Enjoy your book Judy!! That's a little gift for the big joy you gave me ;)

Phyllis, pretty soon you'll be at work. Hope the wedding will go well for you.

Trisha, I can't wait to see what your painting. I'm sure Sage will throw in her six cents!!

Coffee's on.. simple breakfast of fresh cantaloupes and cottage cheese!

Have a good day everyone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee.
I am off and running to therapy, and will be back after lunch!
Jaye, I am off into bed by 10:00 at the latest. I know I have to get up in the morning.

Welcome to Beverly. I do hope you tell us about your gardens, your flowers, and we do love pictures!

Later

Linda Kay

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I joined YoVille too, that's different and I think I like it better than the farming.

Who wants to be my neighbor/friend??

I'm in sooo much trouble, today's my mom's birthday and her phone number, along with everyone else's phone numbers, are in that phone. What's worse is Dave's going to be texting me between 11 and 2, and it's on vibrate with a very low battery, so even if the battery is still up he'll never hear it ding in the house. I guess I'll have to call him and hopefully he'll answer his phone so I can get him to give me my mom's phone number, and have him plug it in.

Love ya'll! Jaye I wish you weren't on Dail Up, FarmTown and Farmville is a lot of fun and no one is going to switch over from this to that, it's a completely different world over there, and it's easy to combine the two, at home I always have two tabs open, one for Facebook and one for DG! LOL

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Morning, I think! Don't worry Jaye, I will never forsake this group--they pulled me through some very rough days a little over a year ago! Besides, I have some wonderful friends here I miss not chatting with.

Elizabeth, I am not really a night owl just couldn't sleep last night for some reason. I usually go to bed around 9:30 when I babysit the granddaughters as they are very active and I need all the rest I can manage to stay up (or is it down on the floor) with them. One more week and they will start back to school.

Jaye, my sister is on dial-up and appears to be much slower at getting connections than you do. She would love to be on FT but can't. Last time she tried she waited 45 minutes and still hadn't loaded. Talk about living in the boonies!!

I will be posting pictures but Kim has my camera in her car and I forget to get it out. Just to exhausted when I get home!!!!!

Well need to do some much needed errands in town so I will go for now as I want to get back home before the rains start. Oh yes, we are getting plenty of rain now.

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Enjoy the chicken recipe everyone!! I'd love it with mushrooms too, but DH doesn't eat that kind of stuff.

Welcome to the new folks. The more the merrier.

LK get that knee better OK?

As usual a day off and I've just barely finished breakfast. Between watering and doing a coleus inventory this morning and the treadmill, I am behind already.

Guess I better get going!
Talk to all later,

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

The only thing to do is get Satellite Internet, I had to, couldn't handle it.

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Howdy all.. On my lunch break and checking in before I go check on my farm.. lol

Hopefully tonight I will get some batteries and get things moving with Tristens fashion show.. One of the gals I work with brought me 3 ziploc baggies ofplant seed stoday.. Columbine, money plant and sweet pea vine.. Then I gathered morning glory sededs from th ealley by the shop and met a puppy that has been barking at me.. lol Hes a very sweet dog and ust wnated a pat on the head and side..

sorry Crissy no Yoville for me.. one adiction is enough on facbook..

Hi Beverley! Welcome to teh sistah hood.. Are you ready for all your questions yet?

BBL waving hello to all

Donna

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, did you lose a phone somwewhere? Hope you find it soon!
Marion glad to see you popping in! I know you will be glad when the girls start school again.
Therapy went well, just gotta find those lost muscles and wake them up!
Brug is still blooming. All the ones I had in pots last year, grew to at least 6 foot tall, if not more. These in the new Angel garden, are all of maybe 3 foot, but now starting to produce some blooms. Just miniatures I guess? I will take them, no matter what size!

LK

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning,

Just checking in. Yep I could not sleep last night either. When I work outside I don't have a problem, but yesterday I didn't so I was really restless. Finally fell asleep after 1 am then was awake at 5:30, so I'm very sleepy. GAWD!! I can't beleive how many people are on Facebook/Farmtown. Found out that Rick is one of them ugh!!!!

So anyhooo...........Mom and I are taking my grandkids to Round Table for lunch today. Haven't seen them in a couple of weeks. School will be starting on the 19th so I will see them even less. Kain is going to try out for the marching band and soccer team. He's going to be a freshman, wonder how many girlfriends he'll end up with, lol.

Well I need to do something or I gonna fall asleep at the puter....... TTYL ^_^

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Maid M., so glad that you chose to be active on DG! Think we all have benefitted somehow from your friendship.

Crissy, they want too much for Sattelite connection in this boondocks!! I'd be sacrificing on swaps and fabrics!! Can't go through withdrawals!!

Juanita, I cooked a one pot meal for lunch. Had some grind meat and from my strawbales, eggplants, tomatoes and basil. Threw them together, after browning the meat, with some Provencal seasonings.. add some pasta.. leave an inch of stock over the mixture and (like I love to say) voila! It was satisfying.
But will try that chicken next week or for a Sunday supper.

You know LK, Elizabeth need to share with us what she's been using on her brugs, to get beautiful flushes like that!
The rain had been 'leaching' the leaves and had to apply epsom salts this morning. That will green them up a bit.
The ones on the ground are less than 3 ft., but some are already budding. Versi Orange produced flowers longer than the plant!!
I have Wretched Mess, about 5 ft. tall, still in its' pot... no blooms.

Beverly, hope to 'read' from you more.

Donna, we'll be waiting p-a-t-i-e-n--------------Hurry will ya with Tristen's fashion show!!!!!!!

Oh no Cindy!! Does that mean you're giving up FB? Nah.. don't let Rick stop you from enjoying what you're doing!

Gonna rub these old legs down with Ben Gay...

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I haven't hardly even been on FB. Too many other things for me to do. I only checked it because my neice posted a messge. I can not handle that Farmtown thing. But it sure is a hit man the people that play it, and yep Rick is one of them.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Cindy, you can play farmtown, with out him even knowing it!
Unless you invite him to be your neighbor?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LK, I didn't lose my phone, it's sitting next to the computer desk at home, unfortunately I'm 45 minutes away at work :( And I am lost without it!!

LOL Jaye, it's expensive to start it up, but when you're a nerd like I am you just have to have it!

I don't have time either, my mom got me into all of that. Good Grief!

Coushatta, LA

Howdy everyone......hope you are enjoying your day....

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hope you're enjoying yours too Cody! I'll be enjoying it a lot more when 5pm gets here! LOL

Coushatta, LA

Thanks,Crissy,oh it's a lazy day for now.I'm going out to mow when it gets cooler.Oh Crissy you are ready to hit farm town.hehehe

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Just got this in a email and wanted to share it with all of you!

NEED WASHING??
A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Target. She must have been
6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence..
It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain
gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down
the spout. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of
the Target.

We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their
hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound
and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world.
Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a
welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all
caught in 'Mom let's run through the rain,' she said.
'What?' Mom asked.

'Let's run through the rain!' She repeated

'No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down a bit,' Mom replied.

This young child waited about another minute and repeated: 'Mom, let's run
through the rain,'

'We'll get soaked if we do,' Mom said..

'No, we won't, Mom.. That's not what you said this morning,' the young
girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm.

This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get
wet?

'Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you
said, 'If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything!'

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn't hear anything
but the rain.. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few
minutes.
Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some
would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore
what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child's
life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom
into faith.

'Honey, you are absolutely right. Let's run through the rain. If GOD let's
us get wet, well maybe we just needed washing,' Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they
darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their
shopping bags over their heads just in case. They got soaked. But they
were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way
to their cars.

And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can
take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can
ever take away your precious memories....So, don't forget to make time and
take the opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a
season and a time to every purpose under heaven.
I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate
them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Send
this to the people you'll never forget and remember to also send it to the
person who sent it to you. It's a short message to let them know that
you'll never forget them..

If you don't send it to anyone, it means you're in a hurry.

Take the time to live!!!

Keep in touch with your friends, you never know when you'll need each
other -- and don't forget to run in the rain!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I received this e-mail a while back, but think I needed to read it again. What a message it brings to all of us. Thanks for posting it.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

All this talk about FB. I'm more active now, than last year, since my nephews and nieces think I shoud be.. :( Lucky them.
When I was their age, all the only words I was exposed to were what were in the papers.. and then use a pair of scissors to cut out shapes!!

Hi Cody. Sorry I missed your call. When Kel returned, we had to run a few errands OOT but managed to spend a few minutes at a bookstore.

Thanks for that reminder Donna, that we need to just 'break loose' sometimes and take time to really enjoy life. As we age, we've become fuddy duddies.. you know the ones we promised not to turn into when we're little?
When my nieces and nephew were here, Kel and I had a ball with them. We do things their way.. as long as it's safe. There was so much laughter. I had forgotten how it felt to be a kid!
Yes, we got to make happy memories that don't cost anything!

This is a potted cutting of Enchanted Dbl. White. The parent so far has no blooms, but the baby has! Brought it indoors to scent the living room..

I just recevied some awful news. My aun't whom we were having the 80th birthday party for, oldest grandson was electrocuted while at work. He works for PG&E and was up on a pole working. He fell 25 feet from a pole hit a building whiched help break his fall otherwise he would have died. 30% of his body is burnt and they had to amputate both arms at the elbows. He has several broken bones throughout his body, and is on life support. the doctor said it's touch and go. My mom babysat him when he was a toddler for my cousin while she worked. He's 35, I think and has a 2 year old boy.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh Lord! Cindy, we'll be praying for him right away...

Need his name, Cindy.

"Dear Lord, we pray that You show mercy to this man and heal him, Lord, we ask that you provide the best knowledge to his doctors and med. staff. We ask too that your promise of not forsaking those that need comforting, holds for his family and loved ones.
All these we ask in Jesus' name, accepting it's all according to His will."

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you Cindy.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

She is, but what she is on right now is not working very well....all prayers are greatly appreciated.

Donna

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi Jaye,
Thank you for the prayer for Rusty.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning ladies,
coffee is on, sorry you missed it Donna.
Cindy, you're up early. You are very welcome. Hope the doctors can help Rusty.

Prayers said this morning for us that need.
What a great communion prayers are between the Lord and us. When words failed, just recite the simple "Our Father", where in the Good Book, He advised us to do so. Even saying the 23rd Psalm can comfort us.
He is our anchor in our life's sea of storms.

Not doing any shopping today, but staying in town for groceries, and gonna get bags of mulch.
For the past three years, we've used Timberline compost as mulch, cause our soil truly lack nutrients. Of course, the compost didn't hold weeds down, but we've seen an improvement in the plants. So, this year, we're returning to shredded bark mulch.
Hope it won't rain today.

Have a great day today.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well Thursday night I could not fall asleep, I think it was around 2 am when I finally did. Then was awake at 5:30 am. Then getting the news about Rusty just really drained me and I cried myself to sleep last night. Woke up at 4 am, so I thought I'd check things on the puter and do some thing in the house so I can get an early start outside this morning. I've got some Iris comeing so I need to get a spot ready for them plus make some markers. The temps are surppose to be in the high 80's today and there is a breeze so I can get alot done. It won't be so hot.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone!
Jaye, thanks for the coffee. That is a beautiful double white brug!
Wow, Cindy, sending prayers for a quick recovery, and very gentle (((((HUGS))))) to Rusty.
Trisha, Sending prayers your way for Laura and Sean too!

Everyone have a great day!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Your family must be in turmoil, Cindy.. worrying.
Are you quite a distance from Rusty and his family? A visit might help ease your mind somewhat.

I'm too far away from my family if anything happened. Require purchase of expensive plane tickets, and I thank God for the phone.

Hey LK. L'amour bloom too. Another pink and these single pinks if placed together, somehow do resemble each other. Except for a few darker ones or those with long 'twangers'.

C_Susan, I know you've made happy memories on your mum's visit. You can exclude the tummy flu part :D

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Not that far but there are so many people there now, I think we would just be in the way. My mom is on the phone with my aunt now. Will have an update soon.
He is in the same hospital where mom had her knee surgery.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I know you'll keep us posted.
Will be gone in a few, but every chance I get, prayers for him continue... and for you too Cindy.
Hugs my sistah.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

He's still holding on.
