North Central Texas Fall Roundup Trade Thread.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Does anyone have a gallon glass pickle jar with screw on top to trade ? We have started making pickled watermelons and need more jars! Thanks, Anna

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 7b)

no... but had a thought... try some BBQ restaurants. THEY use lots of pickles!!!

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

I believe most of the institutional sizes are now plastic. If so, just soak in baking soda for a while. That will deodorize it.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I boiled eggs the other day and thought back to when I USED to go into bars that had the huge jars of giant sour pickles, pickled eggs, pickled pigs feet, and those greasy red sausage out on the counters. It is a wonder they didn't kill someone! LOL!

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

I have 4 Kerr canning jars (I think they're pint-sized) -- does anyone want them?

Carla

Hutchins, TX

Carla, if no one needs them I'll take em.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 7b)

We are looking for some Cast Iron Plants. If you have any to divide... we can put them in full shade!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Oops wrong thread.

BajaBlue, are the Tuscan Blue rosemary cuttings or plants?

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Phyllis, I'll bring the jars for you.

Carla

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I've experienced a minor set-back, but we'll still be there!

I tried to lop off the side of one of my fingers this past Tuesday while harvesting some bell peppers. Took a little trip to CareNow and ended up with 5 stitches and a DPT shot. I'm doing great, but I've not been able to work out in the yard this past week. The stitches come out this coming Tuesday and I'll be a mad woman out there potting things up and getting everything ready.

Cleburne, TX(Zone 8a)

Stephanie, sorry you had an accident but glad you're healing well.

Glenna

Waxahachie, TX(Zone 8a)

Yikes, stephanie!

Take all your anti-biotics & eat yogurt every day.

(Did you remember to bleed into the flower beds or compost pile?)

can't remember if I posted it here, but I separated some bromeliads, can bring a couple if someone has something I can use-
& remember, I can use such things as homemade peach or apricot preserves, brownies, or homemade bread!

& txmel, I think I can find a couple of cast iron plants-can you bring me sumpn good?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Glad you will mend before the RU and can make it.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 7b)

I was going to ask... does anyone need nursery pots? We have a gazillion plant pots of all sizes, from 4", 6" up to 3 and 5 gal. Even have a NICE 15 gal or larger from a tree...

sylvia... I am gardening in a new home, and dont have much of anything to share... dwf mondo grass is about all that we have excess of. What are other things that are swapped? Need any pots?

(Elizabeth) DFW Area, TX

TXMel, I can always use large containers - most of my garden is in pots and almost all the rest is in hay bales.

If I can find the time to bleach them, I will have a ton of small pots - seed-starter size.

Hard to believe that the roundup is this week! Gosh, time flies!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Hello Mel and Quilter, I can use pots of all sizes, especially quart and gallon size, so i will take all you can spare.
Josephine.

(Elizabeth) DFW Area, TX

Josephine, I think I will have some of the quart to gallon size, too - I will bring them for you. :)

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

You folks don't forget to go over to the other thread (link at top post) and sign up for ATTENDANCE FOOD item and make sure you remember your DOOR PRIZES!

It is getting very close!!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 7b)

YEAH.... that might be all I have to trade... empty nursery pots! I will gather and bring all that I can!!! Hate to toss them... GLAD to share!

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you very much.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, the door prize part of the RU is a hoot!

Carla

Cleburne, TX(Zone 8a)

How does the door prize work?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

DnP....We number the name tags and then pick up a prize and draw a number. Worked pretty well that way last year until our number blew away! LOL!! I think I have a better solution this year, but we will see.

Rancho Santa Rita, TX(Zone 8a)

Ken the osemary is cuttings

If I know you want one I will'
root it now, I already started
