Does anyone have a gallon glass pickle jar with screw on top to trade ? We have started making pickled watermelons and need more jars! Thanks, Anna
North Central Texas Fall Roundup Trade Thread.
no... but had a thought... try some BBQ restaurants. THEY use lots of pickles!!!
I believe most of the institutional sizes are now plastic. If so, just soak in baking soda for a while. That will deodorize it.
I boiled eggs the other day and thought back to when I USED to go into bars that had the huge jars of giant sour pickles, pickled eggs, pickled pigs feet, and those greasy red sausage out on the counters. It is a wonder they didn't kill someone! LOL!
I have 4 Kerr canning jars (I think they're pint-sized) -- does anyone want them?
Carla
Carla, if no one needs them I'll take em.
We are looking for some Cast Iron Plants. If you have any to divide... we can put them in full shade!
BajaBlue, are the Tuscan Blue rosemary cuttings or plants?
Phyllis, I'll bring the jars for you.
Carla
I've experienced a minor set-back, but we'll still be there!
I tried to lop off the side of one of my fingers this past Tuesday while harvesting some bell peppers. Took a little trip to CareNow and ended up with 5 stitches and a DPT shot. I'm doing great, but I've not been able to work out in the yard this past week. The stitches come out this coming Tuesday and I'll be a mad woman out there potting things up and getting everything ready.
Stephanie, sorry you had an accident but glad you're healing well.
Glenna
Yikes, stephanie!
Take all your anti-biotics & eat yogurt every day.
(Did you remember to bleed into the flower beds or compost pile?)
can't remember if I posted it here, but I separated some bromeliads, can bring a couple if someone has something I can use-
& remember, I can use such things as homemade peach or apricot preserves, brownies, or homemade bread!
& txmel, I think I can find a couple of cast iron plants-can you bring me sumpn good?
Glad you will mend before the RU and can make it.
I was going to ask... does anyone need nursery pots? We have a gazillion plant pots of all sizes, from 4", 6" up to 3 and 5 gal. Even have a NICE 15 gal or larger from a tree...
sylvia... I am gardening in a new home, and dont have much of anything to share... dwf mondo grass is about all that we have excess of. What are other things that are swapped? Need any pots?
TXMel, I can always use large containers - most of my garden is in pots and almost all the rest is in hay bales.
If I can find the time to bleach them, I will have a ton of small pots - seed-starter size.
Hard to believe that the roundup is this week! Gosh, time flies!
Hello Mel and Quilter, I can use pots of all sizes, especially quart and gallon size, so i will take all you can spare.
Josephine.
Josephine, I think I will have some of the quart to gallon size, too - I will bring them for you. :)
You folks don't forget to go over to the other thread (link at top post) and sign up for ATTENDANCE FOOD item and make sure you remember your DOOR PRIZES!
It is getting very close!!
YEAH.... that might be all I have to trade... empty nursery pots! I will gather and bring all that I can!!! Hate to toss them... GLAD to share!
Thank you very much.
Yes, the door prize part of the RU is a hoot!
Carla
How does the door prize work?
DnP....We number the name tags and then pick up a prize and draw a number. Worked pretty well that way last year until our number blew away! LOL!! I think I have a better solution this year, but we will see.
Ken the osemary is cuttings
but roots very easily,
If I know you want one I will'
root it now, I already started
one for Glenna ...
My mother plan needs a haircut
desperately but I have been
waiting to see who wants some
before I dump them on the compost.
Just LMK
Just checking the list.
Charlene, did you want the magenta beebalm?
DogsNPetunia, what kinds of salvia do you want? I have a little pink greggi and a black and blue.
QuilterGAl, do you want sun natives or just shady ones?
BB just forget it, I know it roots easy but this time of year I am just too busy, thanks anyway.
BB, I'll take Kenboy's, please.
I have found a new recipe that is great for mosquitos & I'm trying to get all the plants that go into it! Growing is cheaper than $20 for 4#!
Just making one last pass through the lists since there is only a week left... :)
cocobid, do you still have any pregnant onions available?
pbxlady, do you still have any hens and chicks left?
Dennis

phyllisb59,
Are you looking for flowering quince cuttings? If so I can bring you some. I wouldn't mind have some choc and/or lemon mint.
Kate
msgrubbyfingers, I have quince but thank you. The mint looks really bad but I'll see if I can find you some.
Howdy Josephine and others.
Please remove myself and my wife from the attendance list.
We hope to see everyone in the spring but will not be able to make it this time.
Hope everyone has a good day!
Carl
