North Central Texas Fall Roundup Trade Thread.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Sorry Sheila, I don't have a Pawpaw, I am looking for one.
Thank you for the Lyreleaf, would you like something else from my list?

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Josephine, I was wondering what the plant was that has come up in my yard. Now that I see the Am Germander, I know it's name. I'm glad you listed it so I would look it up.

May I have your 2 Calla lily trades? I put you down for salvia coccinea on the ET RU trade, but I can bring you another one in a one gallon pot and a gaillardia for the calla lilies if you'd like. LMK

Shelia, I will tag the passion vine for you.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you Charlene, I will put your name on the callas and thank you for the salvia and gaillardia.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Quiltergal, since I don't have any of your wants, Ken is offering some shade plants for my requests and I will bring you some Miracle Grow if you would like to have some. Do you prefer crystals or liquid?

Charlene

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

I did find a couple of baby Coneflowers, Josephine, so I'll bring them for you. I don't want anything for them. You're doing me a favor by taking them. :-)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

O.K. Carla, I will give you big hug then.
Josephine.

Quoting:
Sheila_FW: May I get a Lemon-scented bee balm from you? Also do you know the name?

You sure can. It's Melissa Officinalis. Almost all of the ones that I started from seed have suddenly died, but I ordered a plant for you and it should be here shortly. If any that are left survive I will bring you one of each - the ones I started from seed are from particularly gorgeous plants last grown in 1999, so I'm hoping that I can nurse these few along to maturity. The bees love the stuff and I love anything lemon-scented.

I don't know what went wrong with the seedlings - didn't look like damping off - it looked more like the full sun and higher temperatures got it. Plants in the same area with the same soil are doing well, so I think it was just too much sun all at once. I got in that "fall" frame of mind and started taking stuff out of the shadier spots a little too soon.

Thank you so much for consolidating all the posts - I think that's very helpful.

Charlene, whatever you want to trade is fine with me, but I just noticed that you might be able to root a Brandywine for me? That would be great! I keep hearing about how wonderful they are, so I'm hoping to get some seed for next year. :)

Looks like I have a Passionflower (I think it's Incarnata) seedling coming up. Who wants it? The flowers are big and purple and the Gulf Frit cats *love* this plant.

Carla

I would love to try a Passion Flower, Carla. :) Is there anything on my list which you would like to have?

Also, I updated my list to add more stuff, last night in case anyone is interested. :)

Anna may I get a four nerve daisy from you? LMK what to save for you.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Anna, can I have a batface cuphea? Is there anything on my list you would like?

Dennis

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

msgrubby.....may I get a noid hosta from you? LMK what you want from my list.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes Dennis. Would love to try that chile. The batface is yours. I also have Am. Beautyberry, reg and dwarf if you are brave enough to root a cutting...... I am trying to layer it, so maybe I will have one next year.

Yes Sheila, I have a four nerve for you. Would like to trade for the yellow sedum. Will also bring you a coneflower seedhead.

Quilter Gal, strawberry geranium, oxalis, columbine, spiderwort, frogfruit, Katie ruellia are all shade loving. If you aren't interested in those, I will scrounge some more! (Have alot of dry shade)
Check my trade list, has the plant file links to most of these plants.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Anna, I'll try to root some chile cuttings, and if they don't work out then I can bring you a whole bunch of peppers for seed (or eating, if you like hot!) :)

Dennis

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Banana, May I have the fairy rose? I have some bee balm if you would like it.

Charlene

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Chiles would be fine. My husband loves hot food.He can eat the chile. He just bought Total Insanity Hot Sauce and added it to all the other sauces in the fridge. Don't worry about rooting and I will plant some of those seeds next year.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Fairy rose is yours. If the beebalm is other than magenta, I would be interested.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

http://www.easywildflowers.com/quality/mon.cit.htm
This is the bee balm.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Anna, if you still have columbine and coneflower
I can trade you for a Texas betony and a pigeon berry.
Josephine.

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Josephine, may I please have some of your Texas betony? I am dying to see the difference in it and the stachys coccinea.

Charlene

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

Magenta bee balm looks like something I would like. I looked it up after banana's statement that she would like any kind but the magenta. Well, if anyone has any of it, I would like to give it a home.

Charlene

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Charlene, Texas Betony coming up for you, but I am sorry this is my last of it to share.
I think I did a really good job of confusing you on this one, so we will be able to compare it with the Salvia coccinea.
Josephine.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

I guess I am confused too. Is Lady in Red salvia the same as Texas Betony?
Frostweed, do you want native or a smaller version of coneflower? Have the columbine yellow if you want, will have to check if the red one is around. Sorry, no vocabulary this am..but they are both native.

Charlene, I have magenta beebalm, but mine looks different than yours. The flower head is flatter and rounder. Can dig one up for you.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Anna....the yellow sedum is yours, thanks for the coneflower seedhead and four nerve.

Dallas, TX

Shelia - Hi, yes I'll put you down for Hosta. Could I have some of your plant tags?

Thank you.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Anna, Lady in red, or Scarlet Sage is the Salvia coccinea
http://wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=SACO5
Texas betony is Stachys coccinea
http://wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=STCO
They are very similar but not the same for sure.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I would really like to have the native coneflowers and the columbines, what can I bring for you?
Josephine.

Cleburne, TX(Zone 8a)

I have updated my trade list. If anything about any trade is incorrect, please let me know by Dmail.

Msgrubby....got you down for plant tags.

D & P, Glenna....May I have some of the great Lhama manure for a Rudbeckia and coneflower?

Everyone....I have gotten the Lhama manure from her before and it is great stuff!
