Morning Ladies,
Still no word from BJ. So I'm thinking of starting the 3-B House swap. Will be outside most of today as our temps are going back up to the triple digits again come Tuesday :(
What perfect timing too (not), as Mom has to have orthoscopic surgery Tuesday, on her knee. So I must get some Iris' transplanted and other things done in the next three days as I will be playing "Nurse", lol.
Hope everyone has a great weeked ^_^
Cindy }!{
Good morning!
Isn't that a beautiful picture of a primrose? Thanks Juanita. Mine have all died.. too hot here, no more chilly mornings.
In some countries, lightning rods are still a must on all buildings. A much preferable conductive path for lightnings instead of houses.
Wonder if there's a DIY lightning rod? Did you have yours professionally installed?
Coffee's on. Simple breakfast of Bagels and cream cheese.
Got some news this morning. Ex was flown home from Houston, back to Lafayette, Louisiana. Ain't that nice of the V.A to do that?
His older sister and nephew are taking care of him and they admitted they didn't realize how stubborn that man can be!! He's still not out of the woods yet. Please continue to pray for him that his body don't reject the donor organ.
Another good news is, Kel doesn't have to bring his dad to the cancer center this morning. Guess Lord knows Kel needs the rest...
Donna, now you have all the room you want for Tristen's much awaited fashion show.
Everyone, have a good Saturday!
Cindy, put my name on your list please.
I'll try to get hold of her again. She mustn't be checking her cell phone messages.
Bummer! Triple digits stay away from me!!
Will be praying for a successful knee surgery for your mum.
Thanks Jaye. I was really surprised to see the primrose the other morning. Usually I have them in the Spring and that is that. They do seem to be finally spreading out some. Take care of Kel. I know what he is going through.
Our house came with the lightining rods. i'm betting it would be hard to get them these days depending where you are.
Cindy, please stay cool!! I remember a few years ago when we had temps over 100 for a while. It was so bad they made us stop working at noon time when i worked for the golf course.
I've opened the 3 B-House Swap

Hi everyone!!! have a great day.
Jaye, yes I am here and I did read the message. I ended up babysitting yesterday (good thing as it would have been our 49th anniversary) and today so I am a little tired at the moment. Read about the passing of the DG member and I am of mixed opinions. Yes, it is one of the hardest things you can/will face - the lose of a spouse who is your world and yes, it can/would be so very easy to give up--I almost did!!! Then there comes the day you wake up and see the sun and realize you have been left here for a purpose--may take awhile to find out why but it does come. I now think mine was to assist my son and DIL with the keeping of the girls so they would have the experience of one grandmother. I did go into a zombie state for about 6-9 months before I saw the sun again but think that was God's way of healing the hurt. Only my opinion, others are more than welcome to theirs--each his own thoughts.
I have one more week and then they are back in school and I can return to my semi-normal activities. I read when I can but rest assured I miss every one of you!!!!
Yep, unfortunately for those of us that have lost our spouse's life still goes on. I too almost gave up, but then I remembered that I still had a loving family that needed me and alot of good friends, too. My husband's death brought me back in touch with two of my best friends that I had lost touch with. One of them I had not spoken to in 25 years, the other was at least 7 years.
Hello Cody, don't stay out too long in the sun. It's about to kill me just watering a few pots at noon. 5 hours later, the pots done dried out :(
Maid M and Cindy, you both are strong women and have a lot of faith.. I can tell.
You both know that your universe include others that love you.
My mother was like that. When my father died, we thought it would kill her. But she picked herself up after a few months and raised my younger siblings who were 12, 11 and 10 at that time.
When she was diagnosed with cancer, years later, she told her sister that her work on earth is done and ready to join my father, since all the girls are finally married.
God brought her home one month later.
Jaye, that is why they say water in the morning and in the evening.Don't water during the hottest part of the day because they do dry out by the evening.
I woke up late this morning Cody. Kel lets me sleep in.
Normally I'm out there before daybreak with the hose. But, today, by the time I had my second cup of coffee and dabble on the pc.... it's noon!!!!! Lololol!!
Ahhhh, one day, he'll set up an automated sprinkler system for me!
Then on some days, I still have to water twice!
Ain't gardening fun?

LOL!!!!I know what you mean.....
Cody, I actually need to ask Kel to lay out some soaker hoses for the ones in the ground.. do you think he has time? Lolol!!
Speaking of soaker hoses.......My mom got a little wild with the weedeater and chopped one in half "sigh" Now I've got to figure out a way to fix it. Dang it!!! I'm going to take her "toys" away from her SOON!!! LOL
Ductape, girl! It fixes everything!
LOL, Audrey. I can't stand that stuff!!! My mom loves it. GAWD she even taped a 3 lb butter tub because it was cracking. Geez she's got thousands in the junk cupboard, lol.
Audrey, my ex' late BIL used to carry around duct tape. Serious.. he'd say you'd never know when you'd need it!!
hehehehehe just think duct tape could be used to tape kids in their seats on the bus then on their mouth to keep them quite when they get too loud or rude....JUST JOKING THERE.......then if you do a search on it you will find it comes in a number of different colors and you can make clothes out of it ...hahahaha
I swear I was always going to carry it to tape DH's mouth shut. Always talking, never listens. Just found some in blue, now that would look nicer than the silver.
Pegi, make sure the tape matches his eyes!! ROFL!!
Think I saw a dress like that on Project Runway, Phyllis. Duct taped all over. Sad part was not one of the judges was laughing :D
Here ya go check this out ...some very talented people
http://www.ducktapeclub.com/contests/prom/entries.asp
Phyllis, thank you!! Those kids are certainly very creative!!!
Trisha, I hope your neighbour is not in any serious condition.
Me too practically know all the EMS personnel that worked the past 7 years.. due to Kel's brother and now his dad.
Gonna do some 'church' homework.. then hit bed. So, I'll wish you all a good night.
Haven't heard anything from the neighbors, but he did bring her back home about eleven last night so it must not have been anything too serious....
They started Doris's Estate Sale today....just a steady stream of cars and people all over the neighborhood. One more day of it then maybe we can get the neighborhood back to normal.....
We are friends with one couple at church who always sit directly in back of us...Bob is in his late 80's and is beginning to suffer from Alzheimer's...he fell on Monday night and hit his head, got a subdural hematoma (sp)...they had to take him into surgery on Tuesday and remove a 4" circle on back of his skull to relieve the pressure and deal with the bleeding. It has been a very long week for Frieda....she has heart problems and I know this stress in not good for her.....she is a retired Military Nurse from the Korean War. Bob is doing well, he is being moved to rehab tomorrow, he is just unable to speak right now...
Both of my kids are going through some really difficult times times right now, a combination of health and financial issues, and I am not sure how much we are going be able to help this month. Please keep them in your prayers. (Sean/Laura and Shawn/Lisa)
My sister called tonight...her back is better, at least enough that she can go back to work, Conner is doing much better and has not had siezures since they changed his medications, and her youngest son Mark who starts college on Monday finally got a job, which also starts on Monday...so things are looking up there at least...
Now we are down in 50's and 60's and you guys are getting the HOT weather....would be so nice if the temperatures would just moderate a bit all around....
Think I am going to finish the baseball game and call it a night..two more innings to go....
Everyone is in my heart and prayers, have a wonderful Sunday.
Have a great Sunday.
LOL Ductape! Love it, thanks for the link!
Cindy, Dave gets out there with the weedeater and weedeats between the plants, now you know what kind of tragedy occurs from that. He has an industrial gas weedeater. The other day he pulled up the only hibiscus I had on the fence growing from seed, with all the rain it looked really really good, now it's gone because he can't stop for two seconds and realize there's a sign in front of it. So far in a month he's taken out my only blue hosta, about 10 different plants, and my next door neighbors elephant ears, one of those was a black one. They're growing back but he says he doesn't see this stuff, one of those ears was almost as tall as he is and he didn't see it?? He didn't see my hibiscus that was taller than anything except for the cannas? I have a hard time believing. And yes, he's constantly talking over and around everyone, he knows everything, just ask him. Love him to death but good grief!
Crissy,HINT HINT....he is trying to tell you NO plants in the yard.LOL!!!!
Don't let my DH in the yard with any kind of tools.....!!! Do all of that myself or hire it done...he doesn't know an Iris from Quack grass!!!
Trisha....ROFL......
Man Crissy, if that were me I'd probably beat him silly with that weed eater, then stick where sun don't shine, lol. When my dad was alive her would "prune" the rose bushes, lol. Well he did this one bush so well it never grew bak. Mom told him off big time. So after that, dad did the housework and mom did the yard work.
Hello everyone
So sorry I went Mia .. lol We actually went to a Bennet Family cookout and then camped out overnight so we just got home. Tristens fashion show is comming but first we have to set the tents back up to air out and I need a nap.. The adults were all up until about 4 am last night and we were back up at 7 this morning while everyone else was snoring away.. So we cleaned up around the house and barn before we left and showed a cousin of mine the easy way to get into town on the way home. Now Im ready for a nap.. lol The kids are about half asleep on te hcouch with a movie and I think Im ready to fall out for a bit.
This week is hectic as my boss is going out of town so Im working from 7 am ill 530 all week. 1 hour earlier than usual isnt bad but the last thing I need to do is go on no sleep.. lol
Will check back in later,,
Huggs'
Morning everyone. Back home and rested. Toe nail is gone, he just yanked it out after he shot the toe full of novacaine. Those shots hurt!!! I need to soak it in epsom salt water 2 times a day, and keep it wrapped with neosporin for a bit, but he said it should grow back in!
Trisha, sending prayers your way! Some ((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) too!
Later
LK
Geez LK,
You have way too many things happening to you. Hope your toe heals FAST. Take it easy, Sistah!!!!
Thank you for the pretties Trisha, starts the day out good. I was up early and went out to enjoy the cool morning before the sun came out. Sat in my swing with my cup of coffee and book. Cleaned up a lot of pine needles that fall faster than I can pick them up, sun came out and back started hurting so it must be time for the computer.
LK, my DH had ALL his toenails yanked out, but they grew back in deformed again and feet problems continued. Later on dr. yanked them out again, this time putting some kind of acid on roots hoping they wouldn't grow back. Well, they did grow back, nothing kills those roots. He always had trouble with deformed toenails thus always having feet that hurt. His problem was caused by psoraisis which he has had since he was about 18. Follow dr. orders and everything will be fine.
LOL, We have a Lawn Care, Landscaping, Handyman Business. He knows the difference between a plant and a weed, just stuck on stupid. What really got me is when he weedeated the next door neighbors elephant ears, those aren't even on our property, I did chew him out royally for that. It's bad enough he's doing this to my stuff, Don't do it next door then laugh about it.
Pegi, Dave hurt his back, do you think he can sit down? No, he mowed half the lawn and I had to finish it, he tried to cook breakfast but got on something else instead, now he's cleaning the kitchen. I would be more than happy to do it but he thinks it needs to be done the very second it's messed up and there's no room for both of us cleaning. Then he'll nag at me later for not doing it.
I'm waiting for the nascar race to start, seems it's taking forever, but it usually does. Oh well.
We're supposed to get a cold front and storms this afternoon, they were supposed to start at 10am and nothing in the state yet. Better not hold my breath, I don't want tornadoes.
Hello everyone!
Prayers were offered for all that need.. including your mum Crissy.
In another room, Faye has brought up about this kid that has accepted our Lord, when his appearance has caused some doubts. Then wise Crissy and her husband have shown compassion to unlikely adults.
Well... I want to share what happened to us today at church.
Talking of appearances, God has certainly humbled us.
There was this church lady, in her late 20's who's like the pastor's 'chorus'... you know the ones that's quick to Amen and Hallelujah? We are relatively new to this church (1 year) and during this time, we haven't seen her until the past 2 weeks.
Her speech is impaired and her movements awkward. Kel and I thought that she has cerebral palsy. Our hearts are touched by her deep faith in God.
Well, today, with the help of the preacher, she stood right in the middle and gave her testimony. It was so touching.. telling us all to have faith in Him and thanking Him for giving up Himself for us that don't deserve it.
I'm ashamed to say that my church sister told me that this young lady wasn't born that way. Her ex husband had beaten her up so bad that it caused damage to her brains and her motor skill. Since then, she has been staying in an adult care facility, and just lately wanted to return to church.. cause before she was embarrassed on what she has become.
Ok.. I'm getting teary again..
Donna!!! Hurry with the fashion show!!
Toenails.. urgh.. hate my feet!! Pegi and LK, at BJ's reunion, I'm the only one with feet covered all the time. Worked in a dye/bleach house for too long, and the chemicals messed up my toes. No.. I didn't have them pulled out. Doctors suggested that, but they're not ingrown, just deformed.
Yes, He has humbled us, I know I used to stereotype pretty bad, and still do, but you can't ever judge a book by it's cover.
Jaye you should never be ashamed or afraid to show who you are or what you look like. If other people don't like it, they don't have to look at it! I went through a faze of not wearing shorts because I am very white skinned and was becoming fatter than I used to be. Well, I'm still fatter than I used to be, and still white skinned, and you can't live in the South without wearing shorts, so fooey on them.
I have toenail fungus and I've found that nail polish gets rid of it, so I use that reason to get pedicures all summer :)
Ok, I've been sitting too long and my butt feels flat. See ya'll after while!
Good afternoon all.....we had a short spell of sunshine this afternoon...it is supposed to rain off and on for the next few days....I sure hope they are right!!! We need rain sooo badly!!
Jaye, a sad but wonderful story...so glad this Lady has returned to the church and that the Lord will help her realize that beauty is not on the outside...
Well I went over to Doris' Estate Sale today...I needed a few items...I have a little something from special neighbors we have lost over the past few years.....
I got this hand crocheted table cloth that she used for her annual Christmas Party....
