Today's Weather in Your Garden - 51

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Light rain here. Hope it's not all day as we are getting ready for the county fair. Set up starts today.

Thomaston, CT

Ooh, sorry about the rain. Jumper----hope the fair is OK. Very cool morning--it was 50 overnight---warmimg up to 75 today---another nice day to garden.

South Hamilton, MA

How much jump equipment do you need to take Jumper? Rain vs. hot weather?

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Two sets of standards and two poles. I supposed hot is better than rain. It looks like rain today, mon and tues. They say 90 tomorrow and high 80's the rest of the week.

South Hamilton, MA

That's better than 90 all week. Our next 90 is supposed to be Monday--so weeding & planting new irises better take place this weekend.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

It's raining now, so I can't weed.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

73 and sunny. Nice day on tap.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Looks like the rain is going to last all day. Darn!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

This what I waited (impatiently) for for over two months! I love the wet look - it really draws out the colors. Also protects the stone from uv rays.

Glad your patio is finally done. Looks very nice, Victor.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thank you, Lucy.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Nice job! A tall glass of something cool and refreshing, a comfy lounge chair and sit back and admire the view. Nice!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Deb I love your 'creating a memory' idea. My motto was the same while raising my children...spotless house or happy smart children who know they are loved and accepted. My house was not spotless, it was down-right messy.^_^
You reminded me of an email my DSIL sent me and want to share it all with you.

"One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the
warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that
sometimes there isn't "anymore". No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute." Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say"I love you."

So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick. This is true for marriage ......
And old cars .. And children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and
aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because
we are worth it.

Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a sister-in-law after divorce. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.

Life is important, like people we know who are special.. And so, we keep them close!

I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'! Then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way... Now it's your turn to send
this to all those people who are "keepers" in your life, if you feel that way.

Suppose one morning you never wake up, do all your friends know you love them?

I was thinking...I could die today, tomorrow or next week, and I wondered if I
had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that needed rekindling or
three words needing to be said.

Let every one of your friends know you love them. Even if you think they
don't love you back, you would be amazed at what those three little words
and a smile can do. And just in case I'm gone tomorrow.

I LOVE YA!!!"

I don't clean my kids either. ^_^

Nice thoughts, Celeste!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Jumper, hope the fair goes well
Nice patio, Victor
That was beautiful Celeste.

Getting cloudy right now. Gorgeous 'window open' night. 78 50% chance of rain

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Jen. Yes - it was a gorgeous night. We're going to the Renegades game tonight so I hope the storms hold off.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I'm thinking good thoughts for your game, Victor.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Looks good, Victor.

Very lovely sentiment, Celeste. I also love my DG family. That brought tears to my eyes, cuz sometimes I don't make memories with mom. Sometimes I feel used up and get into a rut and just lurk here. Even though it's a waiting game with her, I could turn it into a game of sorts.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Beautiful, Celeste. Thank you...and right back at ya!

Victor - your sealed patio was worth the wait!! Very nice!!

Jan - hope DH had a nice birthday!!!

Thomaston, CT

Yes, Jan---being a caretaker is very tough! Victor, really nice patio---I'm jealous! Pixie, thanks for sharing that----it was brought home to me 2 years ago, when a friend called & told me if I wanted to see another best friend to get down to the hospital---I saw him, kissed him, told him I would see him at home the next day since his wife was taking him home---he never made it----a 50 year friendship gone.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks!

Had a nice time at the game. Was my wife's first time there. Always fun.

Great shot Victor! Nice deck too.

You're right Celeste, thanks for sharing.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

nice shot Victor!!

it's raining now... 65 going up to 83... and thunderstorms today.. going to have to close the windows soon I think

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Partly to mostly cloudy. Temp in the 70s and a chance of rain. Increasing chance of t-storms this evening and tonight. As strange as it may sound with all the wet weather this season, we can actually use a good shower here now.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Rain ended late yesterday. It's now 80 and humid.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

72 and overcast. Had light rain earlier. Grossly humid.

Genuine dog day tomorrow. 90's and humid. Yuck!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Yep, I've already shut up the house to keep it drier. AC kicks on periodically. The humidity is awful. It really affects Mom's breathing.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Still cool here, but it's darkening up to rain soon. Tomorrow is supposed to get to above 92 here. The weather man said this morning that it will be the warmest day in over 2 years! We got all the grass seed, fertilizer & hay down, so it can start raining any time now!!! Gosh it looks so pretty outside right now. The moss is so "Irish green"!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Rained all night and, yes, disgustingly thick out there, looks like it's going to storm

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Beautiful day here, 73 with a breeze.

Thomaston, CT

Very overcast all day---light shower this morn----supposed to get T-storms for the next 3 days---ugh! On a happier note, I got a call this morning telling me I had won 2nd prize in our fireman's raffle---$300.00---on a more ironic note, I bought $5.00 worth of tickets at the tire store (owned by one of our volunteer firemen) after I spent almost $600.00 on new tires! So, the money is already gone!

what is it? I captured a pic a couple of hours ago.

oooooh, pretty! Indigo Bunting?? That's a good luck bird, Sherrie. Yay!!! So good to see you posting again!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very pretty, Sherrie. Love that color.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Very pretty bird!
WOOHHOOOOO!!! Sherrie's here. We all missed you.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Beautiful Sherrie! I haven't seen one in a long time.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

nice Sherrie!! ... 69 now going up to 92... possible thunderstorms all day.. the weatherman described this day as a brutal one with the humidity ... oh joy

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

These two don't normally get close to each other if they can help it. Yesterday was so hot the were catching the same breeze under the ceiling fan. Today 85 and humid.

Great shot of a beautiful bird Sherrie.
J2, the cats' body language says it all. LOL They are very pretty kitties.
We had a little shower over night, not much rain amount but it brought back the humidity and heat. Mostly to partly cloudy, HHH and the usual chance of t-storms that goes with it. Should be in the 90s with heat index of 101.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

nice bridie sherrie - i think indigo bunting is correct - will look it up later as i need to look up a vivid red brid i saw here last week that i have never seen before - not as lucky as you were with the camera.

HHH here
