For the love of amphibians!

How can so much cuteness fit into one itty bitty frog? :D

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

He is too cute for words!!

These two little guys were enjoying a bit of sun today.

Oh they are adorable. And how you keep your lettuce and hyacinth looking so good I never know!

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

I think it has to do with the fish & frog poop as fertilizer. Lots of fish & frogs=.Lots of healthy plants! LOL!

Here is my "got milk" Frog.

BeaHive -- your "got milk" frog is so darn cute and pudgy ... almost like a newborn baby when they are all fat with their little rolls and such!

jij..your right that one has some "baby fat"! LOL

This would be the "grotto" if It were at the Playboy mansion.

This fella (smaller than Bud; bigger than the bopsy twins) showed up about a week and a half ago. Been too sick to upload pictures. I think I have a few to share.

Jij. he is a nice one. Hope your feeling better soon.

Just took this one a few minutes ago. The big one was on the banks when he spotted me and jumped in.
This is how he ended up when he surfaced. Too cute! Hello!

Thanks; just another spot of pneumonia, but I'm over the worst of it now, I think. Your frogs are lovely as well, as they always are. You have the most photogenic amphibians. Mine aren't too social with eachother except the bopsy twins who generally stick close to eachother.

Today's visitor:

He is darling!

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Eeeeeeeee! I'm so excited! When I was out watering just a few minutes ago, a wee tree frog hopped out of one of the containers I was watering! I grabbed my camera and only got one shot before he took off.

Then, I was over watering the big flowerbed, and another one was hippity hopping around in there! Didn't have the camera for that one.

So now I know I still have at least 2 tree frogs, even if my pond frogs are all gone. :)

I want tree frogs! :jumpingup&downtantrumstyle: My bull frogs are not vocal, but I hear tree frogs are. I want to hear 'em outside at night making some noise!

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

LOL I haven't heard a peep out of these guys yet, but I think it's mostly in spring when they make a racket.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Pony glad to see you have frogs again. Bull frogs and Tree frogs are not a good mix. Bulls love to eat the tiny tree frogs. Sad but true.

(Pony) Lakewood, WA(Zone 8a)

Yep- that's why I'm glad there are no bullfrogs here. (at least not yet) They're cool-looking, but not good for the natives. :(

Raleigh, NC(Zone 8a)

Oh in that case, I don't want the tree frogs then. I'd hate to think they'd come here for a nice place to call home, only to succumb to that sort of fate when Bud and his posse show up one night.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

Is this the cutest thing you ever did see? Making a new friend.

Saving the best for last !! Edward Scissorhands

Great shots, Beahive! Love Edward Scissorhands! LOL I'm guessing that's a black magic/runner EE you have growing, judging by the shoots it sending out.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

jij..it is Black Taro ..it does look very similar to the black EE

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

b- how many froggies do you think you have?

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

I think a dozen or so. Its hard to say for sure. I just hope some stick around this winter.

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

:-D Me too.

I could have sworn I heard a little frog at the pond the other night. I hunted and hunted with the flashlight, but couldn't find anything.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

They are great at hiding or just blending in. If you heard one..he is out there somewhere. Hearing them is a good sign. :)

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

well, just not sure… i would go on one side of a clump of grass and it would seem like it was to the left, then when I got over to the left, it would sound like it was on the right. Sigh.

BeaHive - You're pictures are just great - as for Jimmy (Durante), I think you might have to see about braces, he seems to have a slight overbite. Edward Scissorhands is just a hoot, great shot!

Are you familar with CuteOverload.com? It's my all time favorite website and all animal lovers should check it out if you're not. You really should submit Edward and maybe a couple of others to their website - I'm sure they'd probably show them. CO publishes 3 or 4 pics a day of the most adorable animals (all sorts) on the planet and I think some of yours qualify.

Richmond, VA(Zone 7a)

I am SO jealous! I can't close to my pond without all of the frogs leaping into the water. I've started sneaking up on them and have actually been able to see a couple before they freak out. I think I have 4 or 5. Where do these guys go in the winter> My pond is just a lined one so no "mud" around to dig into.
