Best/Worse & What did I learn today?visit with friends #117

Sharran - just beautiful the photos! You all look so relaxed and having a good time.....

Losing the power almost seemed fun ! Like a slumber party!

Betty - Gosh - It seems unreal...work is still wonderful! I did get a chance to have lunch today with 7 ladies...some who are still at the "old job"....some who have left the "old job"........

it was a blast...but went by so quickly...and I feel SO bad for the girls that are still there !

I have a Good day planned for tomorrow...

DS17 came back from his visit with 22yr old half brother. School starts day after tomorrow...can't believe the summer is over...

My son's last year...a Senior....this will be tough!

Good - meeting with old friends today for lunch

Bad - wish I could find new jobs for those still left there

Learned - some ex-employees are considering sueing the company...apparently many things they were doing are crooked.....I knew that...but hadn't considered legal repercussions....

Finally getting some cool cloudy weather here, but doesn't sound like we will get enough rain out of it to even get the dirt wet...:(

Laura gets home today!!! She has been dog/house sitting.....Son in law has been down with severe back problems and may need to have surgery...we have had Sage for three days...so happy she is a good kid....but still not used to having a little one underfoot for extended periods...and I think she is happy to be going home today....like me she likes to have her own things and her own bed....

Finally got my car back yesterday!!! One of the first things I may do is go look at new cars....this one, while we love it, can't be counted on to not have other things start going wrong with it....would like to talk DH into a truck...don't know how much luck I will have with that one! What I would really love is a VW Camper!

GRRRR.....was using Laura's account while mine was out....see I am still popping up on her acct instead of mine need to go fix that

Think I need to start thinking about a new car (New Used car).....didn't get the problem fixed, it quit on me again today:( At least the repair shop paid the tow bill. Will see what happens...but it sucks being without a car....

Traveler # 1 is back home...safe and somewhat sound...sanity in question!

We were ahead of schedule, what a time we had....and so many stores to tell!

We had an escort out of Chicago by Steve (Judys DH) and police officer (picture to come soon) .

My hubby and Shannon picked me up in NF at the Christmas Tree shop so Betty could shop a bit. I unfortunately took her a bit out of the way...but she was running in to get quilt for her mother....and then hit the border before 2:00 hopefully.

I wish I could tell you a favorite memory of the trip....but I can't. They were all great.

I won't soon forget Crissy and the driving experience....and we all laughed so much. The ribs were awesome!

Sharons was so much fun, and I enjoyed sitting up and chatting late into the night. I felt I have known her forever, and to snuggle with her kitties was so good therapy for me also.

Bev, you and Scotty....you made us feel so welcome. And Scotty, you made me laugh so much!

Now Bev, we loved your place so much....we drove the exact way out you told us....and got on the Freeway....and driving along I say to Betty "Oh look, there is Girard and Farmville again!" I kid you knot! We went the wrong way....and wound up back at your general area.....so pretty we decided to travel and see it again!

Now this was the end of the corn field day.....what you don't know about the corn fields? Ohhhh, just wait til I tell you! DO NOT get your Kicks on Rt. 66....cauze they will lead you astray.....You will have to wait for pictures for that one!

And Judy & Liz, ohhhh more side splitting laughs! Loved Kenny & Steve, they seemed like mischievious brothers by the time we left. Great food also. And I got to play with Skittles! Sat on my finger and was soooo sweet.

OK, I am getting evil eyes....gotta get to work. "Mom, your vacation is over, back to reality!" Haha.

Now Debbie, I saw you go the wrong way. Jumped in my truck and went up and down all streets in this big town and couldn't find you. I knew if you kept going east you would hit I55 but was worried until now. I did send a message to Judy and to Sharron but never heard back. Glad all went well. Too short a visit but was great. Please don't post any pics of me and scare everyone!!! LOVE BEV

Hello everyone, just got in. what a terrible ride home..wasn't at the Christmas Tree store more than 15 minutes...sat at the border 1 hr. 10 minutes..no problems just volume..

Then, when I crossed it took 2 1/2 hrs. to get to Toronto because of bumper to bumper traffic..decided to take all the back roads..safer that way...

OMG, thrilled at driving in the yard and seeing such beauty..got to share...

Missy missed me, 2 little moles sitting at front door, yuk/yuk

Going to go back and read posts, see that some have shared photo's and stories...Debbie, tattle tale..lol..

Bev, oh oh, yup, we zigged when we should have zagged...so enjoyed my time with you..would have spent days if I could..love Scotty..give him a big smooch

Betty that's too bad about your drive after you got through the border, my goodness. I'm glad you're home safe and sound though! I can't believe you were here just last Monday! My Goodness!

Time flies doesn't it Crissy...after all that humidity, it's rather cool/fresh here..going to have a bath and call it an early night..

Cathy's mother just dropped in for 15 minutes, nice visit, she's a lovely lady..came to let Sailor out if I wasn't home...
Entire family is nice..told me I had a call that a friend of mine passed away..will call tomorrow to see what arrangements have been made..

Bev, walking through my gardens I'm looking where I can incorporate some of your ideas...your gardens sure were spectacular..I've photo's that I hope to share if that's ok with you..

I didn't take many photo's because Debbie had a great zoom camera, I was the driver and she was the photographer..she'll get a disc of the photo's to me..

Called Greg, he and the family just got back from Tobermorey, said they had a fantastic time..

Debbie, Greg asked how we enjoyed eating at the picnic table he put in my trunk, lol, told him it never saw the light of day...
