Morning everyone!
Tubby thanks for the smile today! Did you get any sleep at all?

Betty, sounds like you all are having such a grand time! Can't wait to start reading, and seeing pictures.

You keep this up, and you can start writing a book. "The adventures of Betty"

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning all...

Tubby, again I start my morning with a smile..

Petralittledog, a welcome to you...new friends are always welcome..the nicest of people frequent this thread so you'll be right at home...

Was quite late last night when I went to bed, snuggled under one of the many quilts Shar has, slept like a baby..Debbie and Shar stayed up, goodness knows what time they went to bed...this morning I'm up and at it as always, and those sleeping beauties are getting their rest.

Some sightseeing today then off towards St.Louis tomorrow..on schedule, can see it's nice to have a plan and stick with it..could have easily got waylaid..

Guess everything is good at home, can't thank Cathy enough for coming into my home and looking after the animals like she does...bought her several gifts..do hope she'll enjoy them..

Liz/Judy I've been at Cracker Barrel each day and sometimes twice..you just have to know I have some of their country items in my vehicle

Could have filled my vehicle with treasure from Ole Time Pottery .. but I was good, it was Cindy who left with bags...

Linda Kay how are you feeling, is the brace working for you...

Trisha/Laura how are you both dealing with this heat?

Judy/Liz, can't imagine how much mischief you are getting into .. have watched the weather, is it rain/rain/rain?

Well I'd better make myself presentable
Will check in tonight...

Pacifica, CA

ummm as for crissy.... dont worry crissy i got your back on driving roflol
well got to get ready have a wonderful day yap later

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh thank you Liz, you're in the Bay Area so you completely understand, if you don't drive that way you get either ran over or you sit in traffic for hours.
Liz I'm so glad you're having a good time and enjoying good food! Nothing better than good food!

Betty I'm glad you're not driving up to the Chicago area today, it's storming like a mad dog across St. Louis and right across the middle of Illinois. You know how I worry about the uncontrollable, keep an eye on the weather channel and find a local station while driving so you can know of any alerts that might be out there, especially if you see a big black cloud.

I did leave with bags from Old Time Pottery, what a neat neat store! I'm going to look online to see if and where there are more stores.

Got to get to work, see ya later!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Well I think I'm going back to Memphis, this day is already ticking me off, I have no patience and don't like playing the waiting game for something that's on a time schedule. I can't even get ahold to my shirt gal. Eye yey yey

OMG LMBO Big time!! One of our staff attorneys just came out of his office with his slacks rolled up above his ankles (he does this all the time, but usually on Casual Friday.) Anyway, one of the girls sees this and say, "Are you waiting for a flood Honey???" I about died! If the Director sees this he is going to go off, that's not professional in any since of the word.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Betty, glad to hear you all are having a great time!
Yes the knee brace is doing pretty good! Thanks.
Enjoy the rest of your trip, and no speeding tickets! ^_^

Hi All! Finally got my subscription renewed....much prefer my own account and my set up....I do appreciate Laura letting me use hers to keep in touch.

Definitely agree Tubby, we lost my dad to Cancer in '92....

Love the picture...lol! I almost bought a parrot like that once....it would waddle up to the door and call "here Kitty, kitty"....the cat would run up to the screen and the parrot would attack the screen......next he climb into his cage, scrunch down, look up at you and say "I'm a Bad Bird !"

My mechanic had an African Grey that every time the cat walked in the room would yell "Get the D#m& Cat away from the Cage!!!" I love Parrots!

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

I have life long friend..He stuttered..he was about 21 a bunch of them went to souvenir shop..They had bird that talked..Don't remember what kind...He was trying to get it to talk & stuttering..They bird finally says "whats the matter stupid can't you talk" OMG everyone heard it..He was trying to borrow money from them all..So he could buy it & chock its life out..LOL If you didn't know about what happened..He have you rolling on the floor laughing when he would tell about it...He really wouldn't have hurt that bird even if were free...

I love that one Tubby......

Have a good night!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

We had one of those fast and hard wind/rain/thunder/lightning storms at about 5 or 6 this evening, just as we were leaving the marina, where I had taken Betty and Debby to see where we boated for the last hundred or so years.

I think it scared Betty a little bit, but Debbie and I got tons of photos...just haven't uploaded them yet. Then when we got home, no electricity. So we had peach ice cream by candlelight.

We have had a great time, even with the candlelight tonight, electricity came back on after Betty was already in bed, and Debbie wasn't asleep yet, but is now, I think. Crazy evening.

Today we hit a few stores, but it was also a good day for just visiting and enjoying company.
Tomorrow will come all too soon.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Sharran Betty Debbie I'm so glad you all had a good time..I have a mental picture of you three..LOL

The Proper 'Hugging' of a Baby

(this is priceless)

instructions for properly hugging a baby:

1. First, uh, find a baby

#2
2. Second, be sure that the object you found was

Indeed a baby by employing classic sniffing techniques.

3. Next you will need to flatten the baby before actually beginning the

Hugging process.

4. The 'paw slide'

Simply slide paws around baby and prepare for possible close-up.

#5 last one I got a laugh out of this gentle giant..LOL

5. Finally, if a camera is present, you will need to execute
The difficult and patented 'hug, smile, and lean' so as to

Achieve the best photo quality.

How adorable... How are you doing today, Tubby? Norm is home this morning making quilt ladders for a couple of my friends. Keeps him busy!!! Hope everyone has a great day and you travelers - stay safe.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tubby, you are just too cute...did the Dr's give you an update?
Trisha, omg, how did you do without your subscription...glad you are back online

Everyone is sleeping, it will soon be time to wake Debbie so we can get a move on...once I'm ready think I'll go lift pots of flowers and pick up some of the storm debris..nope..wasn't frightened...I didn't have my camera so no need to get out in the storm..did that once when tornado hit our area..omg killed many in Barrie so won't attempt to do same anymore..what I remember most was living about 10 feet off the water watching it pass through and seeing water virtually lift, we lost about 5 of our largest pines along the waterway..

Checked St.Louis, weather is fine...highlight of my day will be meeting Bev and Scotty this aft.

Mary, how's things going at work...settling in?

Time I get moving
enjoy your day

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb, quilt ladders? can he share the measurements..

Shar took us to the most fantastic fabric shop..ended up with a paper piecing pattern called Indian Summer and also thrilled at the yardage I picked up for my Christmas Apron swap..going to get at it soon and get it out of the way..time has a habit of moving too fast..before you know it I'll have my name...

Think I can hear a bit of rumbling outside, better get on the road...

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Betty, right now he is making samples. One has narrow boards for rungs and one has closet pole dowels. I get to try them out and get the rejects too!!!! As soon as he has dimensions etc I'll let you know. I'll try to get a picture of one he made for me two years ago. It was his first attempt. Now he has time and energy to try more.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

NO update..Knock on wood My legs seem to be get stronger (Little)

Have safe drive..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty I'm glad you didn't leave Shar's yesterday, would have been a rough drive for you. Looks like it's all South of where you're driving.

My goodness those poor people, they're saying that's a 500 year flood. Arkansas got slammed at 4:30 this morning, my phone dinged that I got a text, only a weather alert would send a text at that time, but the storm radio didn't go off so I thought it was just a heat advisory and started to stay in bed, but every 15 minutes it'll ding so I got up to clear the text so it wouldn't keep me awake. Read it and it was a Tornado Warning in Little Rock!! I turned on the TV to see exactly where it was at and where it was headed and if I needed to get dressed to get ready to head to the storm shelter, it was the far East side of Pulaski County (the county that Little Rock is in, but Little Rock is in the dead center of the county) and East and South of that, the storm was headed Due South, good, not good it's happening but good it's not going to hit me. I stayed up to watch it for a little while to make sure it wasn't turning my direction, when it got South of the house, about 30 minutes later) I went back to sleep. Got to work this morning and forgot my thumb drive to post pictures, my cherries, and my cheese I wanted to bring to work ggrrrr

Sharon I'm glad your power came back on. Two of our girls here at work didn't have power this morning (I didn't think it got that bad in Little Rock proper) and another one's daughter lives in Cabot, her friends house was hit by one of the tornadoes last night at 4:00am. I don't know how many tornadoes actually came down, but they had the rotation showing on Doppler last night and there were 5 to 7 circles spinning.

Tubby I'm knocking as hard as I can knock on this wood desk here... That is way too cute!

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Here are some photos ..... the ladies left about an hour ago, and I think their way is clear of storms. Nice here today. Betty picked up a few limbs from the front and a couple of pots that were bigger than she was.
Nice to have help, now I'll tackle the back yard.

At the lake, just before the storm.

And another, this is the overlook at Kentucky Dam, they are looking over KY Lake, which springs from the Tennessee River. Looking toward Knoxville actually...though the river does wind a bit before it gets there.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Same place....

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Then we went on to the marina, less than a mile away, just for a drive through. When we left it and got back on this same road to go over the dam about 10 or 15 minutes later, this is what we saw at the same location, but looking in the opposite direction.

Thumbnail by Sharran
Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

By the time we got home, about 3 miles later, no electricity for the next 6 or so hours.

And so we had ice cream and told tall tales.

And then the departure...

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Betty and Debbie, it was a lovely visit. Thank you so much for including me in your itinerary.
And Betty, I do love the little memory book you made for me. I'll share pictures of all the lovely gifts when I fill the little book up, and when I get the angel in her place in a pot, and when I have a place setting worthy of the napkins.

Debbie, I am looking forward to your pictures, I think. Oh, Deb.....I love our matching Eyeore jammies!!!! I do like my pink ones best, though .... ;^)

Thank you both for brightening my summer.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I got a memory book too Shar! I'm glad they stayed the night with you, they would've had a rough drive yesterday but today looks clear as a bell! Those are great pictures! When I get my head on straight I'll post the pics I have.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Wonderful pictures Sharron, even in the dark!!! They are having such a great time. I'm glad their travel time has been uneventful though.....

Glenview, IL

afternoon all its liz im too lazy to sign on my own lol

betty, looks like your travels are full of wonderful memories
guess were next on the list! :) :)
im exausted pulling weeds waiting for the guys to get home
from working, then to go back in the city for more site seeing.
weather is actually pretty decent, lol judys bird is so funny gets into lots of trouble
judys son is keeping me quite amused he is a natural commedian, sorry no spell check for me lol

come to find out my sister and nephew looking after dogs staying there every day is a new drama story
first with the house painter parking in the driveway then taping up all the windows she says he is a don johnson looking guy and then she yelled at him for leaving the ladder at the back door. i hope i have a house painted when i get back.

the next drama was the last potty call for the dogs lol she says my yard looks like halloween x 3 at night and all the noises she hates going out there and then she wanted to know what is up with the dogs turning it into a site seeing expedition.

and then the best one was the stove had a small smell of gas, well the stove and oven are probable 35 years old so she called the electric company out to find out the stove is so old they shut them down oooppps.
so now we have to get new ones omg!
at this rate maby we wont ever go back lol
well got to get some stuff done for visit so have a wonderful day yap later

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)
