Containers 2009 #2

What a koinkidink Carrie! I did a bathroom in that colour in a condo before. My currentbathroom is so teensyweensy it has be white or a person would get claustraphobic.

I see you know how to spell koinkidink, a word often misspelled.

It's an international shame that so many words are mis-spelled and mis-used or neglected. I cross things out and edit my dictionaries all the time to fix the mistakes.

Here in Boston, after the Summer That Wasn't, the public containers - on the streets, at hospitals, public plantings, colleges - are only just getting gorgeous, and they're pulling them out. On the schedule, it says Oct. 1, switch SPV and impatiens for mums and kale. Boo hoo.

Carrie,
I was watering plants on Thursday over in Cambridge. The landscape boys were there ripping out {literally!} the gorgeous plantings they had put in back in the spring. I copped several huge ageratums, dusty miller, and the total prize, two huge boston type ferns. I plan to fill in a few holes in my containers for the rest of the season.
This is my container full of 25 cent plants from the Lowe's markdown rack. It is huge. The prize there is the Gerbera daisy that came back from three scraggly leaves {as in, why did I even spend a quarter on this?}. There is also a sedum in the back and a geranium, which is about to bloom. I do attribute the growth to the use of the Colorburst flower fertilizer. That and all the rain that kept the boxes and pots watered...well, see for yourself.

nice Martha!

not bad for 25 cents.

Well, more like $1.50 cause there are six plants in there from Lowe's. The sedum was a gift from a friend.

lucky

Check out your own lowes in the spring. Much of the stuff is just plants that have ceased to bloom. The plant itself was healthy but the original flowers had faded.
