Laura, you all need to be carefull, and make sure you drink plenty of fluids, so you don't get hydrated!
Guess I need to call my Brother in Bremerton, and check on them!

Better to sweat in this weather than to not be sweating, learned that the hard way. I'm drinking a cola right now, but I had two cups of ice tea before that and some water. I need the caffeine. I drank over a pitcher of iced tea.
I just got back in from soaking my head and putting my feet in the pool.

Happy Birthday Jaye! I have been thinking about this the last couple of days and then "poof" the mind went blank.
Yes, 54 is a nice age to be, I think I remember being that young. You are just one special lady.

I am late with the wishes but still I have been thinking about you all day Jaye. I hope you got your steak just the way you wanted it and that today was a very blessed special day for you. Happy Birthday my dear sistah. I am off to bed- just got home--another late night tonight. Tomorrow will be it for this week so maybe I can catch up with everyone Friday and during the weekend.
Happy Birthday again.
Elizabeth, sorry i did not get back to you today.I was spending time with my baby since he leaves out again tomorrow. It has been asleep since 9:00,so he is in dreamland.
Thank you Deborah, Crissy, Laura, Pegi, Maid M.. and you TINA in MB!!
Love you all very much, and how wonderful to come here night after night, and know that you are accepted for what you are.... blemishes and all!
Pegi, I can't be special just by myself, it takes more special folks like you all to make my mark in this world!! Hehehehe.. see my head swelling up?
Yes, am back, tummy's full, eyes heavy.
It was raining hard when we left, and we decide to have a not so romantic dinner at a country restaurant that has this great cook who hasn't been discovered yet. He's a genius with seafood. He doesn't overcook them.
Had broiled catfish (can eat catfish everyday), oysters, shrimps, scallops and steamed Alaskan crab legs. Can you say I'm stuffed?
I am stuffed!!
No mudbugs, Juanita. Don't think the Carolinians caught on to them yet.
Elizabeth, you will like it here. You can talk about anything here, give advice and vent. Aha!! Glad to know another brug lover!
Laura and Trisha, it's gonna be a record breaking heatwave where you're at. Wrap your necks with wet cold cloths. Besides keeping you cool, that too will keep your blood pressure down. Do anything that can cool you off, but don't go streaking!!
And yes Laura, you need to sweat.. Keeping the pores open by sweating do lower your body's internal temp. I learnt now why hot Asian countries eat more spicy foods. The bodies need to sweat in hot climates. That's why chilli peppers grow abundantly in those countries. God doesn't create junk!
Cody, I won't say it.. you know what to do..
Good night everyone, it's been one grand b'day for me. This year is the bestest ever! Thank you for the cards, the well wishes and your love.
Who's Tina in MB?
That is Tina in Myrtle Beach.....
I know Mama Jaye,i'm fixxing to go to bed.I will have to be up at 6:30.
Jaye, I’ll take the rain and the food. It got up to 106 degrees today. I was told it was an all time recorded high. As far as the seafood goes, yummy!
Though I guess the foot hills/mountains got rain; flash flood, large (get away from your windows) hail stone and lightening warning showed up on the “emergency broadcast system”, not around here, but within driving distance. It’s the first time I’ve actually seen the emergency broadcast system when it wasn’t a test and it came on twice. It was really amusing to watch Bart (The Simpsons) tell about flash floods and what not to do with your car.
I had a frozen washrag on my neck about 30 min. ago. My cats won’t use them, which is why I originally made them, but I found they worked great for me.
I don’t have to worry about high blood pressure, even though I smoke, drink “too much” alcohol and caffeine, have a stressful life, um… what else causes high blood pressure? Oh yeah eat so much salt my high school boyfriend threatened to get me a salt lick, but was afraid I’d use it; I still have low blood pressure, 90/60 is not that uncommon.
No… no streaking … I promise… really…
Good morning!
Community Med. Roast coffee this morning. Your choice of creamer.
Toasts, bagels and cream cheese and some apple fritters.
For those that want some meat protein, there are ham slices.
I hope today will be a better day for Laura, Trisha and LK. Let there be rain!
Have a good day today everyone.
Time for morning aerobics!
Morning everyone!
Thanks for the breakfast Jaye! What got you up so early?
Glad to see you survived another birthday, Jaye! I'd do a smiley face, but I can't remember how....sad, huh?

Late Morning Everyone!! Been kinda busy this morning, wanting to do everything that's not at my desk. I haven't slept good in 3 nights thinking about my conference, and I'm not getting response from the hotel and I've been working on this since February and usually have a contract signed by late March, so I just crossed out the one thing I needed crossed out, my boss signed it, and I faxed it over. Now maybe I'll be able to sleep tonight. LOL
Love the aerobics Panda!
Well, I was going to walk down the street and get some Mexican food but it's thundering and pouring and I don't want my hair to frizz, so maybe I'll just eat downstairs.
Hi Elizabeth, love the photos. That is fine, because i need to do some things around here too.
Hi Elizabeth! Great to meet you and glad you found us!
Love the Brugs!! If I had a place for them I would plant one plant of every kind there is in existence!
Good Morning, sweet sistahs!!
counting down to my vacation! Mom arrives Sat night :-)
(I can't remember how to do the smiley faces, either lol)
Crissyr
you would have to have a lot of acre's there are sooo many, I just have a few compared to what's out there, I have to give credit to Cody, she's the reason I can post Pix, now I just have to learn to cross them to get new ones. it's nice to meet you also
Elizabeth
My baby brug won't bloom this year, I'm sure (no Y, as far as I can tell......), but it's my first brug, and I'm going to have to bring it in this fall....THAT should be interesting.
Elizabeth, those brugs are so pretty. Do they have names, or are they NOIDS? I have like 30+ brugs, some named, and some NOIDS, and so far, no blooms. it is just too hot for them to bloom, so I am hoping I will get some blooms this fall???
For the smiley faces, hold down the shift key, then hit the ^ _ ^ but with no spaces. ^_^
Tallulah B
I have to take all 75 of mine in, I have grow light's in my basement, I put them in the ground at the end of april, then I lift them before frost, I do finally have a small greenhouse but it would cost too much to heat it all winter, so I just use it for the beginning & end of the season, I also have plant sales on my extra's, your baby Brug would do just fine in a sunny window, if you don't have one get you a grow light
Elizabeth
OH MY! You have 75 brugs? I bet you are in heaven when they bloom? Have you tried leaving them in the ground all year. Some say they just pile a bunch of leaves or mulch on them. They will come back. When you take them in the house, do you cut them back?
And where do you get the up arrow for the happy face? I don't see it on my keyboard...... not even the num keys......
It's the # 6 key
^_^
got it, Thanks ^_^
^_^ ^_^ ^_^
LOL
just read the Prayer Request thread for your mom - sorry I hadn't known about it earlier, but really pleased she's doing better, and hopefully will enjoy a much more pain-free birthday on the 14th!!!
Afternoon everyone......much cooler here today.....was only 76 at eleven this morning...will get much warmer as the day goes on but at least nothing like yesterday....
If you like Chuck Berry and that type of music here is an old friend of ours on youtube... Cincinati Slim.... this is one his sessions just before he moved to France this year...

I love Cactus... I only have one right now... I got it from a ditch at Mission San Miguel in California about twenty years ago.... It lives on my front covered walkway year round.
Susan, she's been dealing with this pain for 20 years and she had nerves cut 15 years ago but apparently they grew back about 2 years ago. She's never been completely out of pain the whole 20 years, it was just manageable. The dr who did the procedure the first time was young and awesome, when she started having the pain real bad again she went to look him up and he had passed away at age 41 from a massive heart attack. Every doctor has heard of him and said he was a genius and was way before his time, as he was the only dr in the world who was cutting nerves way back then. This dr in Minneapolis is one of 6 nerve drs in the United States and he kept putting her off, lets try this or this, she finally got mad and said, "I know what the problem is, I've had this problem for 20+ years and I'm almost 61 years old and don't have time to try this or that. Cut The Nerves!" He finally agreed to do it. My goodness!
My goodness, to be sure!
Drs are not gods (I work for an administative office of Pathologists..), and sometimes, for the family Drs, you have to stand up to them, and say "Stop - I know what's happening, so LISTEN TO ME!"
I had a Dr here tell me I needed to increase dosage of a med I've been on since I was 12, and that's 43 years (u do the math lol). I told him I'd been taking this med longer than he'd been alive LOL I went back home to Winnipeg and got my old Dr to write a letter to my current Dr, and he said "Susan should take it the way she's managing it. Even if it looks like her med is low, it's apparently working for her."
Guess what?! he told me to take it whatever way I felt was right.
Crissyr
I am sorry to hear about your mom having pain
Linda Kay
all my Brugs are named, the first Pic is angels exotic, the Apricot moon flower, it starts out white the turns Apricot,
I made plant labels with cut mini blinds, a hole punch & twine, you can write on them with a pencil & it doesn't fade
I also have a bunch of crosses from seed
Elizabeth
Cool!! I have two pink ones, they're either pink velvet or one is a pink velvet and the other is a pink something else.
That's hilarious Susan, Don't fix it if it's not broke!!
Oh neat Elizabeth! I wish mine would bloom, I might have a picture of them on the work computer...Here, they are way taller than the cages now.
