Garden Photo's 09 ......# 36
thanks, folks!
I think that is the same cactus that I had blooming just a little while back, Jo Ann.

Great shots of the butterfly, et al, Phoebes!
The StarGazers are starting to open! WooHoo!
Such beautiful, beautiful photos. I am loving all of the DL shots ... and oh, my goodness, what a beautiful little fairy to begin the thread! Just precious!!
can't sit out in the garden at night because of the mosquitos. We diffenetly live in salt water plus fresh water mosquitoland.
Oh, nice photos! I can never get close enough for a butterfly---they fly! Willie, forgot to tell you the 'Black Beauty' lily is scented, but not too much. Thanks for noticing the fence, Shelley---it used to start at the bottom of our road, & go to the town line---4 houses up from ours. However, some folks took their sections down, others have neglected theirs (see Bill, there are some in every neighborhood), but our son rebuilt part of it this spring, & I painted it. I'm sorry it's not complete on the whole road. Here's another dahlia opening...
I must be hungry! My eyes went right to the tomatoes behind the dalia! LOL--haven't eaten a native tomato yet this year! willie--I;m still working on learning settings for outdoor photos. Weather makes a huge difference! I am enjoying everyone's pics. Sunsets are that vivid in Fla celeste?

Well I might of been stretching it a little. Here, you be the judge......
I see the resemblance! I've never seen a sunset like that before! Wow!
Pixie.... lovely lilies! I really like the 'Midnight In Marrakesh'
Robin... maybe the new facelift on your fence will inspire your neighbors. At least one can hope! I think that it even makes the flowers stand out more.
Willie... great picture of the "pond shot facing west". Very descriptive too!
Phoebe... beautiful dahlias.
Onewish! The yellow flower is Ligularia.Just starting to open. Its a huge plant where I have it 4 feet diameter.

What a lovely specimen of JoAnneii you have blooming there, JoAnn!
I have been searching all over for a division, but they seem to be extra-ordinarily rare!
I think HH means HollyHock.
Phoebes, I have had a lot of practice shooting a camera and I still have troubles!! Though, with the new camera I just got myself for my birthday (next week) will help a lot, I bet!!!
The problem here is the contrast it too deep. A dark, dark flower with a bright, bright background makes the camera's automatic metering programs go bonkers.
Most of the shots of the Dahlia 'Arabian Knights' came out like this one .... not like the one I posted above.
All those blossoms, Celeste!! Oh, what I would give to have that much room
