Okay I love love love your pond area and fountain willie. All your pics are lovely, I really like Stella! and I hope your neighbors appreciate their view too. Very nice.
Thanks, Patti! I always enjoy your contributions!
Had to squeeze in some fun touring visiting family around ..... I know .... bummer, right??!??
How many have been to see Niagara Falls?? One of my favorite places, despite itself.
Here's a good shot with a double rainbow of the folks getting wet at the foot of the falls on the Cave of the Winds tour, which, of course we all had to do!! Much to the chagrin of those with curling straightened hairdos!
Nice shots, Willie! I hope to get to Niagara Falls at some point. I love that fountain in your pond! Someday..........
Do you think you can come to our RU in September....speaking of traveling! LOL
The view up river with N.F., NY in view
Thanks, Louise, I am hoping business will allow, but I have to wait and see about that .... I can usually work it out to get things done ahead of time to free up my weekends. But, there are often weekends I need to catch up so I am not behind the eight ball on the following Monday.
I am going to hope for the best, you can bet!
I know a good tour guide if you are ever in the area, Louise!
Nice to see the Falls---haven't been there since I was a teen. Pat, your plantings are just right ---everything blooming together---I have so many bare spots---keep trying to coordinate, but it's not happening. Here is 'Black Beauty'--I love it, but it's usually blooming in Aug.---too cool & rainy....
Thanks for the tour. It's been awhile since we've been. I like the Canadian side too.
ngam love that garden photo in post 6881447
Willie love the Perilla, nice view into the neighbor's yard.
We've been to Niagara a couple times. Last time was in '98 drove over to the Canadian side and didn't want to pay the crazy fee for the parking lots( I have no idea how much it was then) So we parked in one hotel and tried to walk thru the hotel to the other side(had to come out somewhere) could not find an exit out to the other side so ended up having to walk all the way around this HUGE hotel and parking lot. Hubby mumbling the whole time, "I hate Canada"
loved the tour... you brought back some memories Willie... I love love love the falls... the shot you have of the observation deck on three sisters... I have shots where they had it closed off because of ice in the winter... and we were knocking down chunks of ice off the fence they had up... and racing them down to the bottom... I went 4 times for new years eve... and only once in the summer... the last year (when ever that was)... was the year they started building the first casino... I keep trying to talk Randy into going up there.. I just love it
Your monarda and echi are looking great, Jo Anne, and is that a yellow mullien I see? I love mulliens, even the common ones. In fact the common ones are such wonderful, structural plants, and that fuzzy, gray-green foliage is awesome.
Pat, how can you squish slugs? I've tried, and they are so slimy they just pop right out from between my fingers. Snails squish well, though. Do snails eat the same things that slugs eat? They don't eat DL's, I know that. Your DL's are looking great, btw. Great shots, too. You have good exposures.
That perilla is gorgeous, Willie! I never would have know it wasn't coleus. So is 'Arabian Knight' dahlia. Wow! Neighbors taking lessons from you, are they? I love it when I can get neighbors interested in gardening. Great pics of the Falls! What a fantastic place! Must be absolutely wonderful to visit. It's on my list of must see places before I die.
Karen
Thanks Jo Anne.... That's sweet! Nice collage.
Thanks Allison, Ngam, and Willie! We all feel like we're cooking right now, but at least it will make 90 deg. on Sat. seem really nice!!
Ngam... your favorite section is beautiful!!
Willie... great pictures. But holy cow, those pictures of the cold water are making me drool!!
Robin, Love the yellow dl.
I just had to repost this. It's something that I posted over on the PNWest weather thread a bit ago.....
..........You know that it's hot when you're at work in a large fascility, the building is losing power, and instead of turning down the A/c (which only manages to keep the building at 85 deg.), they decide to turn off 90% of the lights, the non essential phones, and the hot water heater. That's what happened to us today at work. The halls were dark, in any area where there are windows... they didn't even have lights for their desks, only one elevator (out of four) was functional, and many folks didn't have phones. I do truly believe that there are smart maintanence people working there because I don't think that many other places would've made those choices. By doing all of that it allowed them to leaves the AC on and people could leave all of their fans on. I like that way of thinking!!!
Good energy conservation idea RC.
Willi! I like your view of the neighbors garden.
Might start a threas on the subject.
