Good morning.
Thank God I woke up earlier than usual, and have a few minutes to start this room.. don't want Juanita to suffer with her dial up.. and Cindy too.
Breakfast special today. Ham and cheese omellette, with a sprinkle of sauteed onions. Juice and milk and of course coffee.
For those that haven't seen the pictures Cody and Marion posted in the previous room, take a look see. Might recognise some of your not so favorite relatives there!
LK, hope your knee doesn't give you any problems today. Rest well.. enjoy the day checking quilting stuffs online.
Ladies, I do hope you all have a wonderful Thursday, no heat, few mosquitoes and laughter at work.
See you all later!
Morning everyone! Jaye thanks for the new room, and breakfast! Congrats on the new early birthday gift! Looks like it does a lot!
Cody look at that litle boy, he is growing so fast! Looks like you had a great time!
Marion! Love the pictures so far. Waiting for more.
Knee is doing ok, but I need to keep it on ice packs. It wants to swell up, if I walk on it? I go back for a follow up next week, so she will check it out then!
Cindy those turtles are huge! Does she have a lot of property to keep them?
Catch you all later.
LK
Jaye that sewing machine looks gret. Now you can dive right into all those quilt blocks! I went a put more down on the new one I am getting. Have to really talk myself out of putting it on the old charge instead of paying it off little by little as I planned. I WANT IT NOW!
Going to take lessons when I get it as it is a computerized one and I need to have someone show me how to make it work. Jaye, does the shop you bought it from offer lessons? I get more out of those that trying to read the manuel.
Why is it we all have knee problems? They seem to be the first to go. Since I can't take Aleve with my blood pressure med I have to settle for good old Ibeprofin. Sometimes it works and sometimes...well you know how it goes.
Can't wait to the the pic of the volcano, Marion. Wow, you really must have gotten close. That would be awesome.
Rain here all night and now today but we did need it. Wish I could send some to those in need but that is not in my power. Just happy that my garden will perk up and the plants will say "Thank you".
LK, my aunt has 3 acres, and I think the area where the turtles are is huge. Sad thing is my aunt is thinking about putting it up for sale. But she'll never get what it's worth. If I had the money I would buy it in a heart beat. So many childhood memories there. They bought the house in '64'. But Auntie Bev can't take care of it by herself anymore and with all the grandson's grown and having families of their own they don't have time to help Auntie Bev.
I'm going to be working outside, transplanting a new Iris bed. Then when it gets too hot inside to work on some sewing.
TTYL ^_^
Morning Ladies.
Jaye thanks for the new room and yummies for breakfast! I definately want to print and frame the pic of Tristen although I didnt know that dragon flies were for prosperity.. I hope your back is feeling better..
Crissy Im on facebook too and love farmtown..
Trisha I love your lil frog he is too cute! Any word on your car yet? Heres hoping its something small and easy to fix..
LK sorry to hear your knee is bothering you.. Mine is giving me lil fits with the weather changing ..
Phyllis did they get your power ssues figured out? I think I would ask for a credit for a day or two..
Cindy your turtles are ery cool. We had a few when we had our pet shop and they were always fun to watch play around when they were in teh mood to go they really could move faster than I thought.. lol
Cody great pics. It looks like you had a wonderful time..
As for me today its raining yet again but its great for the garden.. I will be headed out to return a few books, go to get grocery and pay a few bills,,, What a way to spend my day off. O well at least Im able to pay bills right!
Huggs
Donna
Thanks,Donna,we had a blast,it was like a mini zoo their.
Janice, yes we were and were not close at the observation point. We were close enough that we could see with our eyes the eruptions, one of which was a really huge boulder bright red rolling down the side and breaking up into smaller pieces. I couldn't capture the red very well but the smoke is where the action was happening.
Marion, who is that with you?
Man I'm going to be in so much trouble next month, lol. I'm going to order a bunch of daffs, tulips and hya-cynthias,lol
Cody, you can come over to my house if you want to see more raccoons. Feeding a couple every night here. It's awesome to watch them eat.. they use their paws.
Rest LK. You don't need to be using that foot. AND as we age, our healing time expands...
Oh Donna... you don't know how thankful I am to God that He leads you and Max to a better path. I see beautiful days ahead..
Janice, yes, the owner offers lessons, and the wonderful part is that she's a certified Viking repair person. Kel offered cash on spot, and she took a couple of hundreds off! It came with a walking foot, acrylic extension table and quilting guide, and she threw in a 1/4" foot too.
The best thing about the machine, it has a 'scant' function. Position the needle where you want it to be, and voila!! No more straining the eyes or taping!
The Singer Quantum has more than 200 stitches, but can't manipulate needle position, and you can forget about accurate 1/4" seams. Doesn't run as quiet as the Viking.
Yes you can say I'm in Heaven...but why am I still using the Pfaff? :D
Beautiful pic there Maid M. Never been close to a living volcano. Is that Kim with you? Hi Kim!!
I bet your legs were sore from trekking up the mountain.
Did you get your plants from Wesley House?
Cindy, you won't be the only one!
I love Bleek's stuffs. And this co-op will be another reliable one. Will be ordering Alliums and Daffs. Lord have mercy on my spending!
Well, off to run errands.. then return to the new machine.. and cut more materials for blocks, if not Janice and Maid M. will disown me!
Yes, that is my daughter, Kim, and yes our legs were worse than sore. Following the hike we went to soak in the hot springs and now I like hot water but this was almost to much for me. Shall I say I was par boiled? Had to get out every 15 minutes get into the cold (dissolving ice I think) to cool down. Next day we both were fine.
Jaye, I waited to order the plants until now as I didn't want them to arrive while I was away. How do your's look? Can't wait to receive mine now.
Cody, sounds like you almost had more fun than Alex if that is possible. Kewl pictures of the animals.
Waving to Donna!!
Off to a quilt shop in Moultrie, Ga. Just looking...................................right!
Marion - you are NOT just looking! Sorta like me, when I go to any kind of sewing room.... would Love to get a quilting sewing machine....
Have a wonderful day, everyone!!!!
He he!!! Yes I am!! Ask Jaye!!!
I am out of here............................
beautiful, Trisha!
I'm at work, or I'd show you the beautiful single hibiscus flowers that greeted me this am.
By the time I get home it will be so hot that they will be wilted.....
It's a white one, with a deep purple center - so lovely!
Thanks Jaye!!! I was just going to ask for the new room and you beat me to it.
Had a wonderful morning sealing a driveway. Just finally managed to get all the black stuff off of my ankles where my partner kept splashing me with it when he would pour. I'm still trying to figure out how landscaping relates to sealing driveways, but I guess when you are in this business and it stops raining you get to do whatever folks want. :0).
Trisha does that lily smell good?? I need to get some of the lilies that smell wonderful. Have a client with some around their pool and as soon as I open the gate I can smell them.
Cindy we tried to get Hughesnet, but our problem here is line of sight to the satellite. We live in the woods and we are just barely able to get Directv. Have had to move the dish twice since we got it. One of the geeks at Best Buy that was helping me a while back with my old laptop said that Hughesnet is not really that much faster. I think he was just trying to make me feel better. :0)
Well I must away. Love being here, but it isn't getting my dishwasher unloaded.
Juanita
Hi Jaye, yea,it is very neat to watch them eat with their paws. You were able to feed the animals and the raccoon was at one of the tunnels were you put the feed in and it was so cute. It was sticking it's paw in the tunnel wanting food so i put some food down the tunnel. He kept his paw in the tunnel so he would not lose his food.
Hey Marion, yea,i admit that i enjoy things like that. Now that alex is at that age that he can have fun and enjoy stuff like that.
Nice Pics Cody! Thanks for sharing.
Here's some info on tortoises if you want to read it, it's not very long. Has some cool pictures too.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tortoise
I've got to catch up on the previous thread, and somehow I got lost and missed the second half of the thread before that LOL
Ask me what? That you're a fabricaholic?? Lolol...
Those 3 in 1 are pretty tiny.. guess we can't complain. So who has the green thumbs... you Marion?
That has got to be Stargazer, Trisha. All my Orientals, Asiatics and Trumpet lilies quit blooming :**( I'll miss their fragrance.
Juanita, if you want some cloyingly sweet smelling lilies, get you some of the Orientals and Asiaitics. They grow tall and look magnificent as background plants or in beds.
Make happy memories for Alex Cody. You know if we're living closer, you won't see him much!
Rain starting to pour, and had to postpone some errands. Yippee.. that means I can start to play on the machine!
Oh.. just ordered some Alliums, Cindy. Think I'll have to order more. Am thinking now of just a bed for Alliums.
Sun still hasn't broken through....but the yard has been full of birds since it has been cool.
Yes Juanita, I love these lilies because they do smell wonderful!!

We had a doozy of a storm here before dinner. It rained an inch in about 15 minutes. Hail too. Kinda wiped out that fabulous driveway I mentioned somewhere before. Oh well, won;t be the last time.
Juanita
Oh please send the rain down here--we really need it!
Hi Synda, missed you and congratulations on the 10 lbs. Way to go!!
Ok one of these days I need to check out facebook.
Jaye, green thumb? Nope not here--my things thrive on benign neglected as Ross used to put it. Let's just say a medium green thumb.
Well all I was so excited my next door neighbor was taking out 5 trees in the fence row so I just knew I would have a spot with more sun! Nope, not to be--he planted palm trees in their places so no more sun than usual. Guess I will just stick to shade gardening.
