Crissy, what kind of music did you listen to. Memphis is famous for its' blues too. As for pulled pork, the best I had was actually in Arkansas, a little town called Paragould. It wasn't oily, not too smoky, and absolutely delicous.
Never been to Graceland. Did you feel the King's presence?
You will always get colds, but a chance to go to Memphis... you are so right...now who would turn that down?
Cindy, I don't have glads in this yard. Bought some from a co-op..think it was from Bleeks, ended up giving them away. If they do it again, I'll get some more. Like the purple one. Truly majestic looking when they soar to the sky likt that.
Janice, check the vets' bulletin boards. Might get lucky there.
Those SPCA folks must have set unrealistic guidelines for the Humane Society.
Oh my.. so sorry to read of your MIL's twin death. Must be terribly hard on her. Will pray for her state of mind, and hope she won't get depress too long. Twins do have a unique bond.

I had no clue I was so far behind on my threads. I really haven't been trying to ignore you guys! I'll try to keep up now. It's hard when DH is home, he gets first dibs on the computer and I've had a lot going on recently. I went to my Brother-in-laws wedding this weekend. They couldn't have asked for a better day to do it. I'll try to remember to put up some photos. I've also been working my hands off on my wedding present for them and am basically only started on it. I designed a cross stitch pattern with a Celtic knot boarder and poem in the middle, but it's so much work. It's the biggest cross stitch I've taken on; though simpler than the tiger I made for mom. I think it'll be worth it in the end.
That's totally understandable Laura, since your DH monopolize the pc :D
I do that to Kel! He had to beg for some time on it!
Celtic eh? She will have the most treasured wedding gift cause it will be an heirloom, and it comes from your heart.
Can't wait to see a pic of it, when you've finished.
LOL Jaye. Memphis is only 3 hours from my house. Dave was asking why we were there, he's never been an Elvis fan and he's been dead for 30 years. I told him to feel the experience and go back in time. He didn't buy it. I explained that going to Memphis and not doing the Graceland thing is like going to Memphis and not listening to Blues and eating BBQ, just not right. He was also complaining about the price at Graceland, again had to explain that you only do it once and I think it's the most expensive tour in Memphis. He was ok with that. LOL Men are funny.
Blues is good if it's live, can't listen to it on the radio for some reason. I'm an 80's girl so I like the 80's music all the way around, especially the hair bands. I love 80's metal. I was raised on 80's country so I listen to that, don't listen to too much current country unless it's someone really good like Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, you understand. Dave was a DJ in a bar when I met him so he likes hip hop so I listen to that, current hard rock isn't very good but there are some bands I like in that genre as well. Love to dance to Disco, and let's see. I guess you can say I like every kind of music except Opera and Classical.
Crissy? Disco?? Ouch my back!!! Lolol! Last time I was in Memphis was about 9 years ago, for a jazz concert. Not much dancing there.
Never could get into rap nor hip-hop. Do appreciate most music though, much to the church's disapproval. Even went to a Creed concert :D
Main thing is you and Dave had fun.
Trisha, what's the verdict on your mum? Did the doctor ordered strict bed rest? How is your sister? And is Conner seeing a neurologist?
So sorry you got more worries on your shoulders.
Hope you rest well tonight, and Bill surprise you with a take-out.
Well.. calling it a night. Good night ladies.
Synda, we miss you!
Mom has been making cards and Dessert for tomorrows Church luncheon.....
I saw Andy this morning and got my back worked on and he took care of an issue I have been having with my neck......first thing tomorrow I am making an appointment for mom. No word from my sis on the family problems...will just keep them in our prayers.
My Uncle Rex is back in the hospital....Aunt Joyce says sometimes he knows her, other times not....He is at that point that I think it would be such a blessing if the good Lord would just call him home.......
Got the rose bushes all moved today....now may
be I nurse the poor little Rhodie back to health....and get the poor roses back in shape. The birds are loving the new landscape and feeders....have had a lot of the goldfinches visiting the new feeder today!!
Got two little corner plantings on either side of the end of the drive way with coreopsis, hen and chicks, and korean raspberry.....anything to cover up a bit more lava rock!!!!
Susan, prayers for your MIL.....losing a sister is difficult....a twin, even more so....
DH is finally home so going to fix Udon Noodles with lots of veggies for dinner and call it a night....
Have a good night everyone....
She sure is growing...glad to see she is doing well....
Have a good night...
Morning everyone. Coffee is on!
Where is everyone? Must be busy doing summer things! gardenning, summer trips! Marion, we are waiting on pictures from you when you get he chance please?
Cody, thanks for the pictures! Angel sure is growing! So glad she made it.
Guess I need to get moving, and take a shower! Water the flowers...
Later
LK
'morning - I got the most wonderful news a gardener can, yesterday!!
As some of you may, or may not, know - I live in a trailer, with a tree-covered, sloping, tiny back yard, so I don't grow any vegetables at home. I have flower berms, but nothing big enough to have a veggie garden.
Well...........I've been tidying up a friends back yard, and discovered she has a plot of land on the other side of her garage (about 120 sq ft), and she does nothing with it, so she's agreed to let me garden it! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!! I haven't had a vegetable garden since I moved from Winnipeg in '06, so I just use pots on my deck and that's not very productive. I'll have to dig up the grass, and she's asked that I leave the Rhubarb that's been there for 50 years! AS IF I'd touch it - I love rhubarb, which is why I have some of hers, and made a rhubarb custard pie, which I brought to work for my co-workers & I (My DH doesn't like this type of pie, but I do........)
I'm sooooooo 'cited!!!
Thanks,LK,she is a fighter that is for sure.
Trisha I'm praying for Uncle Rex. Sometimes it's best to go be with the Lord, if the drs say there's no possibility he'll get any better, of course drs are wrong a lot, but that's not living. My grandmother had Alzheimer's so bad that she didn't know where she was at, didn't know any of us, didn't know herself, we were praying that the Lord just take her, seems her job was done here on Earth.
Look at the babies!!
OMG Susan that's awesome!! Congratulations on your new find!!
Oh now that's entirely too cute!!!
Susan, that is great news! What will you be planting?
Trisha, please keep us posted on Uncle Rex! Sending prayers for him, and family.
LK
My prayers for all who need - Trisha, I'll pray for Uncle Rex & family, etc.
I'll plant tomatoes, potatoes, beans, peas, o gosh - I'm not sure LOL
ummmm green, red & yellow peppers, pumpkin, and I MAY have room for corn, too :-)
My DH doesn't think you get nice corn when you grow it on your own, but I know better (at least in Winnipeg - Calgary may be different LOL)
There is some really sweet Taber corn we grow in Taber, AB, so perhaps it's easier to go to Taber to get some! I know of people who wait all year for Taber corn, but this year & last they had bad seasons - either too much, or not enough rain - so I don't know....
Thanks everyone....
We have the Church group coming for our monthly lunch today.....
After that we may go for a drive and collect some larger rocks for the flower bed border....mostly an excuse to get mom out or a drive....
Susan, so happy you have found some garden space...know you are going to have fun with it...and yes home grown corn can be excellent!!
I'm late for my own room as usual, but I'm here for a few.
Hello ladies.
Thanks for the breakfast LK. You're a sweetheart, making sure we're fed.
How are you today? When will your stitches be taken out? With Todd working now, how are you coping?
Trisha, God is very merciful, and He listens to well intended prayers, but all according to His time. Consider your Uncle Rex as in bliss.
Been pushing Kel to make an appt. with a chiro. He needs it bad. He's living on Aleve.
Hoping you have more time for your own projects than having to run often to a medical facility.
Thank you for the pic of the Eagle's nest! Awesome to be so close to one. And all built on a 21st. century pole!
Yeah, your mum can do no harm in a car, Trisha!
Thanks for the update on Angel, Cody. You took good care of her and we will have to call you Duckie Angel!
Feeling your excitement C_Susan! All that dirt for you to play in! Do you still have enough warm days to plant some summer veges.. well.. you can always start early on the fall ones right? Or maybe some herbs that are fast growing? Okay.. which recipe did you use to make that rhubarb pie?
Not all corn is sweet, I found that out the hard way! One customer gave us a box of fresh corn. I boiled them only to taste bland corn. AND it's grown right here in Tabor, C_Susan. Apparently your Taber has better corn. I think our corn is made for canning!
Cris, my ex late mum had Alzheimer's. It was bad for the caretakers like us. We had a dog that lived with us, and she would pick up Gypsy and wrapped her like a pappoose and call her 'baby'. Funny thing was, when she had all her faculty intact, she won't touch any furry creatures. Another thing she liked to do was folding towels.. she'd fold them and refold them..
She gave me the scare of my life when I got out of the shower and found her gone. A neighbour brought her back to the house a few seconds later. She had walked down the country road with an empty suitcase, mumbling she's going home! She was truly in 'bliss' as they politely said.
Have you ever had a dream that grips you all day long!!
Well I had one last night. Must be the result of 2 Lyricas! I dreamt that I was falling off a cliff, and at that time, I knew I'd be kissing the earth, was ready to die than all of a sudden, my body soared at a 45* angle straight up to the sky!! I flew and some fear grabbed me. I wanted to feel the earth.. asking to be plummeted down again.. then I woke up.
Curious here.. maybe some of you had weird dreams like me..care to share?
Got to get busy ladies. Off to take care of the plants, do some necessary weeding. Aha!! You'll be weeding more C_Susan. But better than gardening in pots ;)

Yea, my grandmother turned from this reserved religious person to a cussing party animal. We figured that's the way she was before she met my grandfather. She worked for the County in the Juvenile Hall, started out making beds and worked her way up to be the lead cook. When we put her in the rest home after my grandfather passed she thought she was at work and tried to get into the kitchen, she would make everyone's beds, the staff had it really easy lol! Then the problem came at night, she would go to bed, but then get up several times and end up being in bed with every man in the Alzheimer unit. They said she was looking for my grandfather, after all, she said that she drove to work and she had her '49 Chrysler in the parking lot and could leave at any time as her shift was over. She had the disease for about 11 years before a stroke took her life.
Hey Everyone, there is a thread called "Spooks, Ghosts, and Wheeping Ladies" that is for weird dreams and such. We have quite the party in there sometimes.
Thanks,Jaye, guess what it is raining.I'm doing the happy dance.
Aww Crissy.. that's so sadly--funny about your grandma. At least she didn't try killing the men she slept with!!
Dance for me over here Cody. Just got through watering one part, and SWEATING like crazy!!
Good for you, RoseGirl! If it were raining here, I'd be doing the happy dance too!
hmm on 2nd thot, I wouldn't be able to do gardening.....
Yes, Jaye, I'll be doing more weeding, but for the benefits, I'm happy to do it!!!
hmmmmmstrange dreams, eh? Well, not recently, but I used to have a recurring dream as a child. I would wake up at home, and my family was chasing me with knives. I raced out of the house, and went from door-to-door asking for help (even of my friends) and they all came chasing me with knives...... The dream kept on for about 4 years before it faded away. Talk about a Freudian-type of dream, eh?!
Hmmm..
A wise Chinese elder would say.."Be extra careful not to make people with sharp knives angry"!
Jaye,i won't dance know more for the rain it has STOP.
It is raining all around us except for here.

It's been raining here all day. Yay I won't have to water for 2 days!!
d^_^b clapping for you Crissy. That means the mosquitoes take a break too!
Next year will soon be here.
I don't normally recommend co-ops.. but I have bought from Bleeks before, and maybe some of you might be interested in acquiring daffs, tulips or alliums. Don't want any to regret missing on this.

Jaye, firestorm is so pretty! Thanks for sharing.
I have not spent any time with anyone that has had "oldtimers" as hubby puts it, but I have heard some stories!
Jaye, I have had dreams that I was falling, but not quiet like yours!
This is one article I found online.
