Luvly dahlia DonnieB! I'm amazed at the number of DLs everyone has. I would have a nervous breakdown trying to get all those to bloom.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Pixie it is Sunny Crown, put the bulbs in last fall.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

O wha 'wanky' = 'pretentiously showy and a little bit silly' in the dahlianut dictionary. I think that name that guy called you is a bad word and not the same at all :x

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Thanks, Pixie....I trust your memory....it'll come to you at some point! LOL I MUST buy one of those garden marker pens that don't fade before I go south!!! Somewhere I did a map of where I put each, but can't find it. :(

Dahlia - you are a riot!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great shots - all!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Lovely!!!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

Definitely very pretty!

Dahlia... I second your thoughts on that many DL's causing a break down for me!

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

Celeste, I'm loving your combos. It's like you really thought it out before you planted them, unlike mine that I like to call happy accidents.

I don't know why DL's would cause anyone a break down. They are such tough little buggers. They bloom they're little heads off with very little if any care from me.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Ok Dayne we're gonna have a Dispute. 1) one giant DL is SO huge I have to run by it really fast in case it takes me out. 2) a DL is doing a "War of the Worlds" grasp on a mini rose and 3) MOSTLY of mine don't bloom every year. Ok those are my DL issues. Yes I'm a whiner/complainer. ps Dayne we don't really have a Dispute at all ^_^ . The real answer is: I have grown the DLs from hoot.

you guys are killin me

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

celeste very nice! had not thought too much about dl combo's here will have to think about that.

dnut i'm sure it was not nice - we almost came to blows about it on a remote trail in nepal. he did not like what i said about some locals who would not get out of my way - what he did not know was the girl i was with could speak nepalese and told me what the locals were saying about me thinking we did not understand - this was an epic trek, got stuck in a horrible little town due to weather, the bush planes could not get in - lost our sherpa's when they got drunk on local moonshine, they had a knife fight, no one got hurt although they abandoned us, then ran out of $$ and decided to hike out, i had to carry two packs with 100 lb of gear for 5 days over two or three 10,000 ft. peaks each day - i was in no mood to listen to someone call me names! - i lost about 20 pounds down to my college grad. weight - we did clear up the situation over a beer later that night when we both ended up in the same tea house and explained what they were really saying - basically they had laughed at how much i was carrying and told each other not to give me any space to pass - when i figured out what they were trying to do i did pass

OMG wha what an adventure!!! It sounds like Romancing the Stone. Did you find any treasure?

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

actually it something i will never forget - have all the altitudes still in my altimeter watch and written into the little journal i kept. spent too much on gore-tex gear to leave it behind - had a backpack stuffed to the gills and a duffel bag across my shoulders. Lukla to Jiri 5 days and a 14 hour bus ride to katmandu. as they say nepal is flat - little bit up little bit down.

Hey folks! Still looking good all over, whether flower, or stone, combo or alone, nice photos!

I do have to say, Spooky really stands out!

Things are growing like bonkers here, and I think there should finally be some veggies besides chard and basil to harvest in the next week or two!!

I finally found some time to get some more shots between family visits and work. I might even find time tomorrow to post some, if I keep my nose to the grind stone!

Seems I overlooked this guy! Woo Hoo!! The first zucchini!! Must be 3 pounds! Guess I will make zucchini bread with it.

Nice Victor. Looks very full and lush. Nice seat for am coffee. My blue muffin has no berries. Something munched the flowers. Probably those darn slugs. They have been everywhere, even found them 7' up on a clem. Nasty slimy buggers. Your friend looks happy yours are still available for dining.
Early am sun yesterday, it has been cloudy and raining since but I got a nice pic before it disappeared again.

Congrats on your first zucchini willie. It's a beauty. Yum zucchini bread sounds good.
