LK,did you mean big hugs?

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

LK you told us you swore off the drugs. :0)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hehehehehe... I sure wouldn't want a DEA reading this thread!!!!
Please LK.. no bugs.. legal or otherwise!!

Yep, good news on Murdock. Thanks for the prayers, and he's supposed to resume chemo next week.

Susan, you've made the right move. But if she still doesn't act differently after that, do not get out of sorts with her, lest she engages you into something more undesirable, and your guiless action becomes like the proverbial 'pearls thrown to swines'.…
Just let your light shine through 'naturally'. I am sure whatever's irking her is not you.

Eyes still hurting now. Using some eyedrops to relieve the redness. Just been tired lately.. and yes BJ, I've been taking my minerals.
Must be.. got to be.. old age :D

Coushatta, LA

OH no Jaye, you are not old, their should not be such a word.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hey Sweetie, how's the movie?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Phyllis.. you must have mastered the rain dance!!
It's heading back this way! Yippee..
along with some lightning..

Coushatta, LA

It was good,Alex really enjoyed it.It was good to see him laugh and have fun. Then he wanted to go to McDonald's.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Did Rob get his Happy Meal too?

Coushatta, LA

No we got Angus meals. They were good too.I got the #15 and he got the #16.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Never tried the Angus.
Only time we'll drive through MickeyD's is for some breakfast burritos.
I remember the coffee sold at McDs in Louisiana was good. Not in this town.. it's like dishwater. Now they sell the 'gourmet' kind like the mocha.. that is still dishwater, only the rag is added to it, to give it 'body'! Yuck!

Coushatta, LA

LOL!!!!ROTFL!!!!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm so ready for bed.. will bid you all a good night.
Thank you dear Cody for the wonderful gifts. You truly are an angel.

Susan, not to fret.. will definitely include you in my prayers. Nothing is impossible with Him but you have to release her to Him!

By the way.. Cody gave me a lovely angel with that wise saying too.

Good night everyone. See you in the 'morrow. Don't stay up too late Trisha!!!

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

no I didn't master it we only got 1/2 in the sun came out and dried it all up really could use more then that but I guess something is better then nothing since it filled my rain barrel

Just got home from seeing the new Harry Potter movie....mmmm....not sure kinda disappointed yet it did have several ares to laugh ..but then it is probably setting the stage for the next one too.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Jaye, etc - I have talked to her about my involvement with the church, and how much happier it's made me, but she acts like I'm proselytizing, and gets this weird look on her face. I suppose she had some kind of experience that has soured her, but frankly - it's not my fault & I won't take ownership of it.

I haven't seen the new Harry Potter movie, but I'm looking forward to seeing it sometime.

btw - has anyone read the Clan of the Cave Bear series?

Coushatta, LA

Phyllis,i want to see that one too.I also want to take my son the see the G-Force.That one looks like it would be good and funny. It comes out next Friday.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Good evening ladies....it has been a very long day. finished the retaining rock around my bed....mom was working on her craft room. We took a break and I went out and got an umbrella plant and some underwater plants for the pond. Then we stopped at HD and got garden soil and river rock to finish off the beds. Bill came home and I came in and started lunch when I heard her yell. She had gone to cut some shelves down on the bandsaw, her hand slipped and she cut a big gash in her thumb. The FD got the bleeding stopped and and bandaged it but she needed stitches so we spent three hours in emergency this afternoon...seems half the town was at the emergency room....she finally got 5 stitches.

Going to call it a night....just hope mom gets some sleep, the numbing agent was just starting to wear off when I came home...did have her take some of her perscription IBP so hopefully that will help.

Have a good night everyone.

Good Morning Ladies!
Breakfast is ready...Ham & cheese omelets, bacon, sausage and homemade biscuits along with a big pot of coffee.

Jaye--thanks for the recipes--they sound yummy!!

LK--hope you are recovering well and getting lots of rest.

Trisha--hope your Mom is feeling better this morning. That sounds like a nasty cut!

Donna--Ladybug had 4 kitties 9 weeks ago. She got fixed monday and the last of the kitties went to new homes Tues. Had a DG get-together here Sun and one of the gals took 2 of my kitties and one of Jeremy's!!

I am planning on putting up a misting system on my patio this weekend to keep things cool! And help my plants!

Everyone have a great day--we are expecting rain.

Linda

Morning Ladies,

Trisha, what are we going to do with our mothers? My mom is always doing things that she shouldn't, like getting up on the roof to cut wristira and trumpet vines down.

We are heading out the door early this am to do some shopping, Sam's Club, Wal-Mart and Lowe's. I getting one of the cobblestone molds to make a walkway thru the garden in back. It has been so hot here that I haven't been outside much. It has cooled down a little (high 90's) so maybe I can get something done.

Mom will be having orthoscopic surgery on her left knee Aug 11th. Hope this will fix it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Thanks for the breakfast!
Jaye I did not mean to send you bugs! Yuck! Just the pain meds typing for me I guess! I got lots of rest yesterday. Seems like everytime I sat on the sofa, I would sleep for another 2 hours!
I am feeling much better today. I can walk with just a cane, if I take it nice and slow. But steps are still a challenge to me! It will take me a few days to figure out how to work the steps! I have 3 big stitches in my knee, and so far, it is swollen abd red, with only one bruise on the top, inside of the knee.
Lots of knees getting fixed this summer. I thinkTrisha's Mom had hers fixed, and Marion I think is waitinf for her Moms knee to get fixed, and here Cindy needs to get her Mom's knee fixed!
LOL, Guess this is the yer of the knee! LOL
Trisha, Yeowww, you need to tell your mom, to take it easy with the saws!
Cody, thanks for the pretties! I look forward to wait and see what your going to post next!
Hope you all have a great day!
Later

LK

Good morning! It's wonderful when another sistah fixes breakfast ^_^
Thank you Linda. Misting system.. you just gave me a great tip! I sure could use that for the colony of brugs I have here.

LK.. got that leg elevated? Is that 'bell' working well? Todd catering to you?

Sorry to read about another visit to the emergency room Trisha. Thank God, it's her thumb.. your mum's lucky.. could be her arm!
Please tell me that she doesn't have anything else on her to do list.. cause I know you'll try to finish them off for her.

Cindy, your mum's a very independant woman. Take away that assurance, and watch her feel lost. I think your mum doesn't want to feel obligated to anyone.

Am late..am late.. errands to run before Kel's obligatory Saturday ruse. Most probably a jaunt to the bookstore.. gosh.. if only we could make a detour to watch that HP movie. Well at least, we have NetFlix :D

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Leg is elevated, and the bell works wonderful!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Cindy - how old IS your mom? Mine's 90, and giving into the "oh you helpless little woman" schtick! I hate it. When my mom comes to Calgary to visit, I treat her like a Lady, not a Baby, and she thrives.
My sister wants to cut her meat for her and Her sister wants to tie her shoes.
My DM lets her DD do it, but when it comes to Her DS, she puts her foot down and not too gently lol

My mom has all her faculties, and is just very frail & slow, but she manages!
She's coming her on Aug 1 (2 weeks!!!!) and I couldn't be happier! I'm so excited to see her again. It's been a year, and I didn't have vacation last time. This time I do. We're going to do a bit of vegging, and some visiting, but nothing too taxing.
I need to buy some safety bars, and a tall toilet seat, but not much else is needed.
We're in a trailer, so not a lot of traveling, and no stairs.

Sistahs - say some prayers for her please, cuz last year she fell before she came, and my DS's (I have 3, and one DB) didn't want her to come because of it!

Hello ladies,
Susan my mom is 82, she bowls 3 times a week, plus twice month in travleing club, she loves camping and fishing, cleans her own fish. She mows the lawn, as a matter of fact her nose got bent out of shape when I did it last time so no more for me. Since I have been here she has been working outside in the yard with me. She hates housework!!!!!! So she doesn't mind that I do that, after all I'm a retired Merry Maid, lol. She loves going on the water rides at 6 Flaggs, we are planning a trip soon.
Jaye, it is just to dagerous for her to get up on the roof. I let her do anything else but that. The thing of it is she was doing it when no one was around. What if she fell? Who would find her and how would she get to a phone? About 5 years ago she was carrying some groceries in the house and tripped over the welcome mat, fell and cracked her pelvic bone. She crawled to the phone and called my daughter, they rushed her to the hospital.

I was in our Wal-Mart and noticed that they still had fabric. I asked the lady if they were going to discontinue and she said NO, that enough people complained about it, so they get to keep it going. She had worked at another Wal-Mart that did close the fabric department and transfered to this one. She said that if those of you whose Wal-Marts did discontinue the fabric if you can get lots of peeps to complain about it they will probably open it back up. The ones in Oregon aren't closing either. LK, when you are able you should stand outside your Wal-Mart with a petition and maybe they will bring back the fabric department. Complain to Headquarters is what the woman told me.
I'm glad ours is staying open they've got some pretty fall and christmas fabrics out.

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Jaye dear...could we get a new thread?? This one almost didn't load for me this PM.

Thanks,
Juanita
