I got up this morning and looked out my front window and mom is laying a new walkway between her house and mine. We have had step stones of sorts, two pavers together with spaces in between....I have worried about her tripping on them....we now have a solid paver walkway, I will try and get a picture tomorrow...we got that finished and she decided we needed to replace the broken concrete lining the front planting bed with the retaining wall blocks....we are half way through.... Been a long tiring day and I think I will turn in early.

Donna, hope tomorrow shows some improvements on Tristen's skin. You got one tough child there!

Just got through dispensing names for the Stuffed Envelope Swap.

Cody, don't stay up too late please. I'm already way past my bedtime.

Hello Ladies!

I have been gone for quite awhile but decided to pop in and see how everyone is doing. I will never get caught up but will try to keep up if possible. Have to head to work soon! working 11-12 hrs a day now. (Extra plant money tho! LOL!)
Deborah--the wedding pics were great. Beautiful bride and handsome groom!
Donna--Poor Tristen! I hope her hives gets better soon and there are no further problems with her tummy hurting. Be sure to give her a big hug for me. Say hi to Tony too. I wanna see some garden pics girl!!!!
I have a impromptu mini-round-up here Sun and we had a great time (also found home for 2 of my kitties!) Mostly local gardeners and one from further south!.

Trisha labor laws are mostly state. In CA you can't work over 6 days in a row, in AR it's you can't work more than 27 days in a row. Anything over 8 hours a day is overtime, plus anything over 40 hours a week is overtime, and he makes $17.00 an hour regular pay, so yea his checks are going to be fat but I'd rather have normalcy than money. 2 hours a day, every day is time and a half, the 10 hours on Saturdays is all time and a half, the 10 hours on Sundays is all double time.

I hope Tristin's hives and stomach problems go away with the medicine. I wonder what she's allergic to? My dad breaks out in hives if he has any kind of dairy product. Has she ever had an allergy test?

Hmmm... cafe con leche... yep, I'll take some of that.. and throw the papaya to me.. it tastes sweet as cantaloupe but the flesh is softer.

Murdock couldn't proceed with his chemo today as his blood count was too low.

Ex is in Houston, at a VA hospital. He's undergoing 'mitral valve' repair or replacement. He knows about this group of great prayer warriors here, and ask for prayers.

Good news... Ronald's admitted into a nursing home. He'll be having the privelege of daily therapy and dialysis. Thanks for your prayers. Amen Lord.

Gonna try to start on some quilt blocks today.... that will shift my attention to something productive!

Hi everyone......hope all is well.....and Tristan is feeling,and looking better,I am good !!!! Been taking care of momma while my brother was in Jamaica,they are home now.Someday I will go there myself.It's on my Bucket list,it's too beautiful to not.This is Shawn and Denise's 3rd time to go.I booked their first trip when Shawn was still in Iraq a year and a half ago,and they got married down there on Jan. 1st of last year.And now have been back twice,this time they took they kids.Truthfully Shawn would like to buy some land there and have a seasonal home.
Well my grass in yard is dead...flowers are looking very sad.The weeds are starting to die,that's pretty bad.It's not been hot at all,yesterday I wore a jacket half of the day.We had a high of 74 degrees and the nights have been in the 50's.But I have just been trying to enjoy the fact I can be outside,hate to set in the house on the computer,I do get on late at night,but you all are sleping like babies.Winter will be here quick,already the middle of July,I just can't believe it.Seems like these sunny days go by so fast and those snowy ones last forever.But I do think of and miss you all daily.
Cody and I seem to be missing each other on the phone calls...LOL.I should be cleaning house......but boy is that a job I hate in the summer,well any season,but the most in the summer....LOL.I need a maid !!!!! Maybe I'll put that on my Bucket list to.

Alright, I went to WalMart at lunch to get some knee high nylons, the box says, "Adult Knee High One Size Fits All" These things barely go above my ankles! gggrrrrrr

Just dropping in to send prayers for Murdock, Tristen and Megan. Sounds like we all could use some too. Pretty quiet up here in the NE but at least it is finally sunny.

the wedding is the 5th of Sept labor day weekend..the baskets are made and now maggidew and I are looking for 2 1/2 in pots (measurement on bottom) to go inside of them with some plants we had ordered some but they were not the size it said they were but maggi said she can sue them anyway.
Last Saturday I went over and we put together the 17 hanging baskets with angel wing begonias and coleus so hopefully with the "recipe" they will fill in and look nice.
Shelly ordered her dress fomr a gal in TN and it was suppsoe to be sent out the tues after th 4th but she didnt get it done so hopefully she wil ahve it done soon and sent to me so we can check and see if I need to hem it or alter it in anyway.
The 2 nieces up in Urbana Illinois have still yet to get their dresses the oldest one says procrastination is an art form ...I'm gonna show her an art form if she doesn't do something soon as I also sent them info for a flight from Champaign to Dallas for 150 one way then they could drive back wtih my folks and they have not booked that yet either.
not to mention I gave my son info for a train round trip for 435 form Bloomington Il to Longview
it's times like this I wish I had money to spare then I could make the reservations so they are booked and secured then they could pay be back as they had it......oh well

other then that we cleaned the pond this morning so all the string algae is gone and when I filled it back up I added some peroxide to the water as it does the same as barley straw ...RJ who lives in Houston dmailed me on it and said that is what he uses and it works great and his fish and plants love it so we will see who it does on keep things clear.


Now I have to go tend my farm on facebook LOL...yes is addicting and anyone looking for a neighbor I am Phyllis Schafroth Hackman on facebook...LOL

oh and by the way monday I had the rest of my top teeth taken and the denture put in and last night we went to eat Italian and it is going well just have to get used to having this in my mouth ...took pain med twice Monday but nothing since

If this were my pc I would be on it more often. I keep trying to save money to get me a new monitor but, I keep getting other big bills like.......speeding ticket,lol $211 plus $270 for traffic school on Sat and Sun from 8am - 4pm :( You can bet I'm watching my speed now LOL. It looks like it will be Sept before I can get my own monitor :(

LOL, I couldn't help but laugh. I'm not laughing now, dang it!!! This make the 2nd speeding ticket I've ever got in my life. The first time was when my daughter was 2, 32 years ago!!! She wanted me to go fast down the hill to make her tummy feel funny. Know what I'm talking about how when you go over hills and your stomache gets that funny sensation. Boy I sure watch the roads now, lol.

Jaye--I do not have a nursery--I work for Sign-A-Rama - a sign company that has franchises all over the world. This is the second Sign-A-Rama franchise I have worked for so I know their procedure! I have close to 20 yrs experience in the sign industry and I do enjoy it, especially since the major responsibility besides managing it - I do all the designing! I may be able to get my hours down to 9 hrs a day soon which will leave me a little more gardening time. I need to do another feeding of all my plants again soon--it's been 3 weeks.

Well--off to fix some dinner, get a shower and get into bed. 4 am comes early!!

Had a good supper today at Logan. Going back to healthy eating. Think I'm motivated by what Trisha's doing. Had grilled salmon with romaine lettuce.
Kel in the meantime, had not changed his dietary routine. Still bread, potatoes, fried stuffs... I don't nag at him anymore. He will have to change his eating habits on his own. This time, I'm sticking to what I should be eating.. Lord help me!
For lunch it was catfish stew. No rice. Just veges on the side. Refused to give in to Kel's high carbo lunch.. and he bought 2 cans of Spaghetti and meatballs. That man of mine had been a bachelor for farrrrrrrrr tooo long!!!

Oh Cindy that Sucks!! Why aren't you doing an on line traffic school, they don't cost more than $40.00 and it's the same certificate, plus a lot of them mail the certificate directly to the court so you don't have to mess with it. I took one in CA and it's still online, had cartoons and all. Let me know if you want me to find the website.
I just did it, got speeding ticket 20mph over the speed limit, $123.00 and $19.95 traffic school + $5.00 mailing fee.

Boy ain't that the truth Jaye. CA's in a major hole right now and need more than a few front loaders to dig themselves out. Of course it's the most populated state in the nation, so it's going to take the hardest hits in a slow economy and be the bustling in a high economy.

Ok, just found out my yellow squash plant has squash bugs all over it. Dave happened to call and I told him, he said go out and spray it, he said there are two jugs, one is empty and the other has about 1/4 left, so I grabbed the one that had 1/4 left and sprayed it. Then I saw all of this weed spray and now I'm worried if it was insecticide or weed spray.

Oh poor you Crissy. Can't you run out and rinse them off now? Don't know whether that would help, but you need to get a bottle of Safer's Insecticidal Spray.

When I was on the phone with him he said the pump bottles, so if it's weed killer then I just won't have any squashes. He should know what's in those, and it had exactly 1/4 of a bottle left. It's one of those generic pump spray bottles that you can put anything in, and the other one was empty. I wonder if Lowes has any yellow squash plants on sale :) Actually I do have some seeds I think, I could just start another one inside so it wouldn't know the difference. It's just one plant anyway.

Crissy, I don't think I can do it online because they sent me paper stating what I had to pay. They did say I could pay it online, though. But yea let me know the website. I did do a online thing for going through a stop sign about 11 years ago. I know, I know, ya all thinking I shouldn't be driving,lol. Speeding and stop signs,lol.

Well, it's LK's knee surgery tomorrow.. she'll be under the knife for sure. Sistah, we'll pray all will go well and you'll be hopping in no time!

A repeat of yesterday.....when I woke up this morning Bill tells me that " Mom is already out in the yard". I asked him what she was doing and he said "something involving gloves and dirt"......we spent the morning laying another 50 retaining blocks....we now have all the beds lined and it looks pretty good.

Ran errands all afternoon.....got Water Lettuce and Fairy Moss for the pond. The fish really like it....I may have to get some more on payday.

Spent a good part of tonight, and looks like part of tomorrow, helping Sage.....she wants to make a Bride and Groom Mouse to give her uncle and his fiance for their wedding this weekend....she is so much fun.

We did get a bit of good news today. Doris' daughter told us they have hired a woman who specializes in Estate Sales to deal with what the family doesn't take. Mom is so relieved... she was so afraid they were going to ask us to do the sale (we have done sales for people in the past) and in this instance she really did not want to do it....it would have been too difficult both physically and emotionally. I am hoping mom can relax and get some rest now...she has really been taking this hard and I worry about her.

Going to call it a night....Sage and I have a lot to do to get her projects finished up tomorrow.

This is the walkway we did yesterday.....there are two loose pavers on the far end, extras mom found tonight, I promised to install those tomorrow. At least I don't have to worry about her tripping on stepping stones and lava rock now.
