۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞152
I'm home !!! Yeah !!!!!
I'm so tired... and have a tummy ache this morning... probably because I just got way off my routine for too long. It'll pass just as soon as I get back to my regular daily "stuff"....
I haven't read everything here... I'm so way behind... sorry sistahs.
But I do have to tell you one piece of excitement that happened to us this week. Monday, we arrived in Denver around noon. Had the whole rest of the day to ourselves, and decided to drive up into the mountains and visit some of the vineyards and wineries. Well, we drove for about 2 hours, and realized we were no where near getting there yet... so, about Vale, Co. we decided to scratch that idea, and stopped to eat dinner then drive back to Denver. On the way back we hit a deer crossing the interstate. The deer died, and the suburban was pretty messed up on the passenger side bumper and headlight. We counted our blessings that Hertz didn't put us in any smaller a vehicle because that deer would have come across the hood, and right into the wind sheild... as it stands, we were not hurt... just shook up pretty badly. Neither of us had ever hit anything bigger than a armadillo before.
I have to commend the Colorado law enforcement though... 2 county deputies, and 2 state troopers were there with in minutes... and all of them were very concerned about Don and me... they almost insisted that they should call an ambulance to just check us out. We declined because we were fine, and we knew it... but the officers were overly concerned.
Praying for all needs. may God be with them all be a comfort.
praying for lk's surgery, and Murdock, all the needs.
thinking of you all, many blessings be well, safe.
Deborah, it is ok to laugh ^_^. I admitted that I have a lead foot, LOL. But dang I'm not laughing at the bill and having to sit in a classroom from 8am-4pm on a Sat and Sun. I have until Sept 24 to take care of this, so I'm waiting until I get things done around here then will pay and sit :(

Put dow the two remaining pavers for mom this morning....then she decided we needed to move the Cedar rounds from the neighbors yard, maintenance cut down an ailing cedar and I told them we would take the rounds to use as garden items and firewood......well..we rolled the dolly over, rolled two rounds up to it and I tilted them on. I did something very wrong.....DH is NOT going to be happy...I have pulled something in my right side and can barely walk right now.....looks like I am making a large pitcher of tea and spending the day on the patio watching birds and fish unless this improves soon.....at least I can plug in t he computer out there. Headed for the Aleve Bottle...talk to you all later.

Hello ladies!
Don't have too much energy today for anything. We returned early this morning, and all I can do is veg.
Trisha, your mother is certainly lucky to have you. She must be the original go-getter in your family. Wants something done, she won't wait for help :( Glad she has a very conscientous daughter. Sorry though it costs you a pulled muscle.
Would you like me to send you more Aleve? Pretty sure, before you're completely healed you're off to tackle another physical project!
Please post pictures of Sage's project when she's through! Me so proud of her too.
Welcome home BJ! After reading your posting, I am glad our prayers for a safe trip for you were answered!
In 1984, one night while driving home (was living in Ville Platte, La) .. a deer ran across a field and hit our station wagon. It was a 9 point buck! That buck totalled the wagon, caving the front hood and the left side. Thank God, it didn't dove through the windshield. Ex was in the passenger seat, and while I froze, he was calm, asked me to move aside, got in the driver's seat, and checked whether it was still drivable.
He wanted to haul the buck in the back of the station wagon!!!! There I was all shook up, and he could only think of the venison! I insisted we go home right away, and it's only 2 more miles away. Well.... when we got home, he took the truck and head back to the scene.
When he got there, there were 2 men, hauling off the buck in the back of their pick up truck.
It wasn't the loss of the station wagon that upset him, it's the meat.
Hi Susan! Welcome! Wow!! We do have a lot in common!! Can't believe you love the People series. Mist is not new, it's a wonderful mystery novel. Their latest book is People of the Thunder.
If you like, I can loan you my copy.
It seems like a losing battle to eat healthy when Kel (my DH) LOVES to eat!!
Stick around Susan..you'll meet more wonderful sistahs, and pretty soon, you'll be addressing us by our names.
Hey Deborah. You must have the pc to yourself these couple of days! Have you talked to Donna lately (Gapeahen)? Wonder how she's doing.
BTW, I love your dress for the wedding. So elegant.
Hi Twyla. You have some rest today.. take care of yourself too ;)
Have fun playing in the dirt Phyllis. Can anyone do a rain dance here?
Well, thanks for the offer of the loan of the book. However, if you notice, I'm in Canuck country, and it takes Forever for anything to move across the border nowadays....
We are talking about the same People series aren't we? People of the Owl, etc - First Nations type of thingie?!
Yep, I was pretty surprise that Mist turns out to be a great 'whodunnit'.
Only ones I don't have, are People of the Mask, The Sea, The Lightning and The Fire.... will be ordering that online soon!
People of the Thunder is the second part of People of the Weeping Eye.
People of the Owl certainly has a sad ending. My favorite is P.O Ther River.
Now I got Kel interested too and he wants to order Children of the Dawnlawn. He loves the archaelogical history in these books.
This is the authors' website Susan.
http://www.gear-gear.com/
Again, thank you Sistah Judy for enriching my mind.
Ancient history always begins with "Makatok"...
I have People of the Fire - it was one of the first I read. Wonderful series!
Hi!
Welcome home BJ, man, I am glad you are all right. My mom hit a deer while driving in a van and it was totaled!
Waiving hello and Welcome Susan! Yep you are thinking of the right Peoples series. I got started with Peoples of the Mask, at the time it was the last in the series, but i was hooked. Now i am waiting for the latest People of the Thunder, it was available in hardcover but I am waiting for paperback. I've read all of them, but only own 10, had 11 but loaned PO Mask to someone and they "lost" it!
Well, i have been busy, in and out...flitting all around, not concentrating on anything in particular. I am however, enjoying this weather today...Deborah, I have been watching my little hummingbird do his rounds, Yesterday he discovred my hosta right off the deck! OMG and me with no camera,,grrr.
Oh Phylis, sounds like the gardens are coming along beautifully.
Cindy, omg...big bummer on the paying the price to be a lead foot...lol, I had to giggle over your story on the first ticket, ahhh the things you do for children.
Oh...Jaye, I will definatley give Liz an Armwrap for you! My gosh you read fast! lol it took me many years to get through the series and you have already read 10, lol amazing!! Hey sistah, was smiling big, got to use my apron...created a lasagna for dinner last night!
Now...I hope you and Kel are getting your proper rest. You give eachother a big Armwrap for me.
OK, so Skittles is doing well, lol not too spoiled. LOL loves to hang around the screening and does somersaults, oh so much fun to watch. I am in the midst of teaching her to make music on the chimes, so far she is just enjoying chewing them...And she has learned very quickly to know the word Grape...her favorite treat.
oops got to run...see you in bit.
Hehehehe.. Judy, did you notice what Kel wanted me to order? Yep..
a book written for juveniles. That Kel is still a kid!!
When I'm through with Thunder, I'll loan you the book.
Actually, I'm catching up on bible study right now :D
Cindy, what's wrong with a CA stop???? LOL I'll get you that info if it's not storming when I get home. About every 18 months I get a speeding ticket, always have and been driving now for 20 years now. I end up taking some traffic school thing every time. They might make you sit in the classroom cause it's been so long since you've done it.
Just skimming here...
BJ glad you made it home safely, less the deer issue. Can't wait to get more from your vacation.
Yay Susan!! The funny thing about this gardening thing is I've only been doing it for a little over a year, we own a lawn care/handyman business.
Well, I can't work anymore. I've been looking at these number entirely too long and they're jumping all over the paper. My eyes hurt! LOL
WOW...where did everyone go??
LOL, Jaye That would be awsom!
Crissy, sometimes it's just good to have a break, glad you did.
So it rained here today, was glad for it and now it's nice cool evening.
Just hanging out with Skittles all afternoon, lol...she just loves doing these flips, anything for a Grape!!
I"m still around had to go clean up....Doug decided we needed to go get another load so we did and then I laid down and fell asleep and he went and unloaded it around the roses so when I got up I spread it around better ...lol
Good night Cody.....sweet dreams.....
I'm up!!! And everyone's in bed!
Went to bed at 8, immediately when we got home. Body was aching all over, and told Kel I'll just rest in bed. Well.. I fell asleep right away.
Someone did do the rain dance! It rained!! Sending you some Phyllis.
Judy, Skittles is so pretty, and smarter than some men I used to date!!!
Aww Cody.. thank you in advance. Hope I'm home when he gets here.
Pretty sure LK's surgery went well. Wonder if she watched the procedure on a monitor.
Now LK, make sure you keep that leg elevated, use crutches and don't exercise your foot on Todd :D
Wising you a speedy recovery sistah!
You too Trisha. Take it easy today, pulled muscles will take more than a day to heal!
3 hours from now, we'll be bringing Murdock to a hospital, to check his blood platelet count. If it's increased, I'm pretty sure he'll be given chemo right away.
Coffee's on automatic timer to start at 6.
Fresh fruits in the fridge.. slices of whole grain bread waiting for y'all along with an array of fruit jellies.
You all have a fantastic day.
Had some time to scrounge around for a new breakfast recipe. Found this.. looks easy.

Preheat the oven to 325°. Remove the plastic wrap covering before baking. Bake 55 to 60 minutes, uncovered. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
Once upon a time, Creme Brulee would bring me down to my knees, especially my late mother's custard.
But now, being a diabetic, I have to avoid it like a plague. But that doesn't mean the rest of you can't try this delicious breakfast recipe.
I'd omit the liquer.
Creme Brulee French Toast
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 7 slices French Bread, 1-inch thick
- 5 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups half and half
- 1 teaspoon Grand Marnier or Cointreau
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
In a small saucepan, combine melted butter, brown sugar and corn syrup. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour into baking dish.
Arrange bread slices in baking dish without overlapping.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, half and half, orange liqueur and vanilla. Pour over the bread slices. Cover baking dish and refrigerate at least 8 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake uncovered 40-45 minutes until lightly browned.
To serve, invert pieces onto a plate to allow caramel to be on top.
And how about this easy as pear-- Spiced Pears for those that want some fruits for breakfast.
Ingredients:
1 can (16 ounces) pear halves
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
Drain pears, reserving syrup; set the pears aside. In a small saucepan, combine the syrup, brown sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add pears and simmer for about 5 minutes more or until heated through. Yield: 4 servings.
Wooops.. better get dressed.. start of morning devotions.. boy am I early!!
Again, wishing you all a great day today.
Morning everyone!
BJ, so glad to hear your home! Also very glad to hear your not hurt!
Well, I am home. My surgery was supposed to be at 8:00am yesterday morning, but he Dr. was late getting to the hopstial, so we had to sit there and wait for the first person in line to have her shoulder surgery, then fianally at 1:15, they took me back for mine! Once she opened my knee, to fix the miniscus tear, she found a bunch of other things wrong. So I will be on crutches for a few weeks, instead of a few days! Geesh. I can never get a break! LOL All the pain meds made me really sick for most of last night, but so far this morning I am doing OK.
Susan, are you up in canada, near Betty Pause? I think that is where I have seen you here? Welcome to the group!
I will try to go back and catch up on what I missed later.
You all be good.
Linda Kay
Glad to see you home Linda. Please take it slow and easy. Pain meds are good but I know I overdo when I take them. Please be careful!!! Prayers for a great recovery. Barb
oh Linda - DO be careful. It sounds painful! I'm saying prayers for you.
No, I'm nowhere near Bettypauze. She's in Ontario, above NY, and I'm in Alberta, above Montana - 1/2 a country away :-)
Could someone say prayers for a relationship I'm having with a co-worker? She's been "not talking" to me for about 7 months, and I finally got up the courage to speak to her privately, and appologized for any misunderstanding we've had, and told her I know I'm a little intense and perhaps my talking annoys her........she really "talked me down" at that point, but she's at least saying "good morning" to me now. I only hope our Friendly Professionalism holds....
I don't expect to be her friend, but we have a cubicle divider wall between us, and can't help but see each other constantly.
Morning peeps...
I sure feel better today... I think I just suffered exhaustion yesterday... I'm not a very good traveler, it seems.
So good to know that you have that surgery over with LK... now, let the healing begin... keeping you in my prayers.
Jaye... what are you doing that makes you start your day so early? Sheesh... 4am?
Don's back to work today... after 10 days off... hehehe, he's afraid he's forgotten how to do his job...
I did absolutely NOTHING yesterday, so I have some catching up to do today... looks like threatening rain, but as soon as that passes... I'll be outside.
Just popping in on lunch
Yesterday I meant to check in but Max and I stayed busy all day. we celebrated our anniversary by taking a long bike ride all the way around town on the bike path the city installed. My MIL kept the kids and had dinner on teh grill for us when we got back which was very sweet and unexpected then she kept the kids overnight.
Back to work this morning and running as usual..
BJ Glad to see you made it back home safely..
LK Happy to hear you are home recovering after your surgery .. do take care of your self..
Skittles is sooo cute.. I miss having a bird around the house.. Really makes us mis sgrey Bird..
Jaye thank you for all teh great recipies..
Mistress.. If you see this HELLOO.. Dont let them work you too hard ok.. How is ladybug?
Well I better run lunch is short and I hav a appointment comming in after I get back..
Huggs
Donna
Well, after a nice nap this morning, I am feeling better in the head. Hopefully all those nasty drugs have gone through by now! I know I could not be adrug addict, cause I can't stand being sick my tummy like that!
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.
Susan, Glad you started the conversation with your co worker. That at least sounds like it is heading in the right direction! I will say prayers for her to come through, and let her drop that divider between you two! Maybe you can offer a small token, like bring her some candy or something?
Sounds like everyone is doing well, and staying busy at work...
Jaye, you need to slow down, and get a good nights sleep! We don't need another Sistah, to go missing!
Has anyone heard from Kathy lately?
Stacey, need to hear a hello from you too! We miss you so much!
Cody you have more pretties to show us? Do you still have your birds your raising? How is that going?
And to everyone else I missed, a big HELLO to you too!
LK
Hey Girls
poppin in to check in and say Hi
Prayers goin up for everyone
LK you be a good girl and do as the doc said and take it easy
we had about 1/2 in of rain this morning but the sun is out and shining but not as hot as it has been so far today ...LOL...but of course that can change any time
Morning everyone, thanks for breakfast Jaye.
Pretty much back to normal today, going to try and finish my little corner bed before the weather gets too warm....supposed to be in the 90's here today !
Sean,Sage and Laura left for North Idaho this morning Sean's brothers wedding....pray for a safe trip.
LK glad the surgery is over...wishing a speedy recovery.
Jaye prayers that Murdock can get back on his chemo right away.
BJ I am the same way....no matter how much I enjoy travel I have to take recovery time when I get home....rest up sistah.
Waving to all I have missed, want to get that bed finished before it gets much warmer.
LK - I do bring her stuff like a box of chocolates when she's been "volunteered" by someone to water my plants while I'm away, let her know when there's some lunch left over from meetings, invited her to join the group for my birthday cake, etc.
Once, a Dr. said he'd been given 2 boxes of chocolates and couldn't eat them, I gave her one (she loves chocolates).
I've tried to include her in the "fun" stuff we do around here, like Christmas & New Year's lunches, but she has turned her nose up at them.
I hope all of this is now past, and we can move on.......I don't expect to be her friend, but Friendly Professionalism is just right with me :-))
Well,i guess i won't be taking my son to see the movie after all.She called and cancel saying she has a headache. She is just full of bull crap,i had just talk to her before she call back to cancel. So i called her back and told her not to ever do that again,to ask us to go somewhere with her and then call and back out, that burns my butt more then anything, knowing that my son knew we were going.I hate when people say i have a headache just to get out of something. The way i look at it is tell me the truth.
