۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞152
Good Sunday ladies!
Sunday's breakfast laid out. Buttered toasts, muffins, breakfast sausage, and for those on weight management, some granola bars.
Coffee's ready too.
Kinda crashed last night. Sorry Cody and Trisha, I fell asleep on y'all.
Crissy, I think the plant you see along the highway might be an oleander. Oleanders have large flowers that look like plumerias and the leaves are elongated. But they are more inclined to survive our winters.
Still wondering here if most of our missing sistahs are okay.
Bonnie .. I do hope you are seeing a doctor for your headaches.
Tina in MB, hope you are doing well.
Kim, hope your work hasn't driven you crazy yet with rude motorists.
Countrymom... wonder how you've been.. Cindy.. any news on her?
Sis Kathy.. please pop in once in a while. Let us know how you and Mike are doing.
Have a blessed Sunday ladies. See you all when we return from church.
Cookie, the get together isn't till next year, so quit making your caramels for a while, and say hello!
Morning everyone!
Jaye your up early!
Thanks for the breakfast and coffee.
Wishing for all of our missing Sistah's to pop in just to say hello! let us know your doing OK.
LK
WOW is it humid out there today. Just did a little watering and decided I was going to stay in the rest of the day. Have shrubbery to trim and branches to cut , but it can sure wait now. In fact I think the shrubbery can wait until Fall now. I hate to trim shrubs in the heat of the summer, but I still have 3 clients that want it done now, so we'll start on that this week. What the customer wants, the customer gets.
Stay cool everyone. Marilyn you should just go sit in the pool with an iced tea until you turn into a prune. :0) Might prevent a heatstroke.
Checking in later,
Juanita
Nope, nothing like an Oleander. They have Oleanders all over CA in the middle of the freeways in strips and that's not it. I haven't seen one Oleander back here, I hate those things. One of the plants is a Hibiscus, the other I have no idea, and it's the other that I like so much, the hibiscus is neat too though.
We're under a heat advisory until 7pm on the 14th!! Marilyn do you have someone else's house you can stay at?
LOL Juanita!
I knew there was a reason why I didn't want to retire south like some of my friends. We have temps in the 70's, nice breeze and the sun is shining. should make it maybe to 80 but no higher and no humidity. Sorry, shouldn't brag, but
I LOVE MICHIGAN! I know, winters can be bad but this is really nice.
hey girls ...have no idea what the temp is or if there is a heat advisory or not been out weeding though and came in for a break.
Went to Maggi's yesterday ...her DH is Kenboy on the brug forum...he runs a small nursery and we got the hanging baskets done for the wedding so hopefully the angle wing begonias and coleus will be filled out and maybe blooming by then ...pray pray pray ...lol the pots we ordered form ebay the lil ones were really lil so now we have to find different ones to use in the lace baskets ugh
I don't ask for much as I knwo others are in greater need then I but if y'all could just say a lil prayer in regards to this step son issue at my house DH has moved the "deadline" now til the first of September for him paying for the car and insurance and who knows on the furniture and personal belongings still here...I tried to be nice in asking for a clarification this morning on things so I had an idea of what was goin on and he got real pissy with me so I went outside to work on things. It's almost all I can do to not say anything else as he always made sure to put in his feelings when it came to my two younger kids...which my son is doing well back in Illinois working for my X and such and has all his "business" cleared up and gone ...so ti is all I can do to not say something in regards to my 20 yr old being responsible versus his 32 yr old ....
mmm gotta go do something to keep busy now ...LOL
Everyone stay cool if it hot there and those with rain and cooler temps...like MI hahaha send some this way please
Good Sunday Sistas
Well today is my last day on vacation and I go back to work bright and early tomorrow.. Im almost looking forward to going back .. lol I need the break.. This week has been so busy I just dont know how I got anything done at all. It rained most of the day yesterday so it was spent inside and I re-arranged the furniture but now have a mess to clean up today of laundry and dusting...
Tristens Poison ivy is doing much better and all teh epsom baths dried it out fast so that was a bonus..
Phyllis I will keep your step son in our thoughts.. I have friends down south who are abut the same.. Never really did get their act togther until it was almost too late..
On the german sheppard discussion I have to say I love them and have been owned by a few growing up.. They are very loyal dogs and make a great family dog. I was actually looking for one when Max got me Bella for Valentines Day. Now even though she can be a pain Im a Doberman Lover for all times..
Supposed to be anice day today so I guess I beter get running.. Maybe I can ge a pic of those wonderful Hostas my neighbor gave me.. lol Im gonna have one huge mass of hostas next year!
Huggs
Donna
I weeded too. At 10:30 saw the sun go behind some clouds, looked at satellite on accuweather.com and saw I had about 30 minutes before the sun came back out again. Went out and dug the whole bed along the fence. I'll take pics later after I cool down, I ended up being out there for 1 1/2 hours! Just got out of the shower and going to fix BLT's for lunch. Then later this afternoon I'm going next door for a bbq cookout YUM!
That would be nice, but I can barely handle the winters here and I like long summers too :)
Wow Crissy sounda like you got some work done..
I need to re-count Tristens recovery.. Poor thing she just ran down and said mom my face feels funny.. She has been scratching the poison ivy and then rubbed her face.. Now her lip is swollen and she looks like she got into a fist fight.. So back to teh epsom salt bath she went for one more good soak and then Im going to cover her in lotion again.. I guess she can play casper again.. Uggghhhh I HATE POISON IVY!
To top it all off I ran out of soap for laundry and need to do all her sheets again! Heck I still have my clothes and the ones I picked up from a huge clothing give away to wash..
Looks like my day is never gonna end..
BBL
Poor Tristen! Dave gets poison Ivy bad too, except he's too stubborn to put anything on it, or soak in anything.
I did get a lot done. I told Dave about my hard work and he lets me know that he put round up on them yesterday, so now I'm worried about my plants cause he doesn't watch what he's doing, and I have a lot of plants in there, plus I found small plants under the weeds. I had a hibiscus coming up in front of the house and it was surrounded by zennias, he pulled the hibiscus out because it looked different. He told me last year to put at tag next to the plant, if there's a tag he'll see it and leave it alone. I put a big tag in front of it, he pulled the tag and everything, left the tag laying on the walkway.
Thunder storms during the night and RAIN and in the 60's today....we only did about 15 miles, and as far as I am concerned that was 15 too many! Just going t curl up under my blanket and watch Baseball and Bicycle Races.
Prayers going out to all in need........
Will check back in after we get warmed up and rested up.
Hi all.
Jaye,i understand i didn't stay on much longer after that.
Oh Crissy... MEN!!! Sounds like grounds for divorce. :0) Fortunately I don't have to worry about that since my DH doesn't do anything except play golf. His theory being that he is married to a landscaper so why should he do that kind of stuff. Gotta love the logic even if it bites!
Juanita
Juanita, you're going to crack up, we have a lawn care business.
Trisha, sounds like you had a busy day.I wish i had some of the weather here.It is going to be in the 100's again for the high.Still hardly no rain for us.I guess it has too many pit stops to make before it reaches us.LOL!!!!
Good night.....sleep well.....
Sorry Cody, this is the first real rain we have had in weeks....we could use some more...but I am ready for more Warm....don't like gray and damp in the summertime...
Have a good night.
ROTFLMAO Crissy....you have got to be kidding/!?! That is too funny. :0))) Oh well...
Juanita
mmmm yum, toaster strudels ...thanks LK
well of to the dentist I go will check in later depending on how I feel afterwords
Everyone have a great day
Good luck Phyllis!
Let us know how it goes.
Hubby is back to work this morning, after 1 month off! He is feeling much better, but you have heard that expression, "Iron in my blood turned to lead in my butt". Well, that has some truth to it. When you lose blood, it takes all the iron too, so he has been really tired, but on iron pills. Dr. said it will just take time for him to get better! So we will see how he gets through his first day back at work.
Let me put in a words about poison ivy here. My boys used to get it bad every year at day camp. I would send them to the local swimming pool every day to swim. The chlorine in the water drys up the poison ivy better than anything I have ever used and the kids loved the "treatment".
Good Morning Everyone!!
Huh, I just need a pool, oh, and a place to put it would be good also!
DDS Phyllis, at least your getting in early.
I haven't had toaster strudels in ages!
Morning everyone.
Thanks for the morning call, LK. You're a gem you know ^_^
Phyllis, I pray the Lord leads your step son to doing the right thing, and above all, your DH the WISDOM to know what's good for him.
Donna, sorry to read Tristen caught poison ivy. Janice, next time I catch it, I'll look for a pool. Last time wasn't fun.. I think I was a walking white zombie with calomine, liquid benadryl and my tummy was a mini drug store!!
Too funny Crissy!!!!! Men!!! Kel sometimes rode on that "S" train too!! I told him to please trim the lower branches off the Cypress tree, so that the cats can easily lie underneath... he trimmed them where HE can squat underneath!! Sigh..
Juanita, maybe it's a blessing that your DH doesn't help you in your garden. Who knows, he might have to accompany Dave on that "S" train!!
Hi Cody! Are your daylilies still blooming? There are only 3 that are doing that here, and fortunately, the rest are all rebloomers. My white spider lilies just start blooming, and I do have an old time belladonna that just blooms!
Hope you have a good day with Alex.
Hi Trisha..you want warmth? Come on down..hitting the low 90's. It's miserable with mosquitoes trying to feed off you!!
Poor Marilyn, at least I have the comfort of staying in the cool house.
Got your dmail, sistah ;)
Kinda feverish today, started from last night when we got home, after a long day of 'unplanned' events.
So, gonna sleep this off..
Cassie's Curls first flush this year. This is a very small brug.. it's only 2 ft. tall. Couldn't propogate it last year, feeling sorry for it's tiny size.
Have a wonderful day ladies!
Morning Jaye. Thanks for the pretties, love the brug, and the little fairy! Wonder why some grow tall, and others stay short?
LK
Hi Jaye,i have a few that are still blooming. It has been so hot with no rain until it is unreal.Their is some stuff blooming but not much.
Morning Cody. How are you doing, spending all that time with Alex?
Make sure you give him a hug from all of us.
LK

hehehehe....
Sistah LK, I am glad Todd went back to work!!! He has certainly 'overworked' your memory tank!! There's no way Cody could give Max a hug.. he's in Ohio!!!! Well, I'm sure you meant, Alex, her son?
Yah, Cassie's Curls is one that will stay small. It's perfectly bred for small gardens.
Lemon Twist stays a manageable size too. Love these brave little bruggies!
Serendipity has already given me 2 flushes. Didn't take any photos.
Say LK, if you need me to shop for you, let me know. I'll be more than happy to spend a few hours at the quilting stores for you!
It drizzles for a bit here, Cody. Kel had to interrupt my sleep to tell me not to water the plants :D He was being thoughtful.. I think I hear Crissy snickering!
Yeah.. I would have noticed it when I step outside anyway, right?
Might as well do some chores!
OOOPS! I did mean to say Alex, not Max. So sorry!
I am all set for fabric for now. I just need to plan my shopping trips for when I go to San Antonio, or San Angelo.
No pictures! How could you? LOL
Maybe next time?
Jaye how is everyone doing?
LK
Same thing on the poison ivy here. When I would get it as a kid my Grandma would take a cotton ball with diluted bleach solution and dab away. It always worked.
I gotta get me some baby brugs! Some of these monsters I have will have to be pruned big time to get them in this Fall.
Had a lovely morning waiting for the fridge guy to get here. He finally shows up at 11AM. Unpacks the new door and hinges and doesn't have the right parts. This is the second time they have been here to fix this new fridge. Still not fixed. Coming back Friday to try again. All could have been avoided had the installers put the doors on right. ARGHH!
Juanita
Afternoon everyone......still cool and cloudy, but high pressure is coming in so it is supposed to start warming up later today....they say.....but for now it is only 60 degrees.
I am without my car for the day....it is in the shop getting Tie Rods replaced and my stuck electric window repaired....got snow in the electrics during the winter and shorted it out with the window down:( Sure will be nice to open and close the window again, we have had a piece of acrylic taped in to keep out the wind and rain.
Chiropractor appointment this afternoon...sure hope Andy can do me some good.
Need to get a few things done, talk to you all later......
Okay LK, how about last year's pic of Serendipity? I love the color..
It's been a tiring road for us, LK. Murdock will be on his 3rd chemo this week.
His uncle Ronald is starting dialysis, 3 days a week. Supposedly to be admitted into a nursing home this week. We are hoping they'd approve, as he truly needs daily therapy.
That's one thing I'd love for Kel to see, Trisha.. a chiropractor. He sure needs a spinal adjustment. I had help from one years ago.
Juanita.. we are seeing more uncaring service people lately. Especially with the big box stores. Most of them just work for a paycheck.. no pride at all.
Oh Jaye, she is so pretty! Wish I could stick my nose in her, and take a big whiff??? LOL Guess you will have to do that for me!
Glad to hear they are on the mend! Will continue saying prayers for them.
What would we do with out our chiropractors. I see mine every 2 to 4 weeks! At $35.00 per visit, that is not bad, for a back, and neck I can live with!
Trisha, send some of that cool weather this way please? I'll send you some of this heat! It is 97 right now, and supposed to get up to 103, all of this week!
Off to the pool for a dip, then I will make a fresh pitcher of iced lemon tea.
Later
LK
Lovely Brugs!!!
Linda I wanna take a dip too LOL
got home from the dentist played a lil on the computer took a vicadion and laied down and just got up ...note to any facebook farmtown players don't plant raspberries unless you know you will be in on 2 hours after planting they go to waste real fast rofl
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!Wake up LK......I'm doing good i took alex to get his pictures made today.I will give alex a hug for all of you.He likes to run up to me and hug my leg and tell me he loves me.Well i will be back on later.
Oh Cody... what was he wearing? I bet he got a cute vest on, or a little cowboy hat!!
Phyllis, I gave up on Facebook!!! Can't keep up with my nieces and nephews that are always 'poking' me!!! Lol!
Evening everyone
Will give the pool a shot on thursday while Im off.. Maybe Max can get her over there in the mean time.. I dunno if she doesnt improve more by tomorrow Im leaving work at 5 and taking her to teh doctors.. Her poor stomach is killing her and she actually threw up today but said she felt better after. . She was looking pretty bad when i got home and after a call to th einsurance nurse line they said to take her for a shot of prednisone but they were closed when we got there so I figure tomorrow we will go if no better. Shes all curled up snoozing in the futon couch in her room covered in clamine lotion after her 4th bath of the day.. I hate it when my baby girl is sick I feel so helpless and of course I keep over-reacting Im sure...
Phyllis Im on farm town wanna be my friend? Max is on too but he just killed 200 rasberries while I was at work dealing with Tristen.. always welcome more new friends,,
Just got side tracked for a hour with my BIL showng up and dragging me outside.. ugghhh Will have to catch up later I forgot what I was replying too.. lol
