Won't be on this evening. A wake to attend.
A church sister got into a fatal accident on Friday. She's been married for 50 years, and it was so sad when her husband told us in church, Sunday, that all he got to look forward to now is joining her in heaven. His kids said he'll be lost for a while.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, I am so sorry to hear about the church sister. Yes, he will be lost for a while--comes with the territory. Lucky them to have had 50 years together. Next year (2010) would have been our 50th. Yea ma'am I beez a child bride. ROIFLOL

BJ, you and your sister look just so "worldly" with those accessories! You will never believe how much Kim and I laughed while we were trying to find just the "right" scraves and glasses. Earring were easy!!! Love the picture.

Jaye, I think you are allowed one suitcase for International, one carry on and a purse. However, Kim was told to put her purse in another carry on and then she would have 2. Something like a large canvas bag you might use for shopping. Yes she did just that so she does have a spare bag with her for goodies.

Donna sounds like you and your family had an extremely busy weekend. Also sounds like you really enjoyed it.

Well, off to work on more laundry.

Marilyn Glen st. Mar, FL(Zone 9a)

lol, love the sign in the background Jaye, 'Point of Tempation Acres' lol,,,good backdrop ladies.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I had missed that Marilyn. Perfect back drop indeed!!! Love that "queenly" wave BJ.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... the sign was the thing we wanted in the picture... but I had to take out the part that said "Goats and Honey" and the phone number with my graphics program...
Don had me back up, and go forward several times to get just the right position for the sign... we got giggly when that happened.

Hehehe... thanks Jaye for make me and Jo the poster children for this room... too funny.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Fantastic Picture!!! Know you gals had sooo much fun with that one!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well tell Don he did good!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Who's the "goats" and who's the "honey"?? Lol!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

My condolences Jaye for your church friend. We must all live today the best we can for tomorrow-who knows?
Sounds like everyone had a great holiday. This truly is a remarkable country. We all should cherish our freedoms and respect those who make it possible.
Enjoy your week....Barb
Oh and Jaye, I'm so thankful for what you put at the top of this thread. Thank you and Yes we are still dancin'!!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Pressie, Janice? Really? How come? Did I miss something? What's the occasion?

Thelma and Louise... sheesh...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Jaye, our thoughts and prayers........it so much more difficult to lose someone so unexpectedly.

Yep, do love that picture BJ !

Except for mom's doctors appointment and grocery shopping it has been a rest day...how odd !

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I thought it's gonna be a long evening, but Kel was ready to go, the minute we signed the guest book! He wasn't comfortable at any funerals. But we did stay for a while, get to know the grandkids.

You are right Barb. We got to act and live the best we can today cause tomorrow may not be there.
Hehehe.. keep dancing, sistah!!

Pray tell us more Janice! Me nosey one want to know!! Pressie for BJ.. let me guess... something edible? More of your delicious choccies?

Trisha, I still can't believe M. Jackson passed away. Farrah Fawcett.. that's expected. So when Lynn was called to heaven, we're kinda dumbfounded. The grandkids were talking of their grandma's famous dinners at the funeral home :(

Have a safe trip home Cindy!

Gonna clean up.. clear this mind....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Some eye candy to relax one's mind..
this is a NOID frangipani/plumeria.
Had it for 5 years, first time it blooms! Looks like one of the dwarf Singapore..

No way!!!! Good Lord certainly is the best master gardener.. for a wild foxglove, it looks as though it's a well thought out hybrid.
And what are those white pretties?

We bought a bucket of chicken on the way home. Somehow, when we got home, we're not hungry. Go figure. But the kitties sure enjoy the treat ;)

Look at the moss!! Wonder why that tree's cut down, apparently to let some sunlight through.

We have some part of the property still wooded. Haven't ventured into that area yet, wonder what shade loving vegetation grow in there.

Another early morning tomorrow. So, I'll bid you all a good night and do hope those that have been missing too long will let us know they're okay.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I have no idea what Ratatouille or Polenta are... someone want to explain?

Coushatta, LA

It was good Jaye,we went to Shreveport to take Polly to get his wings Clipped.I couldn't let him out of his cage because he would fly around the house about 5 times before i could catch him.The man that was holding polly while the woman clipped his wings, polly had bit the blood out of him 4 times one on 4 fingers.I kept telling the man i was so sorry.Polly does not like men.He is mad at me right now,but he is setting on my shoulder. He will peck my fingers to let me know he wants to be left alone, but he has never bit the blood out of me,i guess because i'm the one who takes care of him.

This particular tree had fallen across the hiking trail and had been cut up to clear the walking path.

Have a good night and a better tomorrow....

So sorry bout your bird biting like that. My son had a cockatiel for about 5 years. Danny used to hold him while I clipped his wings... and he never bit Danny. BUT... he didn't like me at all. When ever I'd approach him, he'd squawk like I was about to kill him or something. He loved men... all men... and he'd always want to sit on Don's knee... Don hated that bird.

LOL

Coushatta, LA

Thanks,BJ,your son must have had a female if it didn't like you.Polly is a male and he does not like men.So that is why i'm thinking Danny had a female.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Polenta is boiled cornmeal. Sometimes it's precooked into a solid roll form, sliced then boiled or baked. Can even prepare polenta as fluffy somewhat akin to grits. Think it originates in Italy.
Ratatouille is a dish made with fresh veges, always including zucchini, eggplants, tomatoes and onions. Seasoning's Italian too. I love more garlic and some lemon juice for tanginess.

Cody, when I had my budgie.. I clipped Pippin's wings. Not as rebellious as Danny's bird.. nor yours. My gf clipped her cockatiels' too, and they are so docile, you won't believe it.. but then, she blows that hemp smoke into their faces when she's ready to clip them!!

Good night.. don't stay up too late Cody.

Coushatta, LA

GOOD NIGHT JAYE....SLEEP WELL.....I WON'T

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Worst Bird Bite I have ever had was a little Parakeet!!! Would get right in the quick of you fingernail and bite as hard as he could....my parrot never hurt like that little critter did....

That is Polenta..... I cooked up mushrooms, carrots, onion, sliced squash, garlic and and tomato sauce to go over it, with hot loaf of sesame/poppy seed bread!
