My Morning Glory Adventures continued.. July
My stargazer lilies are just done blooming. I love their smell and you can smell them coming up my driveway.
Hmmm, in that pile? I see Monarda (bee balm) and may be some zinnias, not sure if those are zinnia petals or they belong to the monarda. What's the yellow stuff? Yarrow? I am not sure yarrow comes in yellow.
Well, your garden is fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
Carin, Yarrow come in all kinds of colours, I have white, yellow and red. I am trying to locate the lavender one. Went to inspect Tropicmans' Silky blue I gave him, it had put on quite a show, he just didn't get any seeds.
I hope to get seeds from all of mine, but with I. nils u never know
Amazing amount of variety, all in one area! An inspiration for the rest of us.
Beautiful Debra!!
"How am I even in this family"
That made me laugh!!
Debra, loved the night shot of your blue moonflower and company - Do you think it's asking itself "How am I even in this family"? lol
karen
I have buds on one of my japanese MG. I'm so excited - can not wait. I think it's the hanahubuki no murasaki? Can't look at tag cause it's raining outside...
This really pretty one has blizzard pattern similar to the Akatsuki no Mai I am growing this summer. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6793275 I like it a lot!
Thanks... the package says Miko no Mai Sybills Dance,, and looks like the package picture.. I am going to plant some of my Hattie Bell since it produced for me .
pretty. Their bloom size is so impressive.
Thanks. I thought leaves look like Marigold but no flower so it's hard to tell. My neighbor has the giant Marigold that gets about 4-5ft tall, so I wonder if that might be it.
Debra - Your beautiful blooms here look what I just grew out labeled Hanafubuki. :-) http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6792612
Is the white bloom above a Brugmansia? If so, very pretty!
Nicole - Your vines look so pretty even without blooms! ;-)
Becky, they prolly are yours LOL I have so many plants growing.. I am just gonna show the picstures and you all can tell me what they are LOL
My giant marigolds are not bloomed either...
and that is the first named brug have grown to bloom.. a single blom on MOnster White
Debra, I'm enjoying your blooms and garden pictures! Mine vines are just about done.
Becky... you are right.. they look the same! wouldn't that be cool to find a stick buried in that pot with your Hanafubuki seeds and the BG i put on it. Sybils dance is all over the place, I went thru a whole pack in the winter, and then re-used the dirt.. her leaves look the same .. it doesn't matter that much what the names are right now, just the fact that they are speckled and all.. ;D
Helena time to plant some more ! I loved your blooms! They made me drool!
I have been posting on other threads so thought I would get caught up.. I went on an excursion sunday morning looking for native morning glorys and other native plants.. I couldn't believe how many plants there were in abundance in this state that many many people pay money to have grow in their gardens..
I bet I spent at least 50.00 if not more over the past three years on my monarda collection alone.. and they grow wild in the fields out here.. :P~
I decided to have my yard look more natural by adding native plants a few at a time, and I love it.. someone advised me to dig up a weed out of one of my planters, and on more than one occasion my hubby told me my gardens looked like a weed patch, becuase of the growing cycle prenneils have, he is used to me spending hundreds of dollars on the same kinds of annuals for the flower beds and barrells.. well.. that is over.. everyone needs to get used to it. I collect the seeds from the few annuals I grow and save them for the next year. It works for me.. I still buy seeds, but not the crazy days and trips to the local flower stand like I used to. ...
These are NOT weeds.. but they look like it in the field..
This is Not a weed, I finally got to see her.. a little late tho, I had to leave work at lunch at 10 am just to take this picture..
anywayz, the morning trip was nice... ( sunday morning while everyone was asleep. I am out in the country, snapping pictures, picking up things to examine them, tromping around ground teeming with things that go BUZZZZZZ

I had a tree just right to that corner then, lots of part time shade, it was as old as I was when we Killed it last May.. *sniff* .. so, tropicals do not work.. at least here they don't the object was to make some shade, and these tall prenniels do that for me.. same barrell in sept of 07.. still had the tree .. second year for the back corner garden, the plumbagos and baptisia were in pots.. someone had just given me that little wrought iron chair pot holder..
In 05 we just put the barrels in, and I can't find a picture.. but I have to admit, the other two years were very pretty, my family liked them better because they did not attract bugs the way these do.. and my morning glorys were around the tree, and around poles in pots, and in some areas of the fence around the yard,, now, they are the show pieces.. I miss this view of the old shed, and the little fence thingy, .. now I have an ugly wooden fence to stare at.. and a new flower bed..
