I couldn't believe how many plants there were in abundance in this state that many many people pay money to have grow in their gardens.. I bet I spent at least 50.00 if not more over the past three years on my monarda collection alone.. and they grow wild in the fields out here.. :P~ I decided to have my yard look more natural by adding native plants a few at a time, and I love it.. someone advised me to dig up a weed out of one of my planters, and on more than one occasion my hubby told me my gardens looked like a weed patch, becuase of the growing cycle prenneils have, he is used to me spending hundreds of dollars on the same kinds of annuals for the flower beds and barrells.. well.. that is over.. everyone needs to get used to it. I collect the seeds from the few annuals I grow and save them for the next year. It works for me.. I still buy seeds, but not the crazy days and trips to the local flower stand like I used to. ... These are NOT weeds.. but they look like it in the field.. |
