The Long View 2009 #3
There could have been a complete disaster last night as a gate got left open. I was sure when I let the dogs out at 6 and then saw them running wild through the unfenced part of the yard, I was sure I would find no garden left at all. I rushed out and only saw one bunny who had hopped in and found no damage by deer. Here are a few more of the many many lilies and a few other things that I snapped yesterday that are starting to bloom. Sadly as always we had quite a few lilies eaten in the early spring by rabbits. We are going to redo the lower part of the deer fence in the fall with a major bunny barrier. I will win. Patti
Patti everything looks great!!
You win,I am not accutly aware of enough about DL's to see much difference.

Very nice collage Ge1836.... I have some of the poppies you have in your picture in my big daylily garden... they showed up on their own as volunteers.... they are beautiful and I love the color of the foliage. Funny thing is, I have never had this color before. I have white and lavender pom-pom style ones of the same type but never this hot pink before... I'm not complaining..
I wonder if a color change is due to crosspolination.
There is no way to controle this variety so I just let it go with the same results you got. Pretty no matter what
Very nice GE!
Beautiful, Andy
looks real nice Andy
Now those are what I call long views.
Beautiful
Just lovely Andy! Your clems get more impressive with each passing year!!!
looks great andy!
My efforts to extend the clematis along the fence behind the flower bed are being thwarted. That neighbor 'must' have a pristine lawn, some of his chemicals drift into the flower bed. Herbicides and flowers don't mix.
This flower bed got a major clean up in April, especially along the fence. New day lilies were added to mimic the mature section. There are 4, three year old clematis already growing but you'd never see them in these pics. All stunted along with half the d'lilies.
My property lines changed when the new house went up 4 years ago. This flower bed used to be 8 feet away from the fence. I gained some street frontage, thus the improved Death Valley at the top of the thread.
PS, it's not hard to start new clematis vines. These all came from one plant.
