Stormy, If you ever have a piece of that DL "Carpenter's Shavings" to spare, I'll drive down to get it. Do you like redskin potato salad, with blue cheese, black walnuts, and a chilled pinot grigio? At least a picnic lunch. Ric

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Ric, I've put your name on it! I'm more a Vouvray kind of gal. LOL

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Sparkling Pineau de la Loire ? What with, mango infused salmon, saffron rice, and asparagus tips? Ric

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Sounds good! Course, it goes good with Hot Dogs too!

My mom says, "mit schlag, bitte" is useful in that part of the world.
Stormyla, this American Spirit didn't have much color this year, but the fragrance is really something. And somehow there are two plants now, a couple feet away from each other.

Mit Schlag ist gut! Claypa, I have an American Spirit but either it hasn't bloomed yet, or I missed it, or worse those furry fiends got it. Some of my lilies bloomed and burned up right away. Have you had any rain? It's so dry here, my ground cracked open. No amount of watering is helping

West Pottsgrove, PA(Zone 6b)

No rain for quite some time - weeks ago, I kept seeing storms on the radar maps pounding Ric and Holly's area, and some would make it here and some wouldn't. So yes, I've been watering some things a lot recently. I almost lost a little bonsai azalea ( just a small azalea in a bonsai pot, really) the other day. No rain is one thing, but when the humidity drops like it has been lately it doesn't take long for plants to wilt. I horde rain water in buckets and dip into it with a gallon jug and make the rounds.

A no-name seedling. I think I'll call it Hemerocallis 'Get Off My Lawn"..lol.. for all the garden ladies who kept all the wayward frisbees, baseballs, and boomerangs years ago

She's a beauty! I keep hearing people talking about all of the rain and wonder where they are. I've been hoarding water too.

DL "Night Beacon"

I should say that I did not come up with that seedling in the last post, it's another unnamed Westbourne daylily.

The white pine looks great this time of year, very cool with the different greens

Holly,

The two dark bushes are sand cherry. It is the same color as the smokebush shown here (with the dark purple smoke fading after weeks of beautiful intense color.

I'm in complete lust for Night Beacon too. Boy, is that pretty. That's a mighty nice NOID daylily, Claypa.

Love those lilies, Stormy. I see that bloomingbulb.com has several of the American series lilies if you're looking for more.

I've had a huge patch of common milkweed for about fifteen years ,adn have seen evidence of maybe six cats in all that. Sorry to say it is not earning its keep, total thug that it is.
I walked out yesterday to find this eye popping cluster. Might be Frans Hals.

cornflower blue on perilla purple.
If I recall right from last year, the perilla will lose its good purple as it blooms, and I will rip it all out then. It reseeds like nothing else.

Hey, it worked!
Here are my lilies that opened, They were to be all African Queens (orange) but WFF sent these by mistake, a mix. They did send me another packet free this spring but they have not opened yet.

"Danke" re the Frans Hals. Not everyday it opens four so close together though. I'll tell it to multiply itself post haste ! Actually, Gita may have some, I was pretty sure it came from her.
