Ok Jaye! I told Dave that, he looked at me like I was nuts and said, "You're a goob!"

How fun Cindy!! Looks like you had a blast!!! I love fishing!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Just stopping in to say HI !!!
Trying to get everything wound up for Mike to leave, and we have something planned for every day until that happens.
My life is not my own right now... is this what "normal" is suppose to be?

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

I think this is where Kim got it...there was a flyer in the box w/ the plant... http://www.houseofwesley.com/detail.asp?pid=7017

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That DL is so ethereal.. lovely. Faye, maybe you could start doing a series of watercolor on DLs? Lots of DL lovers here.

Cindy, Lord is certainly an awesome Artist too! Beautiful scenes there. That rainbow may be partial, but you framed it well.
Thank you Cindy for sharing your wonderful vacation with us.. and who get to clean the fish?
I bet you'll return when you get a chance.

Perfectly normal BJ! And be prepared for the dam to burst when it's that time to tell him goodbye. Bet you have already started sniffling.
Just think.. Austria is just a plane trip away!

Crissy... Kel is what I call, a perfect Christian.
One day I heard Kel sharing trade secrets to a certain customer that has a furniture store. I was shocked as I knew the guy was going to sell refurbished appliances too. I thought Kel was losing his mind!
When I confronted him, Kel says.. "Honey, I can't lie.. he asked.. so I answered!"
I rolled my eyes towards heaven and told the Lord it's all up to Him!!
Well Crissy, a few weeks later, the guy returned, telling Kel to keep him in supply!!!! He is now our biggest customer!
So.. I almost sent him to that 'train'!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Hello ladies--I have returned from Orlando--tired and do not want to drive a car any where for atleast ah--12 hours maybe? Got Kim off and now waiting until the 10th of July when I do--getting so excited.

Cindy wonderful pictures!! Sounds like you had a very nice trip and I am so happy you did. Been missing you though.

Hello Susan, nice you are out of the shell for a while. Oh please post the pictures of your bird.

Judy love the little guy and love his name also. Keep us updated.

BJ, me thinks you and Don will be headed to Austria before you know it. It is a fantastic place to visit and the food--oh my!! Pastries ( are unbelievable too) Wait, I want to go when you to decide to go--I can fit into a small er large suitcase? Tell Mike it was a pleasure meeting him and sharing the weekend with all---just don't forget how we taught him to lose a "party crasher".

Waving to all, going to read today's paper and go through my mail then I think it is to bed early. I am so tired of seeing the Interstate stretched out in front of me.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Glad you made it home safe. You must hate the silence in the house. Now turn up an Andrew Lloyd Webber tune.
How long will you stay in Costa Rica?
Have a good rest and sleep well.

Cody, hope your hands are not giving you too much trouble. How did the trip went? Take care sweetie.

LK, how are you doing today? Have you got the results of the MRI yet?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Actually I am playing Les Miz--Susan Boyle got me on that kick again.

I leave the 10th and return the 18th. A friend who works on the festival committee and I are going down --she is into bird watching so this will be fun as I saw enough orchids last time around!! 3 days are planned in the Aranal area also--looking forward to that part of the trip. Kim will join us along the way.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Don't forget to get an extra disk for your digital Maid M.. and batteries!!
Can't wait to read what mischiefs you and your friend will get into!!
Will you be "gliding" again in Costa Rica? Make sure you tether yourself well!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Nope, no zip lining this time--been there done that! Will be trying the warm healing springs at the volcano--Kim said she was submerging both of us up to our necks and see if it helps any. Hoping to do a sky trek (gondola) tour this time so we will be able to see more things and another hike in the Monteverde Rainforest. Have some free time so we can explore more of the little villages this time--especially La Fortuna near Aranal. It is suppose to have a lot of local artisans there--sure hope so.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

OMG!! You are doing stuffs I've never heard before! I'm excited for you! Wonder if they have locally made fabrics there too.

One day, I'd like for Kel to trek in the rainforest of either Malaysia or Indonesia. I know.. it will be a long, long time from now :(

Barb, if you're lurking.. I am so looking forward to the big victory report Sunday on Norm being cancer-free!! PTL!
Yep, this time I'll dance in church!!
Hug him for us will you?

Time for me to get off the pc. Kel says it's his turn!

Been nice chatting tonight. So, goodnight ladies.

Good morning everyone. Thanks for coffee Donna. I am sure you both miss the girls. They'll soon be there.

Cody, glad you popped in. Sorry I wasn't around. Don't overdo yourself by carrying Alex or even Mocha around. Take care sweetie.
Stick to microwaveable food for a while. At least Rob does take outs.

Trisha, that is a Prins Claus gladioulus. I had bought some from a co-op here and NONE came up. You are lucky!!! Don't get rid of it.
http://www.easytogrowbulbs.com/browseproducts/Gladiolus-Prins-Claus.HTML

Rickie, my garden helper, is supposed to be here anytime now to try to do at least a couple of hours' work.. getting plants in the ground and clearing a bed overtaken by blackberries :*(

You all have a fantastic Saturday.. still waiting on news from LK..

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

I knew that ,that was some kind of Gladiolus, but wasn't sure what one.I love it ........

Mornin all....Jaye.....LOL.

Going to try and sneak back to bed,but had to check on everyone first.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Twyla, you know I love you right? Please share with us anything that's on your mind. I do hope your world will eventually get better and there'll be more laughter and news of improving health than troubles.
And if troubles still plague you, share them with us. We are here for you.

Hey Synda! Think I'll get myself an O'Doul's today!!! Lolol.. think that might lighten my spirits? Or a whole pack of Cymbalta?
Rest well Synda. Time for me to get dress!!

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

WOW I lost track of this thread for some reason. You all have been busy.

BJ we always go to New Braunfels when we go to San Antonio. I really like the artist colony there.. Lots to see and do. Glad you liked your card.

Well I better get my day started.

Later,
Juanita

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wow, look at all the pretties, and the vacation pictures, and plans for trips coming up! Love that glad, it is so pretty. I have never seen one like that!

Stacey, where are you at girl? We miss you! Poke your head in and say hello.

We are doing OK, Todd's Dr, did some lab work, and we have to wait on that. He has to do a drug induced stress test next week, and he said Todd will not go back to work until then. He also said he can't have his knee surgery for at least a month, maybe two.
I had my MRI, and am waiting on those results also.
Hope you all have a Blessed Sunday!

LK

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,

Jaye, I cleaned my own fish. Yep, I always do. But I don't eat them. I had leftover scetti' while everyone else ate fish. I have tried many times to eat fish and it just won't go past my lips. I think it is the smell. Today I'm taking a walk around the neighborhood. Going to knock on doors and ask for flower seeds. My cousin says the peolpe here are so friendly that they will probably let me have what I want. Once a month they have neighborhood flower swaps. There are some beautiful flowers here. I saw a white clentis and I swear the flower was at least the size of a salad plate.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Morning all. Oh Cindy I am so laughing at your statement. I eat fish but I don't like to catch them. We would make a good pair indeed.

Jaye, may I have an O'kDouls with you? That is about my speed if it isn't a coke. Nice and cold please.

Donna, you are really up and at 'em early today. Good to see you posting. Yes, you must try zip lining!!!! It is fun but once was enough for me. I want to see things and you go way to fast for much looking around!! At least the one I did in Costa Rica did.

Juanita glad to see you found us again. Hummm, are we going to have to drop crumbs or ladybugs on the ground for you? LOL

Twyla, hang in here with us. Share as we each try to help each other. It sure helps in times of need and then the other times it is the best place for laughter!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Here's a cold, cold O'Doul's Maid M! Got an old adirondack with your name, under this old oak tree. Sit for a spell.
Finally a breeze blowing....

Well, Rickie planted hostas, camellias, durantas........ about 17 pots... and more daylilies that a very kind DGer had mailed to me. He also removed a young pine tree, pulling out.. tap root and all.. with his 4 wheeler. Transferred some camellias that are not doing too well where they were at.
2 hours work. No way Kel can be doing all these for me after work or at weekends.
Truly appreciate Rickie, if not I'll be hauling these pots back to the gh in the winter.. plus more.
He will be returning to make a raise bed for more brugs.. yes Kimmie, I hear you.. no brugs!!
Then he will be clearing a couple beds.. including the one overtaken by blackberries. Didn't have time for that.. got too hot!

Oh my.. Maid M., I know how you feel in getting gardening help!
He even offered to help weed!!

Juanita, in fact we've been moving too slow lately. If not there'll be a new thread every other day.
No ladybugs trail please. We don't want to harm beneficials!!! Jax has been helping herself to Bailey's soaked bread crumbs!!

Dear LK. So, for the pain, has the doctor given you and Todd anything? I hope the next couple months won't be 'hellish' for you.
Let us know what your MRI reads.

Cindy.. you catch, I clean!! Even will cook the fish! When they wriggle, I make sure I whack them first with a pan :D
Learnt young to scale and gut fish fast!

Well enjoy your O'Doul's Maid M. There are more in the ice chest. Got to take a shower and get ready for your Kel's Saturday Shopping!!
And I will be using my RWB shopping bag today!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh I want to go shopping. I by passed all the quilt shops on the way home--was really tired as encountered a lot of road work and delays coming back. When I saw open road, I just traveled!!! I do need to run into town for some basics--bread, milk, fruit--things like that but then back to the cool of the shade and my O'Douls. thank ye, thank ye!!

Yes it sure feels good to finally find someone who is dependable with yard work, reasonable and does as asked. Sure has lifted my spirits about things I am unable to do. Got 2 and 3 opinions on my drain field problem and seems I don't need the expensive fix after all. Can you say more money for plants? Wahoo--happy camper here!!!

Oh do you seriously think I would hurt the ladybugs? ME?????? Nope thought they would be helpful along the way of the new path by eating the aphids if we should encounter any. No, nada, never hurt a ladybug--they are very special!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

What beautiful flowers you're all posting... and Cindy... that fishing trip sounded so fun... I just know it was great for you to get away a while.

Well, that 4th of July party last night was a real extravaganza... I just know that everyone who was anybody in Tyler, TX was there... These people know how to go overboard for a party. 300 people were there... Valet parking... orchestrated fireworks show... they rented the house next door and moved out the furniture to a storage box type thingie, and set up the catered buffet and all the foods in the downstairs part of that house... and their house was crawling with people... sheesh... they had clowns and balloon guys for the kids... they had a party planner that was milling around to make sure everything went smooth.
When we left, Mike asked me if all of our 4th of July parties were so big... I said "NOOOO"... it's usually just a backyard ta do with a few friends who all bring their own fireworks to blow up... that was just way too big of a deal.

And, today we're driving into Dallas with Don. We'll drop Don off at the stadium then Mike and I are spending the afternoon at the mall. We'll meet Don back at the stadium to watch a real professional all American Baseball game... then let Don drive back home...
I do Not like to drive in Dallas... much less to and from Dallas.

Tomorrow is Mikes last day with us... and YES... some tears have already been shed... He's been a perfect first student for us... and will be a hard act to follow for all the rest who pass through our hearts.
This is my favorite picture of Mike since he's been with us... sitting in the bleachers at a track competition with his friends.
This one will be framed and go on our wall with all the other students yet to come our way.

I agree with your choice of pictures BJ. That one just has a certain look that is wonderful--oh I know you are going to miss him. Do tell him we will all miss him and not to forget to return sometime.

Thanks for sharing all the adventures with us during his stay. I feel like I have gotten to know Mike personally even tho I only met him over Memorial Day. He is a true ambassador for his country. Keep us updated on the ones to come.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,

I'm so bad I just spent $75 on the Iris co-op ^_^

I forgot to share some pictures of the Elk farm we visited yesterday. We headed out for a fishing trip. One pond was full and the other place was closed so we came back home. Stopped by this Elk farm. There are only two in thw state od Oregon. Geez, I tried to remember everything Don (Sissy's hubby) told me about them but I've had a brain fart. DANG CRS anyhow. So here are some pix.

Mike, I know you enjoyed your trip here to Texas, and I hope all the memories will be with you for a long time! I really enjoyed meeting you.
Have a wonderful trip back home.

These are the breeders. Come July when the females come in heat these guys get seperated because they will fight until one dies.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

I told him that all of you wish him the best in life as he returns, and that you all enjoyed meeting him (those who came for Mem Day), and the rest enjoyed me telling the tales of his visit.
He said to tell you all... "Thank you so much for making his visit more memorable by including him in your Memorial Day celebration, and for all the gifts that you sent for him to remember how generous Americans really are." ... he also said he would keep in touch through me... so when I do hear from him, I'll let you all know...

And now... it's time to make our trek to Dallas... ugh... for our last BIG CITY day in America.

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

Hi , i lurk and if feel up to it or somehting to say never been talker unless away form home and glowing eyes not to talk.

Marion hope hand is so better now.

Be well safe everyone have a great Sunday.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

We HAVE fish!!! Had to go pick up paint for mom at HD, and go by Church and get Flowers arranged for tonight....and Pet Smart to get dog, cat and bird food....so took in a water sample from the pond....they said good to go so picked up 8 feeders to see how they do! So nice to see little Orange things in the pond. Sage will be happy when she comes over tomorrow, these don't hide as much as the ones in the tubs our back so maybe they won't be so "boring"....

Just wanted to rest this weekend....but I have been Volunteered to help with parking for a big Club Ride at six thirty in the morning....then joy, joy I get to go for a thirty mile ride then come home and get ready to have all the shop employees over for Lizzies Birthday BBQ that I was just told about Last Night....I hope DH and DS realize they just got Volunteered to Clean House!! My back hurts, my stomach doesn't feel that great...I am tired and sore and I am going on strike! There....got that out of the way now think I will get a cold drink and the dog and I are going out and watch the boring fish!!

Have a good day everyone....talk to you later.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That's certainly good news Marion! You'll need the extra money for shopping in Costa Rica.
Nope, no fabrics today. Instead, Kel treated me to more books.. guess he's trying to tell me something!

BJ, I agree with Maid M.. that is a good portrait of Mike. He looks like a young James Spader. Seems he's enjoying himself... no cares in the world..
Would love to follow where this child's life will lead to. He has certainly set the bar HIGH for your other 'kids'.

Right.. $75... Cindy! So.. who's complaining!! If those irises are what you want, go for it! Treat yourself!!!
Moreover, we've never seen an ugly iris, right? When they start blooming, I know you'll grace this thread with beautiful pictures.

How dare they force that on you Trisha!!! Don't they know that you are always busy?? Me think they know how kind you are, and won't turn any request for help, down.
I do hope you get some help for the bbq. My turn to say... don't overdo yourself.. watch your back..
Grab another drink.. enjoy your new fish for now. Watching them swim is never boring to me. :D

Trisha.. I wonder if Tina Turner slowed down some?

Tomorrow after church, we will be going to pay a visit to Kel's uncle Ronald. They say he's still in critical condition. Probably will be home in the evening.
Good night Cody! Sleep well.
