Garden Photos of '09 ... #29

Well, they are mostly daylilies... What you see there is all daylilies... the big garden is 98% daylilies and the big square (not shown) is a mix but still primarily daylilies.. lol! So, daylilies, daylilies and more daylilies... lol!! I'm trying to add more perennials here and there. This year I would love to get rid of a couple hundred daylilies (easier said than done.. lol)... Thanks everyone!

Donntbrook! The bicolor is annual poppy Flemish Antique. It was direct sown last December. Its quite tall and falls over.
I thought I could help the problem by sowing in the Casablanca lilies but I missed the lily spot by a few inches.
Marilyn those lilies are great.
Thankd RC.
BTW The Picasa photo editing software makes the collage, I just choose the pictures.

Well, even if Picasa makes the collage, you still choose the pictures!

I will try to get pictures of the garden when it's peaking. My brother may come and take pictures (he takes unreal pictures) and if so, I'll ask him if I can post them on here. Any of you who make it to these parts are welcomed to visit anytime...

I try to select similar colors and subjects.
I love collages, Its so easy to post several pix without comming back to the thread to post individually and run the thread count up so fast.

Thanks for the invite Leighton
Your gardens must be beautiful when all blooming.

Very good idea... Did you say your Japanese Iris are blooming (did I see one in one of the previous photos)? They aren't blooming here...

Its funny.. seems you get so caught up in the work phase that you sometimes miss the big picture. That is why photos are so important...

I am not enough of a botonist to hybredize plants but admire the work of ouhers.
I have lived here 2 years and gardens are new. The few JI's I have planted in early May are setting up blooms,I'm so excited.
I must have planted a dozen diff. varieties many didnt make it,dont know why.
The larger divisions are going fine but slow.
The whole garden is looking so much better this second year and next year I'll probably start dividing.
I tend to plant close together.

What's the saying.... firs year they sleep, second year they creep and third year they leap? Your plants are looking good to me (Ge1836)...
