Nice pictures Redchic..... love the conifer! Lots of talented photographers here... We are supposed to see the sun... perhaps, for several hours today! Woo hoo!!
nice light on those shots RC
Mornin everybody.
It must really be summer ,the lilies are starting to bloom.
good morning
oh that is very pretty Tex... good for you
Good morning all... should have said that earlier but figured I was the only "crazy" awake... lol!! Nice Verbena...
We are usually the early birds.
Top of the morning to you Onewish! Howdy?!
You know you're a gardener when an officer stop his patrol car and ask you what the heck are you doing in your own garden at 4:30 IN THE MORNING!!!!!! Ha, ha!
I went out to the front yard around 4 AM to have a cigarette and check everything out after that storm last night and I just couldn't resist to deadhead some rose bushes. Next thing I know a car pulled up by the curb and it was one of our local police officer patrolling. He was just making sure nothing wrong is going on. LOL!
Too foggy to go outside just yet..... waiting.... not so patiently!!
AHHHHHHMaine mornings.
My cousin lived in Rockland ,I visited one summer it was foggy every morning and so humid she had to disgard a tablecloth that molded while I was there.
I love the state wish I could afford to live there.
Well, it's not usually humid here this time of year... but this year... is an exception in all categories!! lol!! It's is very expensive to live here considering the incomes are very low and taxes are very high.... I have lived here all my life but I would love some day to own a Winter home someplace warm (hot preferably but I'll take warm).... Do you know where Falmouth is? I'm located in the bottom of the state on the coast.
that is funny Tex
hmm Tex.. that's a new one.....
I almost moved there 10 years ago. There is a wide gap between those who can live independently and those who neded jobs that sre so scarce.
Yes, no independent living here... and we are self employed... an even harder thing to do in these parts! I do love the four seasons...........when we get them!! lol
I thought I could have a gallery and homestead combined until I saw how many galleries there were. The competetion is ruthless.
In an economy where galleries are closing inland the tourist areas will be really hard hit.
Cousin is an artist, was part of a co-op in Belfast but left. She is dying wool and growing a dying garden so she can persue natueral dyes. This is just for her own amusement.
Hmmm I was just in Belfast a couple of weeks ago.. beautiful town (about 2 hours north of here). Does she still live in Maine?
Good morning all! Yeah, kind of surprised me the officer stopped. But I think they're doing all kind of precautions
as one of the houses a couple of streets away were robbed early in the morning few months ago. Also, a few cars down the street from different households) that was parked on the street overnight were keyed at night time.
OHHH Yes she does.
She only leaves duering black fly season.
Gets her garden in -in April and has a hazmat suit for other times.
Its a hard life where you are.
Well the bugs aren't too bad near the coast due to breeze usually.... and actually the black fly season is super short... thank goodness! I'm happy when the sun shines!! Hopefully... some time today!! Funny thing... I haven't ever been further North than the middle of this state. The people North of there have it really tough by what I read. My brother lives near the top of the state (over 5 hours from here).... that is tough living for sure!!
my town is good for that too... they encourage us to call them when we are going on vacation and they keep an eye on things (not that my neighbors wouldn't also)... the street is really good.. everyone is friendly
Pretty safe here and the neighbors do keep an eye on things here. I have three dogs that let me know what's going on outside. Lately I've been hearing of break ins in the area but that is new and unusual. I live 5 minutes from the city but you would never know it to be here at my house. .... if any of you get up to these parts... stop by and visit... and.............excuse the weeds!!
I am hoping to get rid of some of my weeds today... boy is this year bad
Unreal weeds!! I have a lady who wants to visit..... she never has a weed in her garden... bet she'll find a few here this year.... Last year I had a tour... I should have gotten everyone I knew then to come here and see the garden looking fairly pristine... it won't be looking that way this year unless we get a month of sunny days.... lol!!!
not looking that way here yet... I am so late on getting mulch as well... leaving in a bit to go get that.. hopefully we can get it down fast.. yeah sure... wishful thinking
I can say I am disgusted over how many weeds are out there... this is the first year since we bought the house it's been this bad
with all the slopes in our yard it works out good when we tag team the yard... i will pull the weeds when Randy fills the wheel barrow with the next load... he dumps and I spread it
I wish I had mulch... not this year I guess... but when I do get it, I get it brought to a tarp ( on the tractor) to right outside the garden then I put it in the beds. If I did have mulch, I would have needed to put it in about a month ago... my plants are huge now and a bit crowded for mulching. Do you have pictures??
