Westford, MA(Zone 6a)

huggergirl, I LOVE that cottage look. It's so bright and cheerful. Did you plant the perennials that way or did you toss a handful of seeds?

LeawoodGardener, that is quite an elegant entryway to a garage, and your water lilies are so gorgeous. What is the ground cover surrounding them?

Columbia City, IN(Zone 5b)

peony8,I had 2 groups of cones there, dug 1 out and planted zinnias, larspur popped up,also candytuft popped, Iam real happy with that spot, dissapointed in other areas, trial and error, even after 25 yrs of gardening!!!

Here's a new section. Right now I just have black eye susans and daisies but theres a bunch of different perennials in their first year and they are tiny. I can't wait to see what happens next year.

Gardengus - that lily is simply gorgeous...and with so many blooms.

Roserairie - like your flowerbed too. What are those two spiky yellow blooms in the left/center? I don't recognize them.

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

gardengus, LOVE that ornamental oregano! Where did you find that?

roserairie, beautiful beds- nicely done!

Cosmos reseeded very thickly this year. These are in front of my roses and the front porch.

I put down some cosmos seeds but I haven't seen anything. I wondered if all the rain we got in the spring washed the seeds away. I think they were tiny seeds.

Here is my Zebrina Mallow started from seeds.

gemini,
I purchased the oregano at an herbal fair. The lady said it is not hardy here so she grows it in a pot then cuts it back and winters it over in her garage. This is a division of her plant.
I am going to try to do the same.

Everyone seems to have these common ditch lilies around here but they were so tall and vibrant this year I thought I'd post.

I saw those all thru southeastern Indiana a few weeks ago when we went to see our daughter. Would have liked to take a picture, but there wasn't a shoulder where we could pull off to take it. There were thousands of them, literally in the ditches by the side of the road.

Leawood, KS(Zone 5b)

The 'Stargazer' lilies opened today - the fragrance from this and the other lilies fills the whole garden with a wonderful aroma.

The bright yellow center of this red daylily makes it a standout in the garden.

I think the brightest ones in my garden today would have to be these, and they are huge too.

Today it must be the orange ones looking for attention.

That orange with the stripe looks like one I have - do you know the name?

Thumbnail by LeawoodGardener
Flora, IN(Zone 5a)

Sorry, I am not good at keeping track of names. I trade for most of my day lilies so I often do not get the name.

Dallas, OR(Zone 8a)

No name either for this one, but it is pretty.
