Well, it seems that good news comes in three's. Bj's GD was lucky things weren't worse and she is young and will heal quickly. Cookie, I hope you Dad is still planning on seeing the doctor in July; just to be on the safe side. Jaye, I am so happy for yu and Kell that things with his dad are treatable. I know they still have a lot to go through but that just lifts the spirits to hear good news!

I went through some of the pictures from Texas and they turned out great. I am sending a wonderfu one to BJ of Mike and the guys but wouldn't want to embarres them but posting it here. What about this one though...

Judy you be careful......haven't been bowling in ....joints won't take that any more

Cody have fun...tell the little one Happy Birthday for us!

Bon, my daughter has had very little experience with Eastern Washington.....she spent a little time in Yakima but she was only six at the time!

Cookie, glad dad is feeling better....

BJ know you are relieved that the GD is doing well..... all of those kids are so lucky...

Well, I have to leave to get Laura in few minutes....hopefully it isn't going to take us long to finish up Dorothy's yard. I still have plenty to do on my own.....at least getting started this time of day we have a little cloud cover...sun will come out and get hot about the time we get home.

Have to run...BBL

Afternoon Jaye.....hope you are getting some well deserved rest.

trisha, most folks just think of Seattle and rain.

oh but that jetski looks fun! y'all had a blast, we can tell.

those chicks are growing fast. it always surprises me how fast eggs hatch and how fast they grow. and Randall STILL says I can't have any. we could have up to 8, if we call them "pets"....he says NO. he says no very very seldom, so I guess I have to give. He's always the one giving in to my "rules and laws."^_^

was looking up on the web just now for a drivers ed program for Ruth Jean. she still hasn't taken it, and I'm noticing her friends are all beginning to drive. she could have a job outside of walking distance if she drove.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Janice, thanks for sharing the pictures of the girgls on the jet ski's. You sure you don't want to share the other one your talking about?
Cody, so glad to hear that little goose is doing well! he may be a little crooked, but as along as he is eating, he is healthy.
Bon, when do you see the neurologist? Is Ruth Jean your daughter? Why did she not take drivers ed in school?
Take care.

WOW..I'm gone for a few days and the hits just keep coming, So sorry to hear everyone's bad news. Seems like the world is spiraling out of control these days anyway. Not being at all religious anymore, I'm glad you all have your faith to keep you going.

Good news for you Jaye. Once they decide on a treatment plan I'm betting Dock will be better in no time.

BJ your GD was really lucky and I'm so glad that she will be OK. They heal quickly at that age.

Well, I'm not sure what to say to all the bad news. I've never been very good at handling things I can't do anything about. That's the problem that comes with being a "doer". Give me a hands on problem and I'm your solution. Emotional situations overwhelm me in a hurry.

Everyone have a nice weekend.
Wish I could give everyone a big hug in person and cook you some comfort food.

How The Fight Started....

One year, a husband decided to buy his mother-in-law a

Cemetery plot as a Christmas gift. The next year, he didn't

buy her a gift. When she asked him why, he replied,

"Well, you still haven't used the gift I bought you last year!"

And that's how the fight started.

-------------------------------------------

My wife walked into the den & asked "Whats on the TV?"

I replied "Dust"

And that's how the fight started.

-------------------------------------------

A woman is standing looking in the bedroom mirror.

She is not happy with what she sees and says to her

husband, 'I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really

need you to pay me a compliment.

'The husband replies, 'Your eyesight's darn near perfect.'

And that's how the fight started.

-------------------------------------------

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our

upcoming anniversary.

She said, 'I want something shiny that goes from 0

to 200 in about 3 seconds.

I bought her a scale.

And that's how the fight started.

-------------------------------------------

I asked my wife, 'Where do you want to go for our

anniversary?'

It warmed my heart to see her face melt in sweet

appreciation.

'Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!' she said.

So I suggested, 'How about the kitchen?'

And that's how the fight started.

-------------------------------------------

I tried to talk my wife into buying a case of Miller Light

for $14.95. Instead, she bought a jar of cold cream

for $7.95. I told her the beer would make her look

better at night than the cold cream.

And that's how the fight started.

-------------------------------------------

I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some

reason, took my order first.

'I'll have the strip steak, medium rare, please.'

He said, 'Aren't you worried about the mad cow?'

'Nah, she can order for herself.'

And that's how the fight started

Jaye, fantastic news about Dock. Prayers are definitely being answered and all are being watched over.

BJ, I am scared to death to drive some of the roads around Tallahassee as they have huge old oak trees hanging over them. So very happy to hear your DGD wasn't hurt worse than she was. A very lucky lady indeed. Now I am really not in a good mood as I have read THAT Phyllis left Millie with you after I promised to take such good care of her if she would let me bring her home. No fair!!!

Welcome Beth, join right in!!

So much has happened I am not sure I have caught up on all the "doings" but will try: Judy my heart breaks hearing about your bird, sending a huge hug for you; Cody your are doing a very good job with the baby--keep it up!! Laura, congrats on the smoking and keep at it--you will succeed this time. Joyce, wonderful news about your Dad--I can see the relief on your face and the smile!!!! Those I have missed, just chalk it up to still being exhausted.

Kim and I drove home yesterday getting in about 9 last evening. She had doctor's appointments today so I went with her and managed to stop by a couple of nurseries. Must share what happened at the Opthamologist with her contacts--she has been having great difficulty seeing with the new contacts since she got them about 10 months ago. They were really concerned something bad might be going on with her eyes so after checking today they discovered they had mislabeled her contacts!! She had the left contact in the right eye and vice versa--surprise, she can see very well once they change them around. Did end up having to get her very first bifocals--welcome to world my dear daughter. LOL

Mom is still in the hospital and will be there until Monday for sure. The infection isn't clearing as fast as they would like and told her today until it has cleared completely she will not be going home. Let's just say she is not a happy camper.

Best thing of the day: I bought some hydrangeas!!!!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Marion,Praying for ya momma.......Laura to find a job...........Jaye,that Dock's treatment goes fast and easy.............Cody,that baby Angel keeps thriving.........Bonnie to see the neurologist soon and find answers...........BJ,for DGD and a rapid recovery without ant complications.........Judy that your pride was all that was hurt..........And for anyone I missed,May we all have a SAFE , HEALTHY , and HAPPY weekend.

Today I received the most glorious box.Drapelady aka Debbie, sent me The most Beautiful Huge Leather Bible,4 CD's,and Jimmy Swaggarts book...it all is so nice,But OH my that Bible !!!! I have NEVER had one sooooooooo nice.

Good evening everyone.
Been a very busy day, and just managed to unwind.
Like Maid M.. too exhausted to write a novel.

Janice, you're right. FIL still has some gruelling procedures ahead of him. For now, he is still taking it very well. Kept telling us, the Lord will never abandon him, whatever the outcome.

That will be a nicer treat for us Juanita! Especially when I don't cook often. Comfort food will nourish our souls too..

Good job on the gosling Cody. Poor thing is blissfully unaware that she is different.

Great news though on BJ's DGD. Has Gwen quit biting her nails or continously puffing up in worry?
Maid M.. praying that your mum UTI will be cleared soon. Don't forget to check your RWB box. Think your sender's quite anxious;)

Synda, you are very one lucky lady. Deb is a wonderful and kind Christian who has all the words in the Bible, inscribed in her heart. You can always turn to her for comfort.

Can anyone recommend a good devotional book for me to read?

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

I have not read this book ,but by the reviews on it I want to..........

The Practice of Piety: A Puritan Devotional Manual
by Lewis Bayly

Here is a review site for this book and others. http://www.apuritansmind.com/BookReviews/BaylyLewisPracticePiety.htm

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Okay girls I love this one.....may neighbor asked me if I ha red the Obituaries in today's paper...she said I needed to read the end of this one particular one...

...She lived like the quote on her computer......"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand and latte in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'whoo hoooo, what a ride!!' "

Yes I think that is the way to go!!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

I agree !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saint Matthews, SC(Zone 8a)

Good morning, ladies - So glad to hear good news on your family members - God is so good - I'm up this morning to finishing getting my van packed to go to the flea market - the plants and flowers and produce are how I make all my money to supplement my husband's income as a salesman. We are like most folks and struggle to make ends meet. But God has blessed us and continues to provide for us. I have sure learned a lot lot in the last year or so, though, about the "Give us EACH DAY our daily bread"! God has showed me how to trust him daily and not worry about tomorrow so much or fret over yesterday (which I can't change anyway). Each day has been provided for as it has come.

So glad to hear good news from several of you and will continue to pray for all of you - it will take me a while to get to know you and get all of your names straight - I am no good when it comes to remembering names! I will also continue to pray for the sistah who needs a job.

The worst parts of our recent area storms have missed us directly in the last few days - they were rough enough, but other areas as close as 15-20 miles really got it pretty bad with downed trees and power outages and lightning strikes, etc.

Gotta go now and finish getting daylilies loaded on the van - the sun is coming up and the coffee is ready!

Have a blessed day, all of you!

Beth

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Morning Beth.....Thank You for the Coffee.....Greatly needed, have not slept a wink last night, and it was for lack of trying.I guess I don't have that don't fret about tomorrow down yet......LOL.Best of luck with your sales at the flea market !!!!!!!!!! So glad the storms missed you.I be wetting my drawers if there was a tornado comin.

Hope your day is just wonderful...you deserve it!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Need to get off here.I'm having a hard time holding up my head, and I need to stay up to wait on Rick to call and tell me if I need to go to the bank.Cause the bank closes at noon today, and if I lay down I'll be out for a while...LOL.I think I'm part vampire,as soon as daylight hits I could fall over. But if it's dark I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed. And it isn't because I slept too much yesterday,I was up at 9 am.Boy am I praying he says I don't.If so I may have to prop open my eyes with tooth picks........LOL.

Well Rick just called as I was getting ready to hit send.....The Lord answered my prayers...I don't have to go to the bank.He borrowed some money from his boss so we can go get groceries. It really stinks ,literally ,to be out of TP.........LOL.

Thumbnail by synda
Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm not sure how we will pay him back, but I guess that is a worry for another day.I just hated to go ask momma for a check, since step dad just got back to work.
Boy when an unexpected thing pops up like Rick's car needing fixed.it puts everything out of whack.
Prescriptions and electric will have be another days worry to.Right now I am just to tired to care.

Night all, going to try and slip in a nap !!!!!!!!

The poor cat has even been pulling one of these numbers cause she needs litter.........ROFLMAO.
