Comments regarding Paradise Garden

This was my first order. The daylily plants were much larger than I've ever had from previous mailorder companies. And the extra plant was a welcome surprise. I can't wait for next year to see the flowers!!

I ordered 2 times from this company and both times I had problems. I ordered a clematis which was advertised as a 9 inch flower only to receive it with a stick advertising it as a 6 inch flower. The company did refund my money and changed the wording on their website. Then, I ordered some bulbs only to wait 3 weeks and receive an email stating those bulbs could not be sent. They also did refund that money. I am now waiting for about 5 more items which I ordered over 2 weeks ago.

irises arrived very long after I'd ordered them. They arrived dry, so I cannot tell if they had been lost in shipment, or if Paradise sent out dry irises two months after I'd placed the order. This is my first experience with Paradise. I will probably give another chance.

We are modest gardeners in Des Moines, yet we wanted something a bit more unique than local garden shops provide. Paradise Gardens filled the bill.

We ordered 7 daylilies and received 8 - all were in excellent condition, packaged well and were delievered very quickly. The size of the plants are most impressive. I can't imagine that they won't do well. We're looking forward to enlarging our daylily patch with a new order!

I was very pleased with my first experience with your company. I ordered 17 different irises and in addition to those you sent me an extra nine! Out of those 26 all but one was of superior/above average size. The packaging was superb, the plants arrived in excellent condition and the included planting instructions were very simple and informative. So far this has been a very positive experience, I will let you know again in the spring when they bloom if it remains one.

Our first mail order online with them went very well. Ordered flowers , Iris, came as promised, in good shape.

I ordered 9 irises from Paradise Garden and when I received the order I found that they had given me 7 additional irises for free! I received them on time and they were all in great condition.

Items shipped promptly and received in excellent condition. Even received a bonus "extra" day lilly. VERY PLEASED!!!

I ordered daylillies and some perennials - both arrived in very good shape - the daylillies greened up and are looking wonderful = the others I will plant soon, but I am pleased with how they were boxed and shipped. The only negative is that I emailed the company and never received a response back.

I ordered five one gallon boxwoods and received them a week later. They were all in excellent condition, confirming my positive impression of the company.

I received my daylilies I had ordered in 5 days.These were the biggest and best clumps I have ever received from mailorder. they are already growing and I only received them one week ago. I am well pleased with what I got for my money.

If you need any customer service, do not do business with this company. You cannot reach them by phone and their voicemail is full (indicating unresponsiveness).

I placed an order with them, only to be advised AFTER I placed the order, that the items would not ship for two months!

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

This is a great company to do business with! I had a split shipment from two growers. Both packages arrived very quickly. The hostas were packaged so well that every leaf was perfect ( nothing smashed or bruised). They are very healthy, large plants with many roots. My daylily shipment arrived packed just as carefully. The divisions are HUGE with very thick, healthy roots. My bonus plant is of the same high quality, not just a scrawny "sample". I looked it up in the catalog to see what it is and it will compliment the other lilies nicely, thank you!
The website is easy to use. I like the plant reviews from other gardeners. Their comments are helpful when you are making your selections. The "seed points" are a nice bonus for shopping with Paradise. :)

This was my first time ordering and I was extremely pleased. The flowers I ordered came in a timely fashion and perfectly packaged. Inside, I found very nice and healthy plants. I also appreciated receiving the detailed planting instuctions and information that were enclosed with my order. The bonus plant was a wonderful surprise as well. THANK YOU! A+++++

I recived my order in a timly manner. In my order were three Clematis which all looked the same and in good shape. I planted them and two of them are over 42" high and blooming, the third, "Belle of Woking" thinks it's a bonzi, it is 12" high. I have tried to ask Paradise Garden why, voice mail full 4 tries, E-Mail 2 weeks ho response. Guess I payed 15.95 for a runt.

I was amazed when I opened up my package from Paradise Garden. I have bought plants from several other online plant companies, but they do not compare to the quality I received from Paradise garden. In the past, I have bought daylilies from other gardening companies, but when they arrive, the plants are brown, droopy and the size of my pinky finger. Paradise garden sent me daylilies that were healthy, green and bigger than my whole hand! I was very pleased, and in the future, I will only purchase mail order plants from this company.

Plants arrived in a timely manner. Packaging was secure and very protective of plants. All perrenials that I ordered arrived live, lush, and succulent. They made my garden and instant beauty. I ordered from 6 different online garden services this spring, and Paradise Garden was by far, the best to work with. I am very satisfied and will recommend them to my friends.

I placed my first order with Paradise Gardens on March 3, 2004 for some "Oriental Girl" lilies and trumpet tuberous begonias. When the order came, it contained mixed dahlias and mixed gladiolus. David Black very graciously e-mailed me and assured me that the problem would be resolved and that I should keep the incorrect items as a gift. When the begonias came, I received a package of mixed lilies, which David explained as another "free gift." I must say the begonias are doing quite well (one of the four never sprouted, but it still seems very firm) but after a few more recent e-mails inquiring about the elusive lilies, I have not received any reply whatsoever. It's been 3-1/2 months now, and I've requested a credit if they are unavailable; yet they are still appearing on the website as a current item. I'd really just like to resolve this; I have always had pretty good experiences with mail order suppliers, and hope that this is just some sort of miscommunication.

was very pleased with the quality of the plants I received and with careful packaging. i purchased a similar plant from a local garden center as i needed one more, and was amazed by the enduring health and appearance of the Paradisegarden.com plant by comparison. will definitely shop there again.

This is the first time I have ordered from Paradisegarden.com. I was extremely pleased. The plants are much larger than all the other mail order companies I have used. They were packed extremely well, very lush, and the soil was still moist... I was used to examining a plant and hoping it's still alive. I will definantly order again.

Plants ordered were much larger and healthier-looking than other mail-order companies. A bit pricy, but I guess you get what you pay for. We did have a problem with a plant dying off shortly after planting, but after e-mailing Paradise Garden a replacement was promptly sent and it's growing very well. I would recommend Paradise Garden to others, and will be ordering again in the future.

first order---3 plants over $50. no prospective shipping time or date given. all plants sent from michigan supplier. what does paradise actually supply themselves? ordered two coral bells and an iris. iris had 4 fans - 3 lovely and 1 mush. good root systems on coral bells. pricey but good quality. may or may not order again.

I ordered 5 flowering bushes and they arrived in excellent condition.

I ordered day lilies, clematis, and baptisia. The day lilies are big and healthy, with substantial root clumps. It was nice to get a bonus plant, too! The clematis and baptisia, which came from a separate supplier, arrived well packed in their containers, although the box itself was a little crushed in shipping and some better insulation would have been helpful. I removed quite a bit of moldy foliage (the shipping weather was hot) and planted them all immediately; a week later, all but one are starting to look green and healthy.

I just put in my first order to this wonderful company - I ordered several iris and a purple emperor sedum. I received the sedum seperately, and I was amazed - it was HUGE, and very carefully packed - MUCH better than any other mail order company I have ever ordered from, and I order a LOT from mail order!! I am SO IMPRESSED!!! I have not received the iris yet, I understand they send those more toward June/July. I will definately order from them in the future. What a pleasure!

I ordered daylillies this winter and they arrived last Saturday, at the right time for planting in my area. The plants are the largest I have ever recieved by mail, and started to put out new growth within two days of being planted. Can't wait to see them flower! I will deffinitely order from this company again.

I have just received my first order from Paradise Gardens. I ordered a collection of daylilies, and the plants that arrived are as promised...the plants are mature, and ready to go. Also thanks for the bonus plant!
I am excited about getting these plants in the ground, and trust they will be as beautiful as promised.
The only downside to my order (a small one) was that it did take a few weeks for plants to arrive, and I was beginning to get concerned about the time table for planting them. However when I wrote to inquire about arrival time, Paradise responded to my email quickly.
So far my experience is a positive one; I am more than satisfied with the size and appearance of my bulbs!!

I received my first order today and I was overwhelmed. The plants were larger than I expected (based on my previous experience of ordering online from other nurseries). This was actually the first time I have ever received plants beginning to bloom. Paradise's claim to 2 year old plants was right on the money. When I have ordered from other nurseries in the past, I would get a plant that was maybe a couple of months old or a plant that was dead. Not from Paradise. All the plants I received were healthy, beautiful and at least 2 years old. I want to Thank the people at Paradise for the service I received and providing a quality product. I was about to give up ordering plants online, but wanted to try Paradise before I quit. I am glad that I did.

i ordered a hosta sum of all on 4/14/04. hosta did not arrive until 5/15/04 & was in very bad condition & smaller than i expected for $19.99(i think fed ex lost it) communication was excellent & david black(customer service) worked to find out where the plant was. it was not the best experience in mail order i have had but far from the worst!!

This was my first order from Paradise Garden and have been very pleased with the plants and the service. The plants came in multiple shipments due to the fact that there was more than one grower involved. When the geraniums came they were bare root and a bit small but I potted them and they took off. Buy the time I could plant them outside they were in great shape. BUT the daylilies were outstanding from the minute that they arrived. They are the largest, most vigorous divisions that I have ever gotten mail order and better than some purchased locally. I will certainly do business with them again.

I ordered a Weigela "Midnight Wine" plant. The order arrived quickly and the plant is very healthy. Their website is easy to get around and the information on each plant on the website is helpful. I am very pleased with "Paradise Garden."

My order of daylilies arrived in wonderful condition; very happy with the packaging, as well as the helpful hints on care of my bulbs.

Will most definitely order again soon. They have a great selection!!
