Tropical plants # 42

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I'm thinking quite soon. I found out in our last comp time report that I have 24 hours left, when I had thought none.

Rj, I have a little white shrimp plant blooming in the shade for the first time this year. It is very gangly, and I thought that I might move to a sunnier spot. How much sun does your plant get?

This must be a Texas native morning glory plant. I dug it up from a construction site a few years ago.

Lots of tropical color, I might have to borrow phughes machete to get in there.

(Could stock up on good wine) Hope that doesn't offend anyone.

Always think about it.....Christ's very first miracle was to change the water to wine at the wedding celebration. Very HIGH QUALITY WINE. Bring any and everyone you can. Not an official RU but who cares. Just need to have as many as we can get here so I can hug your sweet necks. Ok lets start counting. (wine not manadatory, water will or Coca Cola, etc. will work)

LouC, thanks for the invitation, keep me updated with you plans. Texasbigleaves has not been around much lately.

Candela, I always enjoy your pictures. I have never tasted a lychee fruit. It is nice to see your gingers blooming but your colocasia Nancy's Revenge is outstanding. Mine did not come back this spring.

Hi Rita. Of all things that white one is a volunteer. You know when you walk down the steps next to the pond, it's right there on the edge of the pond. Gets good 3 or 4 hours sun, and lots of water.
Christi, I doubt Brian will come.
I haven't even been 50 for 3 weeks and came down with the shingles right above my left ear. Painful, think I'd rather have another hip replacement than this.

Finally had a Cirrus bloom!

Ouch, shingles. My mother had that. Unfortunately by the time we found out, I had already been exposed, but I all ready had measles so I didn't get it. It can be sooo contagious while active. Wound up with some pain on her back where the shingles occurred.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Planter, I think you mean chicken pox.

RJ, I had shingles (Ramsay Hunt Syndrome) in the same place and I am sure your Dr. already told you but be very careful, they can get nasty and spread to your eye. I was among the fortunate ones because I responded very well to the meds. Residual problems were minimal and I hope and pray you have the same results.

RJ I second what ardesia said. You want to be very careful with shingles in your face.
Take some good meds! It is painful.

Central, LA(Zone 8b)

RJ I'm sorry your BD surprise was the shingles but don't even think it's an old age disease my 16 year old grandson had them twice last year.

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, dearest Randy. I fully understand. Broke out on my face last June. So painful. My mother's led to Ramsey Hunt which few, include the doctors know what that is). won't go into it but it is even more painful. I had quite a time there for a while.Oddly, all this time later, i still break out and have terrible pain if i get too upset. Need I say as an adjunct to grief, It has not been not been fun.

Sadly, Aaron's father has been battling this since within two days after Aaron died.

Cape Coral, FL(Zone 10a)
