Nice shots all. Love the Bullock Oriole. I've only gotten shots of the Baltimore Oriole earlier this spring. Love the White Crowned Sparrow and the Mama Robbin feeding the young. I have a Robbin nest in my front yard...seems they love my little tree out front.
Lith is the Osprey shot from the Merkle Sanctuary. I shot a family there last Sunday on the farm side of the Critical Area drive.
Here's 2 more lifers for me
First the Yellow Warbler, male

DAILY PICS. VOLUME 220
Great shots all!!!
Congrats on all the great new birds Met!
Beautiful photos and the birds all look like they love posing for each of you.
Congrats Met, great shots!!
Congratulations, Meth, and a great series of photos. As to the Osprey photo, it was actually taken near the Patapsco River in Pasadena. I've been frequenting the Patuxent Research Refuge (North Tract) with some success considering that I just walk back-and-forth on a small stretch of road for 2-3 hours. I hear more birds than I see but I have been able to photograph the Yellow-breasted Chat, Prairie Warbler, Indigo Bunting, Blue Grosbeak. Great-crested Flycatcher, Eastern Bluebird, Orchard Oriole, Cedar Waxwing, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, Eastern Kingbird, Brown Thrasher, Towhee, and Summer Tanager. That's not too bad for a stretch of road of about 200 yards. Plus, I'm certain that I missed some, also.
Been gone to Branson for a few days and haven't posted. My ATT air card was next to useless there. Poor signal and antiquated system.
We did a lot of hiking and the birding was really pretty poor. My prize pic was of a mama mink. We were biking up Dogwood Canyon and had climbed up to a waterfalls. I looked back down at the trail and saw a mink carrying a small animal. I couldn't tell if it was a baby or something she had killed. I watched where she stashed it and investigated when we got back down. My wife saw her on the other side of the trail and she was carrying a second baby to a new location. I rushed her and she dropped the baby. I knew she wouldn't leave it. She was so frenetic and active I almost couldn't get a shot of her. She kept trying to rush in from the rear and nip me while I was taking pics of the baby.
Fur-- no feathers.
A few feathers. A swan on the mill pond at College of the Ozarks. If you're in Branson, don't miss the College of the Ozarks. It's a Christian college that has a program for kids who normally wouldn't be able to attend college to work for their tuition.
Has a 4-star restaurant in the Keeter Center. I had a meat loaf made from pork, wild boar, and chicken that was to die for. Not ground meat like most meat loafs, but larger chunks of meat melded together.
Don't miss their museum nor orchid greenhouse either.
Very funny!!!
Nice shots! I especially like that poor soggy cowbird...
They're friendly little guys!
Congratulations luckie!
Great shots everyone!
Here is a nice video about the Red Knot's in New Jersey (you'll have to scroll down a ways).
